Cody Provides An Update On His Knee Injury, Will He Need Surgery?

In case you missed it, reigning IWGP United States Champion Cody was forced to pull out of his scheduled title defense against Beretta at last night’s final Ring Of Honor Global Wars event in Toronto after suffering a knee injury Friday night in Buffalo, New York (see that story here).

Instead, Juice Robinson took on Beretta last night, but the more serious issue was the early fear was that the injury could to Cody could be serious. He wasted no time in getting everything checked out however, taking to Twitter to reveal today that while a major surgery is not required, the damage to his meniscus means he will be needing a scope. With a number of big events on the horizon including ROH’s Final Battle in December and then New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 in January, Cody also noted that he still intends to compete at both and at this time it appears his schedule will not be changing:

GOOD news is my doctor is fairly confident that my mcl/pcl/acl are structurally sound.
