Crown Jewel Kickoff Results: United States Championship

• United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura defended his title against ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev in the Crown Jewel Kickoff in a match announced yesterday.
• Nakamura won the title from Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules on July 15th, his first championship on WWE’s main roster.
• As you would expect, Rusev utilized his power while the champion tried to counteract it with his pinpoint striking ability.
• A surprise Machka Kick nearly won the challenger the title, but in the end Nakamura would escape The Accolade and connect with a low blow out of the ref’s point of view before hitting the Kinshasa to retain.
