Lucha Capital

I’ve decided to do Lucha Capital here because I simply can’t make up my mind, despite the fact there’s a AAA show on Sunday.

Angelikal vs Averno

They tie up to start and disengage. They go back to tying up and feeling each other out. Angelikal hit a hurricanrana off the ropes, and then hits a rotating dive to the outside. They get back in the ring and Angelikal hits a head scissors to the outside. He goes for an asai moonsault and Averno pulls his leg down. Averno then power bombs him into the post. Averno flapjacks him then puts him on the turnbuckle and pulls at his mask. Averno takes him to the outside then rams his groin into the post. Averno whips him to the corner but Angelikal bounces off the ropes hitting a hurricanrana to the outside, then does a corkscrew dive off the ropes. In the ring Angelikal gets a sunset flip for a close two count. Angelikal hits a springboard tornado splash for a two count. Angelikal goes for a hurricanrana off the ropes but gets dropped for a power bomb and a close two. Averno goes to the top but Angelikal kicks him, then hits a Spanish Fly for a two count. Interesting, that’s rarely ever kicked out of. Averno hits a tiger face buster off the top for the win. Averno pins Angelikal with a Tiger Face Buster off the top.

Winner: Averno

Lady Maravilla vs lady Shani

The match starts with Maravilla working over Shani. She kicked her in the butt and then set up a running attack in the corner but Shani moved. She follows that up with a fisherman suplex which is kicked out of. Shani continues to work on Maravilla and they spend a lot of time trading submissions that really show off how flexible they are. After grappling for some time Shani gets caught in the ropes and Maravilla hits a drop kick. She hits another from the top rope. Maravilla goes to the top but Shani stops her and grabs her arms then slams her. Then she rolls her into a german suplex bridge position for the pin. Lady Shani pins Lady Maravilla with a slam into german suplex bridge pin.

Winner: Lady Shani

Aerostar vs Pagano

Match begins with them going at each other. No tie ups and grappling here. Pagano gets him down with a shoulder block and then goes for a moonsault that he misses. Aerostar gets the advantage now and gets him to the outside and hits a middle rope dive. Aerostar goes for another dive but Pagano catches him this time. Pagano tries to re-enter the ring but Aerostar hits a step up stomp to the back of his head. Pagano catches him for a swinging back breaker. Pagano goes back to the top and hits a leg drop. Aerostar moves out of the way and then hits a springboard splash. Pagano runs and gets caught in the turnbuckle, and Aerostar runs up and hits a back stabber. Pagano picks him up for a power bomb spot then does a running lung blower on the turnbuckle. Pagano hits a reverse vertical suplex for the win. Pagano pins Aerostar with a reverse vertical suplex. 

Winner: Pagano

Maximo vs Nino Hamburguesa

There’s a lot of posturing to start. Nino shoulder blocks Maximo out of the ring then sets up a dive but Maximo skips out of the way. Maximo hits an awkward arm bar then hits a splash off the apron. Not a lot is happening, Maximo goes for a pin but he kicks out. He goes to suplex Nino but can’t and that leads to his downfall. He does a running hip attack to the corner on Maximo. Maximo starts to dodge Nino’s attacks and each time he kisses him in a different way, then he school boys him for the win. Maximo defeats Nino Hamburguesa with a school boy.

Winner: Maximo

Pentagon Jr vs Golden Magic

So Fenix is joining them at the commentary desk. And the surprise here is Fenix announces his brother is taking his place in this match tonight. I’m praying he takes his place this Sunday too. Please no Blue Demon Jr. The match begins with Pentagon pointing to the crowd and they say Cero Miedo. He gets out of the ring and joins them but Golden Magic isn’t having any of it and dives over the top onto him. They continue to brawl on the outside in the food area briefly. Pentagon tells the crowd to quiet down then slaps his chest against the post. He does it again, and takes his glove off, but he misses this time. Magic then hits a dive off the apron onto him.

In the ring Magic runs up to the top and does a tornado dive. Magic hits a super kick, then Pentagon trades one. They sell for a bit then Pentagon hits a sling blade for a two count. Golden Magic hits a springboard hurricanrana on Pentagon off the apron. Magic gets back in the ring and goes back to the top and hits a tornado dive to the outside. Pentagon goes to the top but Magic intercepts him. He hits a jump up hurricanrana for a two count. Magic places Pentagon on the turnbuckle but Pentagon slides underneath and super kicks the leg, then hits the double stomp from the top for a two count. Magic comes out of the corner hitting a rolling DDT for a 2 count.

Pentagon hits the pentagon driver out of nowhere for an incredibly close two count. They fight on the apron now exchanging slaps. Pentagon then hits a Canadian destroyer on the apron. That’s just.. crazy. Pentagon hits a jumping foot stomp off the top for another two count. Magic reverses the package pile driver then hits a standing sliced bread for a two count. Magic goes for a 450 from the top and misses. Pentagon does the arm breaker spot from Lucha Underground, then hits a package pile driver for the win. Pentagon Jr pins Golden Magic with a package pile driver.

Winner: Pentagon Jr

Here & There

MLW

Just announcing Lucha stuff but they will have a live show on beIN sports on December 14th where Rush will take on Rich Swann. He’s also wrestling Shane Strickland the day before I believe. Pentagon Jr will now take on Teddy Hart. Konnan will wrestle Low Ki for the World Heavyweight Championship. I have no clue how this will turn out. I know for sure Konnan has been working very hard since his hip surgery. And since he’s criticized Vampiro for wrestling well past his prime, so we will see. Dragon Lee will also debut in MLW which is tremendous. He’s one of the best out there. LA Park will wrestle PCO in a no holds barred match and I’m sure Park’s son will wrestle someone.

All Elite Wrestling

Cody announced or said in Australia saying that the All Elite Wrestling will be a bigger announcement than people expect. I believe this could have a big impact on the Lucha world because let’s face it, a lot of the most talented wrestlers working indies are from Mexico and they go at cheaper rates because the currency trade is so massive, almost 1 to 10. So I wonder how many will get picked up for this. I’m personally excited, and if they have a wrestling show on TV that will start I nominate myself to cover it.
