Heroes Immortales

The big story here was Dr. Wagner defeating Jeff Jarrett in a hair vs hair match. Jeff Jarrett actually got his head shaved. Amazing. There was a lot of pomp and circumstance in this match. Karen Jarrett interfered a lot and repeatedly hit Dr. Wagner. Blue Demon Jr was in Wagner’s corner but naturally if you’ve been paying attention to the AAA shows Demon was for sure going to turn on Wagner. Psycho Clown came down to make the save. Wagner defeated him with a guitar shot. At the end of the match he punched Karen Jarrett too as pay back. You’ll never see that in America.

In the Co-Main event we saw Psycho Clown and Murder Clown vs Monster Clown and Killer Kross in a dome match where you need to climb out the top of the dome. Psycho Clown and Murder Clown won and at the end of the match Aerostar attacked Monster Clown to continue their feud. Pagano won the Copa Antonio Pena in what was a really awkward and sloppy 10 man royal rumble match. A few guys like AAA La Parka were supposed to be in but wasn’t. It came down between Pagano and El Hijo Del Fantasma. The finish was wacky. He was on the apron and tried to dodge Pagano’s punch, and fell off the ring apron doing so. Texano and Rey Escorpion retained their tag team titles against Bandido and Flamita and DJZ and Laredo Kid who replaced an injured Andrew Everett who was there to show he wasn’t just missing the show.

Porde de Norte defeated Maximo, Piminela Escarlata, and Mamba, and Drago, Aerostar, and Angelikal. Angelikal replaced Laredo kid because he replaced Andrew Everett. Faby Apache retained her Reina de Reinas title in a fatal four way against Starfire, Keyra, and Scarlett Bordeaux.

Lucha Capitol on Facebook Live

So as I spoke about last week, AAA is doing a tournament on Facebook live. It happened on Wednesday at 10:30, but it’ll normally be at 9:30 after we set our clocks back. I will have the review for those matches in this opinion piece because it’s too small to include as it’s own, and would get too messy to include in future AAA articles. So they’re going to have a tournament that will take place until December. So far the competitors in this tournament will be,

Vanilla, Pagano, Psycho Clown, Pentagon Jr, Aerostar, Australian Suicide, Drago, Fenix, Golden Magic, Hijo Del Vikingo, Keyra, Killer Kross, Lady Maravilla, Lady Shani, Laredo Kid, Mascarita Sagrada, Maximo, Nino Hamburguesa, Scarlett Bordeaux, Taya Valkyrie, Texano Jr, La Hiedra, Taurus, Murder Clown, and Puma King.

The tournament will go like this, week 1-3, everyone will get a match, and winners get 3 points each. Week 4-6, everyone gets a second match. If you win both your matches you advance to the finals, if you only win 1 you move on to the play in round next week. Week 7, Everyone with one win will be on this show. Week 8, Gran Final. Four three way matches, leading to two semi final singles matches, then one winner. Very intriguing format, different that’s for sure.

Results

Vanilla vs La Hiedra

Match starts with Vanilla getting the early advantage and then she poses by shaking her hips. Hiedra attacks her while she does this though. It goes to the outside and Hiedra rams her into the post then slaps her ass. They trade some offense back and forth and Vanilla gets the advantage of those exchanges. She hits a senton flip dive off the apron then rams Hiedra into the posts and slaps her ass.

Inside the ring Hiedra goes for a sunset flip but Vanilla rolls into it and hits a drop kick for a two count. Hiedra hits a michinoku driver for a one count. Vanilla hits a northern lights suplex for a 0 count. Clearly some heat here. Hiedra works over Vanilla for a few, hitting knees in the corner for a two count. Hiedra tries to spinning power bomb Vanilla but she reverses into a hurricanrana pinning combination for the win. Vanilla pins Hiedra with a hurricanrana.

Winner: Vanilla

Taurus vs Pagano

They lock up to start and actually grapple for a little which is different from a normal Pagano match. They exchange strikes on each other in the middle of the ring. Taurus hits a sling blade for a two count. Taurus shoulder blocks Pagano to the outside then hits a dive off the top rope. Pagano gets back in the ring and kicks Taurus preventing him from getting in. Then hits a flipping senton through the middle rope. He pins him but Taurus gets his hand on the rope. Pagano hits a running neck breaker for a two count.

Pagano runs at him in the corner and Taurus counter him and belly to bellys him in the corner. Taurus hits a combination attack on him and runs to the other corner to set up an attack but Pagano follows and gets him in a head scissors position but hits a Canadian destroyer for the win. Pagano pins Taurus with a head scissors Canadian destroyer.

Winner: Pagano

There’s a lot of stuff in between matches. It seems like AAA is determined to make this go two hours.

Psycho Clown vs Murder Clown

They start out grappling trying to work over each others arm. Early on Murder Clown hits a death valley driver for a two count. Murder is working over Psycho Clown now. Psycho hits a power slam to make a come back and gets a two count. Murder rolls out of the ring and Psycho hits a middle rope dive. He goes back into the ring and hits another one. He brings him back in the ring for a two count. Murder hits a rolling neck breaker to come back for a two count. Psycho ties up Murder in the paradise lock and hits a drop kick off the top to his butt area.

Murder gets Psycho on the ropes and hits a jumping attack on his neck bringing him to the outside. Then Murder down a flip dive over the top rope. So crazy Vampiro started speaking English randomly. Murder Clown press slams him then hits a big splash off the top for what I thought was three but the ref got on the mat for what I thought was a one count but it wasn’t. As they get up, Psycho gets him in a sunset flip position but hits a sunset power bomb for the win. Psycho Clown pins Murder Clown with a sunset flip power bomb.

Winner: Psycho Clown

Puma King vs Pentagon Jr

Pentagon drop kicked Puma out of the ring to start, Penta goes for a dive but Puma kicks him to counter. They stand in the middle of the ring and chop each other. Puma gets Pentagon to the outside and hits an over the top dive. Puma King flosses and then they go back to exchanging chops. They have an acrobatic exchange and King drop kicks Pentagon’s butt. Pentagon gets him with a backstabber in the corner for a two count. They exchange a few moves and Puma gets him in a camel clutch but changes it into a pinning combination for a close two count.

When the dust clears Pentagon goes for a sunset flip attack but Puma reverses into an Alabama slam for a two count. They exchange chops on the apron and Pentagon finally gets him in a package pile driver on the apron. After they slowly get back in the ring Puma super kicks Pentagon on the apron and does a sunset flip over the top and power bombs Pentagon on the apron. They again exchange strikes in the middle of the ring. They both hit super kicks and fall to the ground. Puma hits a fireman’s carry and brings Pentagon to the corner for an attack off the top. He misses the senton then Pentagon goes to the top and jumps down and hits a Canadian destroyer, then the package pile driver for the victory. Pentagon pins Puma King with a package pile driver.

Winner: Pentagon Jr.

I don’t believe there’s any news on Lucha wrestling that I haven’t been over aside from the fact that Volador Jr and Soberano Jr while getting over and looking great, did terrible in the Super Jr tag league. Sad.
