The NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament begins!

A new title has been minted, and now we must crown the inaugural title holder! “Who will establish themselves as the most dominant woman in the NXT United Kingdom Women’s Division?”

NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament: Dakota Kai VS Nina Samuels!

Fittingly, the Captain of Team Kick helps kick off this tournament! Will Dakota take the first step to being a true crossover success with a win? Or will she be kicked out of the tournament at the very beginning by the Rose Pink Devil?

The bell rings and this tournament truly begins! Nina doesn’t take Dakota serious as they tie up. She knees low and says she’s already got this. She throws Dakota around but Dakota gets out of the waistlock to Penalty Kick and double stomp! Cover, TWO! Dakota keeps on Nina with a whip but Nina reverses. Nina sweeps the legs and drags Dakota into a backbreaker! Cover, ONE, and fans rally for Dakota. Dakota gets to ropes but Nina is on her as she bends her back. Nina uses a modified motorcycle stretch, then runs to dropkick Dakota in the back! Cover, TWO! Nina grows frustrated while fans rally up. Nina goes after Dakota’s arms and grinds a knee into Dakota’s back. Dakota endures the stretch, and fans rally up again.

Dakota feeds off that energy to get up and tries to turn. Nina holds onto the arms to bring Dakota back. Dakota manages the turn, but Nina turns it back to elbow Dakota in the back. Nina whips but Dakota dodges, only to run into a tilt-o-whirl backbreaker! Cover, TWO! Nina continues to grow frustrated, but she just grins as she drags Dakota up again. Nina wants a bomb, claiming the title is already hers. She lifts Dakota into the Gory Especial stretch. Fans rally as Dakota endures being bent back. Dakota uses an elbow to fight out, then sunset flips! TWO, but Dakota hits Nina with forearms! Dakota throws more and more forearms, then the scorpion kick! Nina staggers, Dakota dropkicks her down!

Dakota goes side to side for the wash! She fires up and so do the fans. Dakota goes Around the World and hits the boot! She rolls Nina out, keeps moving, Kai-ropractor! Cover, Dakota wins!

Winner: Dakota Kai, by pinfall; advances to the semifinals

The first one in is the kick-happy Kiwi! Dakota gives this tournament a great start, who will join her in the next round?

Backstage interview with Mark Andrews!

The Welshman rockstar has had his issues with the Coffey Brothers, but he and his team ended up losing the Six-Man Tag. Now #Mandrews moves on from that “distraction” for the moment, because he has bigger things. He’s the most exciting man in NXT UK, he can do things no one else can. But he hasn’t gotten championship gold just yet. So he wants some gold. The Modfather, Flash Morgan Webster, joins the conversation. He wants gold, too. Andrews said “put a pin in it” but these two made a great team. And those NXT UK Tag Team Titles are coming. The Shooting Star Rockstar and the Modfather has a good ring to it, and those titles would look pretty good on their waists. Andrews admits that’s a good point. Will these two take the UK Tag Team Division by storm?

NXT UK Media caught up with Ashton Smith.

The Prestige had a rough night in a loss to Wolfgang last episode, but what’s in his future? Smith admits it is what it is. But do you go home and cry? Or do you decide that you’re the one that needs to get better? However, Eddie Dennis walks over. A tough start, hasn’t it? Not for Eddie, but for Smith. Maybe they have a match and Smith learns something from him. Smith considers the challenge. Will Smith have something to teach The Headmaster in the ring?

Tyson T-Bone VS Jake Constantinou!

The King of Travelers makes his NXT UK TV debut, and is ready to show the world what this bare knuckle brawler can do. Will the gypsy man back up his words as the roughest, toughest talent on the roster?

The bell rings and he circles with Constantinou. T-Bone puts Constantinou in a corner, grinds in his forearm, but backs off at 4. He and Constantinou circle, tie up, and T-Bone throws Constantinou across the way! Constantinou gets to the ropes but T-Bone dares him to come back. They tie up and Constantinou gets a wristlock. T-Bone reverses to his own but Constantinou rolls and gets a waistlock. T-Bone elbows out then kicks and clubs and knees Constantinou down. He drags Constantinou up to whip him to a corner hard. Then he back splashes and back suplexes Constantinou down! Cover, TWO! Constantinou can barely breathe, so T-Bone kicks and drops an elbow! Cover, TWO!

T-Bone keeps his cool as he drags Constantinou up for a neck wrench. Constantinou endures as T-Bone twists. Constantinou gets up and throws hands. He kicks then runs, but into a stiff right from T-Bone! T-Bone tops it off with a clobbering clothesline and covers, T-Bone wins!

Winner: Tyson T-Bone, by pinfall

The King of Travelers wins his debut, and with the grit he promised. But he’s not done. He grabs a mic and asks “Is that a joke?” Was that guy really the best the NXT UK has to offer? T-Bone says it’s all a joke, and drops the mic. Fans boo and jeer, they don’t like his attitude. But then, Dave Mastiff appears! The Bomber is here for his own match up next, will he show T-Bone what he wants to see?

Dave Mastiff VS Dan Moloney!

Big Dave has bulldozed through quite a few opponents already in the short time NXT UK has been on air, but now Birmingham’s own gets a piece of the action. Will it again be bombs away for Bomber Mastiff? Or will Worldstar Moloney manage a massive upset?

The bell rings and Moloney goes right after Mastiff with clubbing forearms and kicks. Moloney goes to whip but Mastiff blocks on size and strength. Mastiff whips then dropkicks Moloney! T-Bone still watches from ringside and he’s surprised. Mastiff drops a back senton and fans know “Mastiff’s gonna kill~ you~!” Mastiff watches T-Bone as he drags Moloney up. Moloney swings but Mastiff blocks to headbutt! Mastiff then deadlift German Suplexes! Moloney is in a corner, Mastiff goes corner to corner, Buster Bomb cannonball! Cover, Mastiff wins!

Winner: Dave Mastiff, by pinfall

Mastiff impresses again, and perhaps T-Bone just bit off more than he can chew. Will the Bomber break the King of Travelers? Or does T-Bone have the grit enough to survive Mastiff’s might?

Backstage interview with Sid Scala!

Safe to say, Sid’s had a really rough start. But what does he think he needs to change in order to turn it around? Sid goes back to the drawing board, and wants one more opportunity. The fans might be losing faith in him, but he has a plan. He’ll talk with Johnny Saint to ask for such opportunities. Radsy wishes Sid luck, but what will Sid have to do to finally get that first win?

NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament: Jinny VS Millie McKenzie!

The Fashionista already feels she owns that fashionable championship title, and she made an impact when she attacked Dakota Kai a little while ago. However, she’ll have to get through The First 21st Century Badass in this first round. Will Jinny make good on all her talk up to this point? Or will Millie Mack make a stunning upset?

The bell rings and fans sing for “Oh~ Trent Seven Army~!” Gibson tunes them out as always as he circles with Seven. They tie up and Gibson powers Seven to the mat. Gibson has the wristlock but fans taunt with “If you hate Gibson, shoes off!” Seven gets up and spins to reverse the wristlock. He brings Gibson down in an armllock as fans put their shoes back on for now. Gibson gets up but Seven wrenches again. Gibson rolls and spins to get free, then runs Seven over with a shoulder. Fans boo as Gibson gets a toehold. The fans then move to a new song to taunt Gibson with, but Gibson tweaks Seven’s leg. Gibson gets the arm and keylocks. Seven gets up as Gibson shifts to a double wristlock.

Gibson whips but Seven cartwheels and CHOPS! Seven chops again, then goes for another, but Gibson bails out of the ring. Fans boo, but before Gibson can go anywhere, Tyler Bate stands in his way! Gibson backs away from Bate, but turns around into Seven’s CHOP! The Big Strong Boys are together, but Gibson gets Seven’s arm again. Seven breaks free to CHOP again, then puts Gibson in the ring. Gibson gets up but Seven counters the code breaker. Gibson grabs for ropes, then scuffs Seven away. He throat chops Seven and fans boo, but Gibson covers. ONE, so Gibson gets the double wristlock. Seven and Gibson go around as fans sing.

They stand, and Gibson whips, only to yank the arm! Then a shotgun basement dropkick! Gibson taunts Seven now, but fans taunt Gibson. Gibson drags Seven up for a stiff forearm, and Seven ends up in a corner. Bate coaches Seven but Gibson is on him with another double wristlock, to DDT! Cover, TWO! Gibson keeps on Seven with a cobra clutch but fans rally up. Seven endures, fights up, but is brought back to the mat. Fans rally for “Mustache Mountain!” as Seven fights his way up. Seven throws body shots, so Gibson reels him out for an elbow, and a straight arm suplex! Fans boo Gibson and cheer Seven, but Gibson drags Seven up for another forearm. Gibson talks trash, but Seven just clears his ears.

Gibson gives him another forearm, but Seven just fires up. Seven stands up as he takes more forearms and a EuroUpper, to give a back hand! Gibson gives a EuroUpper, Seven gives a back hand, and repeat! Seven ducks to chop, then fires up. Gibson covers up, but gets a DDT!

Fans and Bate fire up for Seven as Gibson gets to a corner. Seven blocks a boot but gets an enziguri. Gibson hops up but Seven enziguris him out! Seven then builds speed to DIVE! He barrels Gibson into barriers, then puts him back in. Seven runs in, big CHOP in the corner. Then a Snap Dragon Suplex, to powerbomb! High stack cover, TWO, into a Half Crab! Seven grabs the other leg and wants a full, but Gibson resists. Seven keeps on the half as Gibson crawls for ropes. Gibson gets the ropebreak so Seven lets off. Gibson slowly stands and Seven is ready. Seven gets the leg, but Gibson turns him around, clutch mount but Seven resists the arm lock. Gibson grinds and pulls, but Seven stands. Seven chops and chops Gibson, but Gibson gets him with the saido suplex! Cover, TWO!

Gibson grows frustrated but fans fire up for Seven. Fans chant “NXT! NXT!” as the two stir. Gibson grabs Seven’s arm, and slaps him across the face. Fans boo as Gibson reels Seven in, but Seven ducks. Seven wrings Gibson out, but Gibson uses a code breaker to the arm! Gibson walks into a SLAP, but he gives one back. Now it’s a palm strike fight back and forth, fast and heavy. Seven gives the back hand, but Gibson gives another throat chop to a clothesline! Gibson grabs Seven, but Seven scoops for a driver! Cover, TWO!! Both men are down again but the fans love this. A standing count begins, and reaches 5 before either man sits up. Seven stands at 7 and goes after Gibson.

Gibson crawls away, then shoves Seven. Seven comes back and has Gibson in a corner, but Gibson scrapes him off. Seven wants more, so he gets another stiff kick. Gibson enziguris, hops up, and leaps for the Ticket to Ride code breaker! Cover, TWO!! Seven survives, but Gibson wants Shankly Gates! Gibson has it on, and Seven is far away from ropes. Bate coaches Seven on and Seven claws and crawls towards his tag partner. Seven shouts as he endures the pain, and is almost there! Gibson pulls hard and Seven comes so close, but he gets the ropebreak! Gibson lets Seven go, and gives a kick to Bate! Bate gets riled up but he keeps his cool as Seven stands. Gibson turns around, into the back hand! And Seven Star Lariat!! Cover, TWO!? Gibson survives?!

But now Seven fires up, and goes for the torture rack. Gibson’s height helps him, then someone attacks Tyler Bate!? It’s James Drake, Gibson’s partner in Grizzled Young Veterans! Seven still rolls Gibson and goes for the Crab, but Gibson counters to a cradle! And Drake helps Gibson hold on!! Gibson wins!!

Winner: Zack Gibson, by pinfall

Liverpool’s Number One steals one with help from Mr. Mayhem!! With the Grizzled Young Veterans together in NXT UK, will they soon take over? Or will Mustache Mountain make them pay?

But wait! The Coffey Brothers & Wolfgang attack! Mustache Mountain is ripe for the picking, and Joe puts Seven in a Half Crab as Wolfie and Mark make Bate watch. Bate fights out, only to get an elbow to the back, and All the Best for the Bells from the front! Fans say “You Suck! Woop Woop!” but the Scottish trio stands tall. Will the Bruiserweight return to help back up the Big Strong Boys? Or will NXT UK truly become the Coffey Kingdom?

My Thoughts:

Another great pair of episodes and we finally get to the real reason behind such double dosing. The NXT Women’s Championship is on its way! Though, clearly there aren’t many women outside of the eight in the tournament. We know from real-time events, [Highlight for Spoilers] Rhea Ripley is the inaugural champion, so don’t expect her to lose at all. Either way, I’d expect Rhea Ripley to meet Dakota Kai in the semifinals, and Toni VS Jinny, but Kai and Jinny will surely lose. Dakota VS Nina was great, and even Jinny VS Millie was good. The rest of the matches will be great, of course, and it’s all very big for the UK Women’s Division to have this title now.

The rest of the night’s matches were highlighted by the story of the coming NXT UK Tag Team Championships, such as making Huxley & Conners a team for now to take on Williams & Amir Jordan. Chances are, these teams will end up the midcard of the Division, though. And we have our top three teams already with The Coffey Brothers, Mustache Mountain, and now Grizzled Young Veterans. One of those three teams will take those titles to be the inaugural champions, but I can’t even be sure Mustache Mountain wins now. The Coffey Brothers are clearly opportunistic enough that they could take advantage of vulnerabilities, but perhaps even Gibson & Drake are savvy enough to do the same. Either way, if it ends up a Triple Threat tag, it’d be amazing. Though, it’ll probably be a tournament, with Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews as the fourth.
