MLW News: Shane Strickland Leaving MLW, His Possible Next Move

Shane Strickland will be finishing with MLW next month!

Earlier today we reported on IMPACT Wrestling’s Trevor Lee finishing up with the promotion at this week’s Las Vegas television tapings and there’s talk that WWE has him on their radar for NXT (read about that here).

It looks like another star from outside of WWE’s umbrella may be on his way in as PWInsider reports today that when Major League Wrestling heads to Miami, Florida on December 13th and 14th for Fusion television tapings, Shane Strickland will be completing his commitments to the promotion.

Back in August it was reported that WWE has interest in Strickland (see that story here) and PWInsider adds that when the company is expected to announce new Performance Center signing in January, the belief is that Shane will be a part of that group starting with NXT. The former MLW World Heavyweight Champion has been quite decorated on the independent scene, also winning the Combat Zone Wrestling World Heavyweight Title, EVOLVE Championship and under the name Killshot, the Lucha Underground Trios Titles on two occasions. At this juncture, Strickland’s involvement at MLW’s Never Say Never and Zero Hour has yet to be made official.
