Referee Jimmy Korderas Guests On Latest Prime Time With Sean Mooney

Former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas is the guest on the newest Prime Time with Sean Mooney!

In this week’s latest episode of Prime Time with Sean Mooney, former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas joined the show to discuss a number of topics during his long career.

Among those topics was the WrestleMania IV incident where Korderas was legitimately knocked out cold during the Brutus Beefcake vs. Honky Tonk Man match. According to the urban legend, Korderas was accidentally knocked out by a shot from Jimmy Hart with his megaphone, so Korderas looked to set the record straight:

“Again, my first WrestleMania, super stoked, Trump Plaza and the Intercontinental Championship match with Honky Tonk Man vs. Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake and there’s a scenario where Brutus gets Honky in his sleeper, which is his finishing hold. Jimmy Hart jumps up on the apron and I argue with him to get down and when I turned around he blasts me in the back with the megaphone and I take a face plant and you know, they go to the finish. Now the rumor out there for a long time was that Jimmy knocked me out with the megaphone, which is not true, I knocked myself out because as I faceplanted I wanted it to look…it’s WrestleMania, you want it to look good. My chin hit the canvas and I guess it hit that right spot and it just…that was it. I was….yep, knocked myself out and you know, Joey [Marella] came out and started shaking me and says, ‘Hey, you’re supposed to call for the bell now’. I don’t remember that. The only thing I remember is oey and Danny Davis dragging me back. That was it.”
