Reported Original Plans For Daniel Bryan At WrestleMania 35

A new report has revealed the original WrestleMania plans for Daniel Bryan!

To say that the last few weeks for the WWE have been hectic is absolutely an understatement. Between Roman Reigns’ leukemia announcement, Evolution, Crown Jewel, a number of injuries, Dean Ambrose turning heel and now Daniel Bryan’s surprising WWE Title victory, plus subsequent heel turn.

As was noted, the decision to put the WWE Championship on Bryan was a call made by Vince McMahon, however the heel turn was actually Daniel’s doing, with the company deciding to pull the trigger on both the same night (see that story here). It also looks like this move has had a big affect on WrestleMania 35 plans as well, which have also been drastically altered due to recent events.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bryan had been pegged to face-off against SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon at the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’, but that is no longer the direction the company is heading. We’ve heard how the long-term goal for Shane’s World Cup win back at Crown Jewel was to turn him heel, but it’s now being said that could be dropped entirely. This comes after it was recently speculated that Bryan could possibly be an opponent for Shawn Michaels, who reportedly is “likely” to have at least one more match (read that story here).
