The decision by the WWE to put the Universal Championship back on Brock Lesnar at their Crown Jewel pay-per-view last Friday is certainly one that has been met with a lot of criticism by the WWE Universe, who had been tired of Lesnar as champion long before he initially lost it at SummerSlam in August.

Following the result of Crown Jewel, a number of reports had come out that perhaps Strowman not winning the title was a decision made based off of possible behavioral issues and not a long-term booking plan. Previously, we noted that ‘The Monster Among Men’ may be having issues with his attendance (read that here), arriving to venues late and leaving early. There were also other reports claiming that Braun was “his own worst enemy”, making some missteps behind-the-scenes when it comes to his etiquette as well.

These words all came from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, who is now clarifying after stating that everything was taken out of context. According to Johnson, there are absolutely zero problems backstage when it comes to Strowman and there is no heat on him whatsoever. He would also explain that in the past there have been reasons why WWE “backed off” on a run at the top for ‘The Monster Among Men’, however there is “zero truth” to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon or the company being “upset” with Braun:

“This was a comment I made discussing some background information as part of a much larger conversation about Lesnar getting the belt, things that have happened in the past and a comparison of Lesnar vs. Braun as well as WWE from a behind the scenes perspective.  It was a few sentences lifted from a two hour plus audio that covered a litany of topics, WWE and beyond, nothing more.”
