Trish Stratus & Lita’s Return Will Help The Women’s Division

If you ask any of the current WWE roster who their favorite female wrestlers were growing up, odds are the answers will be Trish Stratus and Lita.

It’s no surprise that these two names come to mind because Trish Stratus and Lita are considered pioneers in women’s wrestling. During an era where women wrestlers were seen more as eye candy, Trish and Lita set out to prove their more than just pretty faces. The two women showed they could wrestle just as good, if not better than the men.

Their RAW main event match for the Women’s Championship is still one of the most-talked about moments in WWE history. It’s moments like this that help push the Women’s Revolution in wrestling.

While Trish and Lita are retired now, the women do come back to make appearances. When their music hits and they step into the ring, they receive big pops from the crowd. Not only are they still loved by the WWE Universe, but they’ve also garnered a new generation of fans.

Just a few days ago, Trish and Lita competed in a tag match at the historic women’s only PPV Evolution, where they beat the team of Mickie James, Alicia Fox, and Alexa Bliss.

After their PPV match, many believe that Trish and Lita will walk away from WWE and won’t come back until another important event takes place.

However, the two women may be sticking around longer than expected.

According to reports, WWE has plans for Trish and Lita to continue working a program until WrestleMania. The plans are rumored to involve the introduction of the women’s tag titles with Trish and Lita being a top contender for the championship.

In the past, WWE has come under fire for using past stars in programs. The main critique is the legends are part-timers, who come in and are immediately thrown into the main event spotlight.

If Trish and Lita were to return, would they hog the spotlight from the other women?

Given that Trish and Lita are well loved other wrestlers, a return would help both the legends and the current roster. Since their retirement Trish and Lita have been very vocal about the state of women’s wrestling. With the Women’s Revolution in full swing, it’s no surprise that WWE would want two of their biggest stars back to be part of the movement.

Trish and Lita want to see the Women’s Revolution continue and will do anything they can to make sure it happens. Since most of the current crop of female stars have express interest in working with the two women. On a recent episode of RAW, Trish and Lita teamed with Natalya, Sasha Banks, and Bayley in a ten women tag match. Afterwards, Sasha and Bayley posted their joy at having the chance to work with their idols.

With Trish and Lita coming back full-time, there will be more opportunities for the current crop of WWE stars to work with the two legends. Whether they’re taking a beating or teaching the younger talent a lesson, Trish and Lita could be the team to give the women’s division a much needed boost.
