It was previously announced by WWE that the company would be holding its first ever tryouts in Germany (see the announcement here), which kicked off this past Sunday.

Today, the company has released details on the tryouts including who is in attendance. One such name fans may recognize is that of Ilja Dragunov, most known for his work with the United Kingdom’s PROGRESS Wrestling. Here is WWE’s full announcement:

WWE’s first tryout in Germany gets underway

More than 40 men and women are taking their first step toward WWE Superstardom this week at WWE’s historic first-ever talent tryout in Germany.

The tryout, which began Sunday and continues through Wednesday, is being held at Motorworld in Cologne and features athletes representing nearly two dozen different countries. WWE Performance Center Head Coach Matt Bloom, Robbie Brookside and Sarah Stock are leading the camp, and two of NXTs European Superstars, Germany’s Marcel Barthel and Italy’s Fabian Aichner, are on hand to assist with guiding the prospects through the drills.

Athletes attending the camp compose a wide swath of sports and disciplines, including amateur wrestling, mixed martial arts, boxing, strongman competitions, rugby, basketball, handball and bodybuilding. Numerous competitors from Europe’s independent scene are also vying to stand out from the pack.

Among those attending the tryout are:

* Ilja Rukober, better known by the ring name Ilja Dragunov. Born in Russia, Rukober was trained by SmackDown Superstar Alexander Wolfe and made his pro debut six years ago. A former Shotgun Champion for the German-based Westside Xtreme Wrestling, he won the promotion’s 16 Carat Gold Tournament in 2016 and, more recently, wrestled WWE U.K. Champion Pete Dunne in a match for PROGRESS Wrestling.

* Third-generation French grappler Camille Grignon. A ring veteran of eight years, the 25-year-old Grignon has fought against and alongside the likes of former Mae Young Classic competitors Killer Kelly, Jazzy Gabert and Ayesha Raymond. She is also a trapeze artist at a circus school.

* German Strongman Champion Raffael Gordzielik. Gordzielik stands 6-foot-6, weighs 375 pounds and has played semi-professional football, as well as attended camps for NFL Europe.

* Jurn Sijtzema, aka Jurn Simmons, a 6-foot-2, 250-pounder from Heeg, Netherlands. Sijtzema, who attended a WWE tryout in London in 2017, is a former wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion. He has competed in the U.S., the Middle East, and throughout Europe and the U.K.

* 20-year-old French wrestler Edwige Trabouillet, who wrestles professionally under the alias Mila Smidt. Trabouillet was a freestyle grappler and gymnast before turning to sports-entertainment two years ago.

* Independent wrestling veteran Emil Sitoci of Netherlands. With a background in judo and gymnastics, Sitoci moved to the U.S. at age 18 to learn how to wrestle. He has battled the likes of Kevin Owens, Jushin “Thunder” Liger and Billy Gunn.

* Croatia’s Vesna Busic-Chaer, who competes under the alias of Wesna. Busic-Chaer broke into sports-entertainment in 1998 and has wrestled in more than 20 countries, including the U.S. and Japan.

* 28-year-old Christopher Oketch, a 6-foot-3 strongman who has won competitions in Qatar and his native Kenya.

* 23-year-old Aleksandar Jaksic of Munich, who wrestles under the name LX Ken. A former semiprofessional basketball player, Jaksic learned the ropes at Santino Marella’s Battle Arts Academy in Canada. He currently trains under former WCW Cruiserweight, TV and Tag Team champion Alex Wright.

TNA Impact on AMC Drops to 175,000 Viewers, 0.03 18-49 Rating Amid Heavy Sports Competition

Published

on

TNA Thursday Night Impact averaged 175,000 viewers on AMC last week, a 17.5% decline from the previous week’s 212,000 and the lowest audience since January 22. The show posted a 0.03 rating in the key 18-49 demo, down 25% and matching its lowest demo figure on AMC since the move.

The drop coincided with stiff competition — Impact ran opposite the NFL Draft (simulcast on ESPN, ABC and the NFL Network) as well as NHL and NBA playoff coverage, leaving the program tied for 70th on the primetime cable charts. Versus the prior 10-week average (0.04 rating and 240,300 viewers), last week’s show fell 25% in the demo and 27.2% in overall viewers.

Nick Hogan Open to Pursuing In-Ring Career After Viewing Hulk Hogan: Real American

Published

on

Nick Hogan told the Bonus Edition of the 83 Weeks podcast that after watching the final version of Hulk Hogan: Real American he’s more open than ever to stepping into the ring if the opportunity presents itself. Hogan said he’s been knocking off ring rust, is in good shape and “would absolutely welcome” the chance to pursue an in‑ring career, and noted the docuseries — which premiered on Netflix on April 22, 2026 — helped clarify his father’s legacy.

He also praised the series for pulling back the curtain on the many facets of Hulk Hogan, from character work to charitable efforts, saying it showed how dynamic a person his father is. Nick added that the long-discussed Chris Hemsworth biopic from 2019 remains a possibility despite delays, as the documentary continues to renew interest in Hogan’s story.
