WWE News: First NXT UK TakeOver Scheduled For January

The first NXT UK TakeOver event is currently scheduled for January!

As was noted yesterday, the WWE’s NXT UK brand will reportedly be getting their own TakeOver events beginning in 2019, but there was no word on when or where the first one might take place (read the story here).

While it was said that the NXT UK TakeOver shows would be less frequent than the regular NXT TakeOver events, which take place roughly five times a year (Royal Rumble weekend, WrestleMania weekend, Money In The Bank weekend, SummerSlam weekend, Survivor Series weekend). All of that information may have been unavailable yesterday, however today we have some news on when the first NXT UK TakeOver will be happening.

Twitter user @DeiOwen (who reports NXT UK spoilers among other news) has shared the following screen capture of upcoming events for NXT UK, which includes an NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool set for January 13th:

At this time the show has yet to be confirmed by WWE, however an announcement has been teased for tonight or tomorrow night’s NXT UK television tapings in Liverpool, the last of 2018 with what appears to be their next set taking place on January 12th. Reportedly, the NXT UK TakeOver shows will not be what the announcement is regarding (find more on that here), however it was not confirmed.
