WWE News: How Jim Neidhart’s Passing Changed Plans For Ronda Rousey

Details on a storyline for Ronda Rousey being dropped by WWE!

It’s been a number of weeks now since the on-screen friendship between RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Natalya seemingly disintegrated, as the two have been moved in separate directions after being paired together on WWE television.

To many members of the WWE Universe it seemed a foregone conclusion that Natalya would eventually turn against her friend, however that never came to fruition and when Nattie’s legendary father, Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart, passed away in mid-August, the two began going in new directions. It now looks like the untimely passing of ‘The Anvil’ played a huge direction in WWE’s storylines.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the angle was in fact going to wind up with Natalya turning heel on ‘Rowdy’ Ronda, but when ‘The Anvil’ passed on it caused the company to change directions, feeling that they could no longer pull the trigger on it. Additionally, it was said that the heel turn would have taken place right around this time and Nattie would have been Ronda’s next challenger, but ultimately the decision was made to go back to another Rousey vs. Nia Jax feud.

EA’s Take: I don’t think it’s a secret that Nattie was going to turn on Ronda, seemingly everyone saw it coming from a mile away. Did WWE make the right call in changing gears because of Jim Neidhart’s death? Who’s to say, but I can say that what’s going on with Nia Jax right now is probably a lot more interesting than what we would have gotten with Nattie/Rousey, even though it would have been a new match we haven’t seen.

Post-WrestleMania WWE Raw Draws Highest Viewership of 2026 So Far

Published

on

The post-WrestleMania edition of WWE Raw delivered a significant ratings boost, drawing the highest viewership totals for Raw in 2026 to date. The strong audience was widely expected following the momentum from WrestleMania.

The uptick highlights the continued power of WWE’s flagship events to lift weekly ratings and gives Raw momentum heading into the spring television season. WWE will aim to sustain that interest in the coming weeks.

Paul Wight Reveals Weight Loss, Sets Sights on 350 Pounds

Published

on

Standing seven feet tall and a veteran of WWE and AEW, Paul Wight told TalkSport before AEW’s All In at Wembley that he’s down to “only 383 (pounds) now” and is aiming to “get down to about 350.” The 54-year-old noted the progress on his transformation, saying “we’re doing good” as he continues to trim weight.

Wight also joked about a new career goal of modeling for Calvin Klein’s big-and-tall line, quipping about the brand’s sizing. Earlier this year he discussed different weight figures, including reaching 293 pounds in February 2026, and has said he’s dropped roughly 20 pounds in the past two months; Wight last wrestled in 2024 on the Jericho Cruise and remains a regular on AEW commentary while talking about his future with Chris Van Vliet.
