WWE News: More On AJ Styles’ Contract Talks, Not Scheduled For SmackDown

Even more details on AJ Styles’ WWE contract have been reported!

As was noted earlier, WWE Superstar AJ Styles has been reported to be negotiating a new deal with the company that would see him have a lighter schedule (check that out here).

Now, Mike Johnson of PWInsider is seconding that report, at least about the contract negotiations, while adding that Styles’ future has been a talking point behind-the-scenes. It was noted that ‘The Phenomenal One’ was not in attendance for last night’s Survivor Series and currently isn’t scheduled for tomorrow night’s SmackDown Live. As for some rumors there may have been a “contractual issue” with regards to WWE, it’s being said those are completely false and AJ was just being given some time off.

Also an interesting note is that Johnson adds there’s word that Styles’ WWE deal expires in April and not earlier as previously thought. Currently, the belief still remains that AJ will be staying with the company due to his current position and pay.

EA’s Take: Now that PWInsider is seconding the contract negotiation story, it further cements my belief that it is indeed factual. Why wouldn’t WWE be looking to lock him up right now? I think like we’ve seen with others, there will probably be a lot of back-and-forth between Styles and WWE about how many dates he works. Outside of that I’d be completely shocked if he were to go someplace else.
