How did last night’s WWE Monday Night RAW do in the ratings?

For two consecutive weeks now, WWE’s Monday Night RAW has been able to slowly increase its ratings despite heavy competition, especially last week up against arguably the most anticipated NFL game of the regular season (check out last week’s ratings here). With last night’s RAW being widely criticized, could the upward trend continue?

The Monday night numbers are in and the red brand’s viewership heads back down with a 2.368, a decrease of 5% from last week. Here’s a peek at the last four weeks of ratings for Monday Night RAW:

• November 5th: 2.441
• November 12th: 2.449
• November 19th: 2.493
• November 26th: 2.368

Monday Night RAW was also able to move up in the Cable Top 150 Rankings for the 18-49 demographic last week, occupying the number four spot after weeks at number five. However just like the rating, we’re going back down as the red brand comes in 5th, 6th and 7th this week. Here was this week’s top five:

1. Monday Night Football – ESPN – 3.08
2. Monday Night Kickoff – ESPN – 1.18
3. SportsCenter (12AM) – ESPN – 1.07
4. Love & Hip Hop – VH1 – 0.94
5. Monday Night RAW – USA Network – 0.85

EA’s Take: While some might say there are no excuses for the way this week’s RAW went down, in reality there are actually a couple. The main one is of course, injuries. Roman’s out. Braun’s out. Alexa’s out. Owens is out. Sami’s out. Add on top of that Lesnar’s your champion again and not around. Plus, the direction of TLC weighs heavily on Strowman’s status, which WWE wouldn’t have known until Tuesday. Also, I’ve previously mentioned that this time of year gets slow with the holidays, so all of these things factor in to poor programming. Just remember everybody, it’s only a few more weeks until we begin the build to Royal Rumble and things will pick up again.
