WWE News: Rumor Killer On Kalisto Suffering An Injury At Survivor Series
There was talk that Kalisto was injured during the Survivor Series Kickoff!
Before WWE’s Survivor Series pay-per-view broadcast last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the action got underway on the Kickoff with RAW versus SmackDown Live in a 10-Team Survivor Series Elimination Match (check out Mitchell’s Survivor Series Report).
During the match that pitted RAW’s Bobby Roode and Chad Gable, Lucha House Party, The Ascension, The Revival and The B-Team against SmackDown Live’s Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, The Usos, The Colons, SAnitY and The New Day, Kalisto appeared to have hurt his knee. While the action continued, ‘The King Of Flight’ was subsequently swapped out for Gran Metalik before Lucha House Party eventually got eliminated.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Kalisto was actually injured and an audible was called to put Metalik into the match instead of having Lince Dorado go it alone for the trio. However, that has since been disputed as PWInsider reports that he is not injured and it was simply part of the booking of the match. Additionally, it was noted that Kalisto was “just fine” backstage.
EA’s Take: Holy cow, people can not possibly be this gullible, can they? If you tuned into the Kickoff match, it seemed pretty obvious to me that Kalisto’s “injury” was simply a part of the story of it all. Meltzer had to have gotten some bad information or something. I’m not his biggest fan and I feel like he throws crap against the wall a lot to see what will stick, but he can’t possibly be stupid enough to have actually believed there was a real injury there.
