WWE News: SmackDown Live Rating Sees Big Increase, Goes Back To #1 (11/13/18)

SmackDown Live
A peek at this week’s SmackDown Live viewership!

Last week saw WWE SmackDown Live become a victim of Election Night here in the United States as its rating dropped and the program was knocked far away from the Cable Top 150 Rankings in the 18-49 demographic (see last week’s here).

The numbers are in for last night’s edition of SmackDown Live and we’ve got quite a change with an overall rating of 2.312, good for a 10.7% increase over last week. Here’s a look at the last four weeks of ratings for the blue brand:

  • October 23rd: 2.087
  • October 30th: 2.110
  • November 6th: 2.088
  • November 13th: 2.312

As for the Cable Top 150 Rankings in the 18-49 demographic, things are back to normal after last week’s aberration with SmackDown Live taking back its usual number one spot. Here was last night’s top five:

  1. SmackDown Live – USA Network – 0.80
  2. The Curse Of Oak Island (9PM) – History – 0.66
  3. Below Deck – Bravo – 0.53
  4. The Challenge: Final Reckoning – MTV – 0.51
  5. The Curse Of Oak Island (8PM) – History – 0.39

EA’s Take: Just like that, all’s right with the world again, right? Last week was really an outlier if you were to look at the past few months for the blue brand when it comes to the Cable Top 150 Rankings and their share of the 18-49 demographic. It was only ever going to be a brief, one week stay away from not just the top spot overall, but the top five even. I will say, I think a lot of what we’re seeing here is thanks in part to RAW on Monday and the way the show ended with Becky Lynch getting bloodied during a SmackDown vs. RAW brawl. News sprinkled out that she was going to be removed from Survivor Series, which was confirmed to open the show. WWE then hit us with a huge WWE Championship match announcement right after that, giving more incentive for fans to stick around on top of finding out who Becky’s replacement would be.

MJF Accepts Darby Allin’s Challenge, World Title Match Set for AEW Double or Nothing

Published

on

This week’s AEW Dynamite was headlined by an intense AEW World Championship bout as Darby Allin narrowly escaped with the victory over Konosuke Takeshita to retain the title. Following the match, Allin called out MJF and demanded he come to the ring to sign the contract for a championship showdown.

MJF answered the challenge, accepting Allin’s stipulation and putting pen to paper to make the title match official for Double or Nothing, setting the stage for a high-profile main event at the upcoming pay-per-view.
