WWE News: Starrcade Match Stipulation Changed, Another Match Added

Published

on

WWE Starrcade
One match has been added to WWE Starrcade while another has been changed!

Today is Thanksgiving, which means that we’re only two days away from WWE’s second-annual Starrcade Live Event, emanating this year from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Since the announcement of the event, the card has seen a few changes due to injuries to SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Braun Strowman (read about those here), who were scheduled to face Charlotte Flair and Baron Corbin respectively. That would leave both Corbin and Charlotte with nothing set for the show, although ‘The Queen’ was still being advertised to appear while the Acting RAW General Manager was not.

Today, more changes have been made to the Starrcade lineup as Charlotte has now been announced for a match that will pit her up against ‘The Empress Of Tomorrow’ Asuka. Additionally, the previously scheduled Street Fight for the Intercontinental Championship in which Seth Rollins will defend against Dean Ambrose has been changed and will not instead take place inside the confines of a Steel Cage.

Here’s a look at the updated lineup for WWE Starrcade which will air as a one hour special on the WWE Network Sunday night at 8PM EST. Also scheduled to appear, but not on the card right now are Alexa Bliss, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Sasha Banks and Bayley:

Steel Cage Match for the Intercontinental Championship
(C) Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose

Steel Cage Match
AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe

United States Championship
(C) Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rey Mysterio

MizTV
The Miz w/Rey Mysterio & Shinsuke Nakamura

SmackDown Tag Team Championship
(C) The Bar vs. The New Day

Drew McIntyre vs. Finn Balor

Rusev vs. The Miz

Elias In Concert
With Special Guest Ric Flair

Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair

Family and friends of Marc Izard, a British wrestling fan who died during WWE WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas, launched a GoFundMe to cover repatriation and funeral costs. The fundraiser has reached €16,235 (about $19,000) of its €30,000 goal, with organizers stating any remaining funds will be donated in Marc’s memory to Diabetes UK, Addenbrooke’s Hospital Charitable Trust and the Make‑A‑Wish Foundation.

Notable contributors include Chris Jericho (€1,100), Gabe Kidd (Gabe McMenamin, €1,000) and Natalya Neidhart (€258). The GoFundMe page reads, “Marc traveled the world for wrestling. Now, we just want to bring him home one last time,” and thanks supporters for their kindness, prayers and support.
