WWE News: Update On Brock Lesnar’s Immediate WWE Future
We have a new WWE Universal Champion after yesterday’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, as Brock Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman to win the vacant title and become the first two-time holder of the Universal Title.
Now of course, this has left a lot of fans unhappy, as they’re reminded of Lesnar’s last reign that ended at SummerSlam when he lost to the now-former champion, Roman Reigns, in what was believed to be his last appearance for WWE for a while as he preps to head back to the UFC. Despite Lesnar’s title victory, it’s still expected that he will be going back into the octagon sometime in early-2019, but according to a new report that may get pushed back.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ has still not officially signed a UFC deal and is currently scheduled for two more WWE appearances, one of which comes on November 18th at Survivor Series when he faces WWE Champion AJ Styles in a Champion vs. Champion, non-title match. As for the other appearance, that remains to be seen, however Meltzer speculated that could come either at the Royal Rumble in January or at WrestleMania 35 in April.
Additionally, there have been a lot of fans who weren’t just unhappy with Lesnar winning the title, but the manner in which he did it, feeling as if his opponent, Braun Strowman, got “buried” or “squashed” in the process. Meltzer would note that the idea behind the booking of the match was to make it look as if Strowman “survived” multiple F-5’s before finally being pinned.
EA’s Take: I actually had to walk away from social media yesterday because the Twitter warriors (or as I refer to them, the Twitter idiots) were out in full force. It’s amazing to me how many people claim to be an “expert”, but can’t pick up on something so simple like the booking of that match. Or maybe people just don’t actually understand what a “burial” or a “squash” is. I can tell you what it’s not…it’s NOT a guy being attacked from behind before the match with a foreign object who then kicks out of Brock Lesnar’s finishing move three times, takes a fourth over the top rope to the floor and still beats the referee’s count before finally getting pinned after a FIFTH F-5. I mean, really people. #UseYourHead isn’t just a catchy hashtag.

MJF Accepts Darby Allin’s Challenge, World Title Match Set for AEW Double or Nothing
This week’s AEW Dynamite was headlined by an intense AEW World Championship bout as Darby Allin narrowly escaped with the victory over Konosuke Takeshita to retain the title. Following the match, Allin called out MJF and demanded he come to the ring to sign the contract for a championship showdown.
MJF answered the challenge, accepting Allin’s stipulation and putting pen to paper to make the title match official for Double or Nothing, setting the stage for a high-profile main event at the upcoming pay-per-view.
