WWE News: WWE Reportedly Planning NXT UK TakeOvers in 2019

WWE is said to be planning NXT UK TakeOver specials for 2019!

It was a long wait for WWE fans in the United Kingdom since the inaugural United Kingdom Championship Tournament in January 2017 until the brand was renamed NXT UK and given its own weekly show on the WWE Network, premiering on October 17th.

Following last Saturday night’s NXT TakeOver: War Games II, Triple H spoke on a conference call and brought up that there would be “more” of NXT UK coming in 2019, but didn’t elaborate any further on what that could mean (see Triple H’s conference call highlights).

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s not known if it was exactly what Triple H was referring to, but currently WWE is planning for NXT UK to have their own TakeOver specials next year. Recently, we’ve seen weeks where multiple episodes of NXT UK have aired on Wednesdays in an effort to “catch up” with so much of the product already being taped ahead of time.

At this time, it’s being said that the NXT UK TakeOver specials would not be like the regular NXT TakeOver events where they happen every few months, but that could certainly be changed. It’s also not yet known when and where the first NXT UK TakeOver could take place.
