WWE Rumors: Shane McMahon Being Replaced At Survivor Series?

Could Shane McMahon be removed from Survivor Series in favor of another Superstar?

WWE’s annual November tradition, Survivor Series, is coming up this Sunday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will pit RAW versus SmackDown Live in champion against champion and brand against brand battles.

Along with each brand’s women and tag teams, there will be a Men’s Elimination Match that is currently scheduled to see Baron Corbin’s RAW team of Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley take on SmackDown Live’s Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe. If you remember, last Monday before any team members were announced it was reported that the blue brand’s squad would be the same Superstars mentioned before with one exception, Randy Orton instead of Shane McMahon (check out the report here).

It appears as if there’s still a good chance that Orton could be put in place of McMahon this Sunday, maybe even tonight on SmackDown Live, as Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that as of the past 48 hours, it’s still being said that ‘The Viper’ will be swapped in place of ‘Shane-O-Mac’, but it’s possible a last-minute change could be made.

EA’s Take: It only makes sense for Orton to be taking Shane’s place, just remember back to how last week’s SmackDown Live ended with Randy popping up for some RKOs. He’s got a history of being victorious in Survivor Series Elimination Matches going all the way back to 2003 and most recently helping the blue brand get a win in 2016. I’m sure it will play into this very slow heel turn for Shane in some fashion as well.
