WWE Rumors: Shawn Michaels Reportedly ‘Likely’ To Have At Least One More Match

There’s now talk that Shawn Michaels will have “at least” one more match!

WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels’ first match since 2010 back at Crown Jewel on November 2nd was certainly not met with the type of fanfare WWE hoped, both due to the controversy surrounding the event and how the subsequent match played out.

While going into the event it was believed that ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ would eventually have another match against The Undertaker after Crown Jewel if everything went well (check that story out here), the sentiment after the match was much different. With Triple H getting injured and ‘HBK’ narrowly avoiding one himself, it was reported that another match for Michaels was now in jeopardy (read that story here). However, there’s now been word going back the other way on that.

According to Brad Shepard on the Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, one source has indicated to him that the multi-time WWE Champion wrestling again is “more than likely”. Reportedly, Michaels will wrestle “at least once, maybe more” and there are three opponents on the table: The Undertaker, AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan. It should be noted that it was not indicated when another match would be taking place, but the most likely options would be January’s Royal Rumble or WrestleMania 35 in April.

EA’s Take: I’ve made it pretty clear that I never wanted Shawn to come back in the first place, but what’s done is done now and on that note, nothing would surprise me. If anything, I think recent events have made it more likely that Michaels wrestles again. You’ve got Roman out and in all likelihood Triple H won’t be back in time, so I think WWE goes even harder after part-timers/legends for WrestleMania. Brock will be there, then I think we see Taker, Cena, Angle. I think they still pursue Rocky, Trish and Lita will probably do something in the ring.
