Can Rollins vs. Ambrose Be Redeemed?

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins haven’t delivered on their feud as many expected. Carol weighs in on if it can be redeemed.

When Dean Ambrose turned heel the night Roman Reigns made his leukemia announcement, it was one of the most shocking moments in WWE history. Fans had been anticipating Dean’s turn for a while, but wasn’t expecting it to happen on that night. That moment led to Dean becoming one of the most hated heels on RAW and set up what was sure to be a heated feud with him and Seth Rollins.

However, this past Sunday the two men had a match for the Intercontinental Championship at WWE TLC. Despite giving it their all inside the ring, the two men were met with “boring” chants from the crowd. You can’t fault Ambrose and Rollins, the men did what they were supposed to do, fight.

If anyone is to blame it’s WWE themselves.

They had a chance to make this personal feud between two former stable mates a bloodfest, instead it was met with disappointment.

The feud started out promising with Rollins coming out demanding answers and Ambrose playing mind games to get into The Architect’s head. Then WWE decided to make Dean a germophobe by getting shots from a physician or coming to the ring in a gas mask for fear of getting infected from the audience. Those segments made Ambrose seem more like his wacky self instead of the vicious heel fans expected.

Add in the fact that their TLC match didn’t have a stipulation and was placed at the wrong time on the PPV, and it’s no surprise that it didn’t live up to expectations.

So after their disastrous match at TLC, does this mean that Seth and Dean’s feud is over?

Based on their interaction this past Monday night, it seems like their feud will continue. For how long is anybody’s guess.

With the Ambrose and Rollins rivalry carrying on, WWE has a chance to redeem this storyline.

In order to do that, they have to do a few things.

The first is to give Ambrose and Rollins more freedom. When the two feuded the first time around, Rollins and Ambrose went all out with their promos and their brawls. With their current feud it feels like they’ve been held back. Since Ambrose and Rollins are two of their top stars, WWE should allow them the creative freedom with their promos and matches.

Another way to improve the feud is to give Ambrose and Rollins more airtime. Dean’s heel turn on Seth should’ve been the biggest storyline on RAW. Instead their feud took a backseat to Baron Corbin’s quest to be GM or Bobby Lashley feud with Elias. No offense to these men, but their storylines weren’t that exciting to take up an hour’s worth of RAW.

Ambrose and Rollins can put on stellar performances, it’s just WWE’s booking that is making this feud dull. With big changes rumored to be happening in the new year, let’s hope that one of those plans include something big for Dean and Seth. If given a second chance and the right material,Dean and Seth could once again be one of the most explosive feuds in WWE.
