WWE News: Reported Reason For Nick Miller’s Release, Plans for Shane Thorne

Why did Nick Miller of The Mighty get released from NXT?

As was noted yesterday, NXT Superstar Nick Miller was reportedly released from his WWE contract after it was discovered that his profile had been removed from WWE.com (see the story here).

While any details on the situation have been very scarce, however some light has finally been shed on the subject according to a new report. As reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Miller’s wife, who still lives in Australia, recently had a baby back in August and when Miller went to visit, instead of coming back to the United States he requested and was granted his release. Reportedly, the door is open for him to return in the future should he decide to do so.

Now of course that leaves his former tag team partner Shane Thorne in a tough spot, as the two have been synonymous with each other after teaming for years. As for his future, it was noted that WWE does have plans for a singles career for Thorne.

EA’s Take: This is a pretty unusual situation. While I can’t relate because I’ve been single for like, 10 years, I would think that Miller would have moved his wife with him to the USA at some point over the last couple years of his career. I mean, has he been taking trips all the way back to Australia this whole time or vice versa for the Mrs? Regardless, I’ve always felt that Thorne would be the one to breakout if The Mighty was ever split-up. He always seemed to be the much more charismatic/outgoing one of the two. Know where he would be great? NXT UK or if he dropped a little weight, 205 Live.
