Breaking News: John Cena To Miss Royal Rumble
There has been some speculation this week if John Cena would be competing in the Royal Rumble match, however, WWE.com has confirmed that Cena will be missing the Royal Rumble due to an ankle injury.
According to WWE.com:
Cena first sustained the left ankle injury during the main event of the Jan. 14 episode of Raw. In that match, the 16-time World Champion faced Finn Bálor, Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre for the right to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the WWE Royal Rumble event
Jason’s Take:
This will be a blow to the Rumble match, however, the match has as much talent as it than in the previous few years. Cena’s name wasn’t being discussed as the winner of the match, however, it could be assumed he would be used to legitimize a talent in the Rumble.
