Has Braun Strowman Lost His Momentum?

Ever since the Crown Jewel event he’s been on a downward spiral. Carol let’s us know what’s going on with The Monster Among Men.

Braun Strowman is one of WWE’s most popular wrestlers. His transformation into a top WWE guy has been astounding. He originally started as a member of The Wyatt Family, but his time with the group was short-lived when he was moved to RAW during the 2016 draft.

When Braun began his singles career, many critics believed he’d be nothing more than a jobber. Braun had the big guy look, which is what Vince McMahon likes in wrestlers. But as for personality and charisma, it was hard for the audience to connect with him.

But all that changed when he feuded with Roman Reigns. Despite being a heel, fans cheered for Braun because they wanted someone to win against the over pushed Reigns. Braun became WWE’s next breakout star and showed that he had what it took to become champion.

Despite being popular with the crowd and winning the approval of WWE higher-ups, Braun failed to become champion. He did win the RAW tag team championships at WrestleMania 34, but that doesn’t count since his partner was a kid and they had to relinquish the titles the next night.

He had numerous opportunities at the Universal Championship, yet always came up short in his quest for the belt. After Reigns had to relinquish the championship, it was believed Braun would have his turn as champion. But at Crown Jewel, Braun once again came up short when Brock Lesnar pinned The Monster Among Men.

An elbow injury unfortunately cost Braun his chance at the championship and took him out of his upcoming rematch at Royal Rumble.

When Braun does return, there’s no telling what the WWE will have planned for him. But after his string of bad luck, it’s obvious Braun Strowman is losing his momentum.

I have to admit I wasn’t a fan of Strowman at first, but over time he grew on me. Braun had everything to be a WWE champion, yet the company failed to strike while the iron was hot. There were plenty of opportunities to put the title on him; however WWE just used him to further advance Reigns and Lesnar as the powerhouses of the company.

It’s bad enough that Strowman had to play second fiddle to Lesnar, but it also didn’t help that he was put in cringe worthy segments. Who could forget him trapping Kevin Owens in a porta potty, then tipping it off the stage.

Segments like these is why fans aren’t taking Strowman serious anymore. Reading the comments on social media, it appears that most of the WWE Universe is becoming bored with Braun. It’s a shame to see fans turning on Braun, but due to WWE’s horrendous booking, it was only a matter of time before it happened.

Is it possible for Braun Strowman to regain his momentum?

I believe it can be done, however WWE needs to be careful with how they book him. Personally, I think it’s better if they have Strowman start from the bottom and slowly work his way back to the top again, and maybe just maybe win the championship he’s tried so hard to win.
