Reported Original Double Or Nothing Plans, Possible Timeframe For Other AEW Events

Reported original plans for All Elite Wrestling’s Double Or Nothing and more!

Now that we know the date of the first show for All Elite Wrestling on May 25th with Double Or Nothing, as well as its location in Las Vegas and location of the company’s second event in Jacksonville, today there is more news regarding these and future AEW events.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, his original reported Double Or Nothing location of the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was the plan (see that story here), however due to concerns that it could interfere with a possible playoff schedule for the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, AEW decided on the smaller MGM Grand. As for why Las Vegas was selected for the promotion’s first event besides the obvious play of words with Double Or Nothing, Meltzer adds that much like Chicago for All In, Las Vegas will get more fans to fly in from out of state.

As for the All Elite Wrestling’s unnamed, second event that will take place in Jacksonville with a portion of the house going to victims of gun violence, Meltzer reports that the current plan is for the show to take place sometime in or near July.

Lastly, Meltzer is also reporting that there’s a third event being planned and speculates that Chicago’s Sears Centre could be the destination once again with Labor Day weekend the likely date as an anniversary of sorts for All In. Reportedly, not only will Double Or Nothing be on pay-per-view, but the Jacksonville and speculated Chicago events would as well.
