WWE News: More Details On Injury To AOP’s Akam, How Long He’ll Be Out Of Action
More details on the recent injury to AOP’s Akam!
As we noted over the weekend, former RAW Tag Team Champions AOP have not been seen on WWE television since a Fatal 4-Way Match on RAW back in mid-December and there last appearance for the company in any fashion coming at the December 26th Live Event in Madison Square Garden.
Over the weekend, it was revealed that the tandem was off of the road as Akam has been dealing with an undisclosed leg injury that reportedly would keep him out for “at least a few months” (see the story here). Today, some more details have been revealed on Akam’s status, as well as how long he’s expected to be on the shelf.
According to Bryan Alvarez on the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Akam recently underwent a knee surgery in the past week. Additionally, Akam is expected to be off for two months to recover.
At this time, there’s still no word on what will become of the other half of AOP, Rezar, during this down time. Currently, it’s speculated he could begin to work Live Events, possibly on one side of 6-Man Tag Team contests, but again that is just speculation.
