Dean Ambrose: Underappreciated Star Of WWE

Ever since AEW was announced, there have been rumors that several WWE superstars are planning their exit. One of the wrestlers who could be jumping ship is WWE’s top star Dean Ambrose. The latest news is that Dean Ambrose is frustrated with the company and plans to leave either before or after WrestleMania. Dean Ambrose’s possible exit from WWE is sending shockwaves across the wrestling community and it’s also became the topic for this week’s article.

There’s no denying that Dean Ambrose is one of WWE’s most popular stars and a true workhorse. Since debuting with The Shield, it was obvious that Ambrose along with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins was destined to be a star. However, following the group’s split; Ambrose’s career has been hit or miss.

He did accomplish a lot, he was the main focus of Smackdown following the brand split and he’s a Grand Slam Champion. However, Ambrose’s accomplishments always took a backseat to Reigns and Rollins.

Rollins was the center of attention following The Shield’s split as he became a heel authority figure. During his feud with Ambrose, he always came out on top, while Dean continued to be the underdog. As for Reigns, WWE was focused on making him the new face of WWE and they gave Reigns the championship opportunities when it should’ve been Ambrose in the main event picture.

While Reigns had the look and Rollins had the athleticism, Dean Ambrose is the one who connected with fans. Every Dean Ambrose fan knows he’s had a tough life and his passion for wrestling is what saved him. Seeing him overcome the odds is what made fans cheer for him. When Ambrose returned from a life-threatening injury, the pop he received was enormous.

But since his return, his career has taken a nosedive. His failed heel turn and feud with Seth Rollins has hurt him tremendously. Instead of being portrayed as a vicious heel, he’s been thrown into more cringeworthy comedy acts. It’s the lack of creative control for his character that has led Dean Ambrose to make the decision to leave.

As the story continues to develop, there’s lots of questions to be answered.

The first is if the situation is real or if this is a week. This past Monday on RAW, seeds were planted for a possible Dean vs. Triple H match at WrestleMania. WWE could be recreating another CM Punk type storyline with Ambrose. Another question is Dean’s future if he does leave. His triceps injury has caused concern if Dean’s health is worse than he’s letting on. If so, Dean could possibly take early retirement.

But if Dean is healthy, he has plenty of options if he wants to continue wrestling. AEW is a top contender to snatch up Ambrose and he’d be a top star at the company and would have the creative freedom he wants.

The Ambrose story has fans anxious to see what’s next for the star, but whatever happens this should be a wake-up call to WWE that if that they need to stop under-utilizing their wrestlers.
