Should WWE Add Charlotte Flair To The First Women’s WrestleMania Main Event?

Juan Carlos Reneo checks in to ask the burning question: to Charlotte, or not Charlotte? Do you add Charlotte Flair to the presumed WrestleMania main event?

For quite some time now we’ve known that the WrestleMania 35 main event would involve Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch and Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Reports have told us the plan is to add Charlotte Flair to this historic match…but should Charlotte be part of this match?

In Favor of Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is with no doubt one of the best female wrestlers of WWE and the business history and her match record of great performances with most women of the roster help her case for her inclusion to this historic match. Charlotte being in the match would help the quality of the match in a significant amount and will help specially Ronda Rousey. Ronda Rousey during her match with Bayley on last week’s RAW, saw a very sloppy performance by her and it could be made the case she didn’t have time to practice and the crowd was not of her side and both factors affected her a lot.

Ronda Rousey will have a lot of pressure during this match because like it or nor she will be the heel in this feud with Becky Lynch and fans in both arenas and in social media have made it clear with booing the former UFC champion, Charlotte has proven she can also be a amazing heel and this would only make things more interesting and a difficult challenge of Becky Lynch to overcome.

Against Charlotte Flair

During last week’s RAW the promo exchange between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch was one of the highlights of the show and both women delivered great promos but most important the crowd was into the idea of a singles match over a triple threat. Another thing to consider both Lynch and Rousey have been building up this feud in social media for quite some time now and most of this interactions have been a great way to build up this dream match the problem comes that Charlotte made a few interactions into this twitter war Ronda and Lynch are having from time to time but she was never really part of this feud and looking now that was a huge mistake from her and she should’ve done more to help her case.

Another against Charlotte case is the fact her addition to this match leaves a big hole for the SmackDown women’s title and current champion Asuka does not have a credible opponent for the championship she has, and unless they build someone from Smackdown to the levels of Becky and Charlotte but looking to Smackdown’s women’s roster no one is credible right now. A WrestleMania rematch between Asuka and Charlotte would be a interesting match for the WrestleMania card and fans would not be disappointed to see this match again.

Final Take

In my opinion I would prefer a singles feud between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. So, we separate Charlotte and Becky for a while and not keep going to the same feud over and over again. The addition of Charlotte is understandable as well since she has been a constant factor in the success of women’s wrestling in WWE and she is being on the WrestleMania main event would be a gift for her consistency. Only time will tell what direction WWE will go but most likely is a triple treat match for the first ever women’s WrestleMania main event.
