Final Inductee Of 2019 Hall Of Fame Class Revealed

It looks like the final inductee has been revealed for the upcoming hall of fame class. A radio station in New York, Z100 has been airing commercials hyping the hall of fame, naming the inductees. One of the names being advertised is Brutus The Barber Beefcake. It had been revealed by the WrestleVotes Twitter account a few weeks ago that Brutus would be an inductee this year.

Jason’s Take

Many consider Beefcake to be Hulk Hogan’s lackey. While you could make the argument either way, Beefcake did have a run as a tag team champion with Greg Valentine in the 80’s, and was a mid carder with the WWF as a singles competitor. I would imagine Hogan will be the induct Beefcake, but they did have a very ugly spat last year that played out in the media.

Dana Brooke Considered Quitting WWE?

On the Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia podcast, Dana Brooke revealed she had thought about leaving WWE a few weeks ago.  (Thanks to #ProWrestlingSheet for the transcription)

“In life, you’re always gonna have obstacles put in your path. I am a prime example. Ever since I was a little girl to where I am now, you control your own destiny. As much as WWE — they kind of guide you on a path of where you’re gonna be lead to and where your path is gonna go,” Brooke said on the podcast.

“When I was told that ‘your match isn’t happening,’ at that point in time I was just like ‘No. This place does not define me. I am stronger than this. I wanna go to prove to the world that you can’t keep me down.’”

“I said ‘You know something, if I quit now, what kind of example am I gonna be for everyone that’s followed me. Who’s supported me. Who’s been my backbone through the hardest time’,” she added. “I cannot give up now.”

Jason’s Take

I said last week that I felt that WWE has underutilized Brooke since her call-up from NXT, and a return there could be beneficial for her as she was always a solid performer. I don’t understand what exactly happened, as she has an athletic look/background, is attractive, isn’t horrible on the mic, and can actually wrestle.

Joey Ryan A Free Agent

Love him or hate him, Joey Ryan generates headlines. Ryan has been recently granted his release from Lucha Underground and his now a free agent according to his Twitter.

Jason’s Take

Ryan is friends with many involved in AEW, and has also been on the Being The Elite web series. A move to AEW seems very possible for Ryan.

Kofi Kingston Comments On Leaked WrestleMania Advertisement

Yesterday in the news shuffle, I discussed the leaked advertisement of Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston facing off at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship. Kofi Kingston took to Twitter to comment today:

Last week the gauntlet match was also advertised to kick off the show. It did not. Vince has been messing with us for a while now. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was just more of the same. https://t.co/txc08S3aEZ

We know Kofi will be facing Bryan at WrestleMania. As I write this shuffle, a tag team gauntlet match has been announced, and if the New Day wins, Kofi gets his match at WreslteMania.
