7 Days of ‘Mania: Why This PPV Must Hit On All Cylinders
Even amongst the typical WrestleMania buzz, there’s still room for questions. A great card on paper, but is that enough. Does this ‘Mania need to hit it out of the park?

It won’t be long now. It’s Friday and only two days from WrestleMania 35. The fan in me he’s getting a little more excited. The writer in me is waiting to find out what happens next.
There are some loose ends still left to be tied. Most notably, there is no defined role for John Cena. The Undertaker appears to be a faded memory. And will this really be Kurt Angle’s last match? Most of all, why is there such a spectacle around it given Cena is not a part of it – so far?
As you look at the card, which seems to be a mile long you have to believe there will be some changes. Matches will be shorter. And because of these last-minute details, there is the possibility of a misstep or a failed outcome.
I was reading the other day that Jim Ross had signed with AEW. It’s a huge move for the upstart promotion. His lack of a presence at an event like this in WWE is sorely missed. I have always considered Ross and Gordon Solie the two greatest announcers in the business. Having him describe how business is picking up in this company is just what fans need and want to hear.
Does an overflow of matches mean fans will become restless? I’m curious about how the company is going to sustain momentum. And what happens to the match that follows Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan? Will there be as much pop for Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins if they are sandwiched between the WWE Championship match and the Women’s Title match between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch?
For everything WWE has done this year to change its format and give the fans better story angles and better programs involving rising superstars, this has to be one of the best WrestleMania events of all time. Not just the outcome of the matches, but how everything comes together. At the end of the night, we should look back at everything that happened, catch our breath collectively, and think this was the best wrestling pay-per-view we have seen in ages.
If not, everything that this company has built over the past four months will be worthless. This New Era of both men’s and women’s wrestling that this company has preached will have taken a major step backward.
Even with all the pomp and circumstance and star power, on a night that is the biggest show in the wrestling business, anything short of an “A” rating will be considered a failure.
