King: Monday Night Raw Becomes The Firefly Funhouse

Chris King breaks down how Bray Wyatt/The Fiend has morphed the flagship show of WWE into his sick and twisted version Firefly Funhouse. 

The WWE Universe has bared witness to many horrifying and bizarre moments such as The Undertaker crucifying victims on his symbol, Kane electrocuting Shane McMahon’s testicles on live tv but, nothing is more creepy than Bray Wyatt in his Mr. Rogers-esque character ripping apart a Seth Rollins action figure while channeling his alter-personality The Fiend’s anger all with a smile on his face.

Bray Wyatt has singlehandedly taken this whole two-personality demonic Fiend character and turned it into solid gold. Over the past few months, a plethora of Legends and Hall of Famers have fallen victim to The Fiend while Wyatt reconstructed Raw into his sinister playhouse.

Ever since Wyatt addressed the rumors for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, his attacks have felt more organized with more deliberation. On last week’s episode of Raw, The Devil’s Favorite Demon Kane/Glenn Jacobs became The Fiend’s latest victim. The show ended with The Fiend hovering over an exhausted and terrified Universal Champion Seth Rollins in the corner.

This week The Fiend attacked the former “Black Sheep of The Wyatt Family” The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman during the main event. Strowman had Rollins in his arms seconds away from gaining another title shot at the Universal Championship, until The Fiend emerged from the darkness causing a disqualification.

We are only a week and a half from Wyatt challenging for the Universal Championship inside hell in a cell, and every passing week Rollins’ chances of retaining his title are diminishing. If The Fiend’s path of terrorism and destruction are any indication of the future could we be looking at the next Universal Champion?

For years Wyatt versus Strowman has been dubbed a dream feud because of their Wyatt Family ties perhaps that’s the direction WWE is heading right now with the Universal Championship on the line.
