NXT Minus 6: Who’s NXT?!?!?!

I’ll tell you who’s NXT. I’ll also tell you the main event for Takeover: War Games. 

6. As Fantasy Commissioner of NXT, I have made an executive decision: until further notice, the Full Sail Crowd is only allowed to chant “fight forever” for matches involving Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic. It’s overused, but these two deserve it. I could watch them all day every day. Lee is the most improbable big man ever. Kudos to Dijakovic for toning down his anger. He’s much more enjoyable now that he’s not trying to hyperextend his nostrils. 

5. Tegan Nox delivers a chokeslam??? The only time Tegan Nox and chokeslam belong in the same sentence is when Mauro Ranallo screams, “Rhea Ripley just chokeslammed Tegan Nox out of the ring and through a table!” Easily the worst chokeslam ever. I believe the technical term for it is “the drizzling shits.” I don’t care that she idolizes Kane. Don’t care.

4. Who else but the Full Sail crowd would serenade Matt Riddle with the Goldberg chant? Effing brilliant. One of my favorite moments of the year. Matt Riddle, You’re NXT!!!

3. Attention to the little touches elevates a moment from good to great. I love when they dim the arena lights and put a spotlight on the two contestants for the pre-match announcements. It gives it a big fight feel, like the only people in the world who exist are the two in the ring.   

2. Just when we thought there was nothing more in NXT for Johnny Gargano…BAM! Along comes Finn Balor. I did not see it coming but now I can’t stop thinking about it. This could have happened on the main roster, but be honest. Do you really want to see Gargano versus Balor anywhere but Takeover? I didn’t think so.   

1. It’s never too early for a Big Bold Prediction. For the first time in NXT history, 4 titles will be on the line in one match. War Games this year will feature Undisputed Era versus Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, Velveteen Dream and Tommaso Ciampa. No matter who pins who, if UE loses, Lee/Dijakovic get the tag titles, Dream gets the North American title and Goldy comes back home to Pappa Ciampa.
