After a brief absence, the Elites are back! So, what’s been going on?

Being the Elite #185 – The One with the Juggling

• Okay, someone’s repping Insane Clown Posse and just made a fucking fool of himself while Kazarian looks on and uses his resistance bands.
• We’re in Daily’s Place! Didn’t realize this was an open air place, no wonder everyone was wearing long sleeves last week. Oh, wait, they’re in the Jags’ place!
• Tony Khan! The Boss is here and we’re doing the New Year’s Eve count!  Happy New Year, again! Looks like everyone’s having a blast. Okay, everyone is obnoxiously drunk or happy.
• TH2 is challenging Josh Lambo, whoever the fuck that is,  while Kip Sabian and Orange Cassidy watch.
• I do not get Orange Cassidy. I’ve got dead relatives who can kick better.
• Oh, the perils of being a Luchasaurus. The fuck is going on here? Oh, it’s outtakes! I love outtakes! I always wondered how many times they did these interviews before they got them right.
• Is Leva trying to pick guys up by using books? Need to work on your game, Leva. Also, what did you do to your hair? Are you cosplaying as Anna from Frozen?
• I love Kenny and Riho. I firmly believe they’re a pair. Sabian and Sadie Gibbs causing trouble. I hope this match is going to be next week since Kenny and Riho are busy this week.
• Hangman Page is drunk…AGAIN. Seriously, we need an intervention, kudos to Private Party for trying to help.
• What’s this? Ooh, more of the Dark Order mystery. I think Page is the head honcho of Dark Order, but we’ll see.
• Schiavone and Dasha! I hate Dasha’s pants!

AEW Dark: Punching in the New Year in Daily’s Place

Billy Gunn and Austin Gunn vs Shawn Spears and Preston Vance

Well, this match was scheduled and advertised for Dark, but for whatever reason, it was NOT part of the AEW Dark program that I watched, which was SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than normal by about thirty minutes. Not sure what’s going on, but I’m a little disappointed that we didn’t get this match.

Note: A friend of mine posited the theory that, due to Billy Gunn using a name copyrighted by WWE, there might be some legal reasons for it not airing. Still disappointing.

Awesome Kong vs Skyer Moore

I’m guessing Skyer Moore is a prospect, not a local talent, since she got her own entrance. Still not sure about this whole Nightmare Collective, but I love seeing Brandi in her heelish glory. I don’t think this will be a long one. Do love that Moore is fighting back. She’s going to get flattened, but at least she’s allowed to fight back. Moore’s a scrapper, but her VERY funny roll up attempt got her squashed, literally.

SCU vs TH2 and Kip Sabian 

Well, it’s our main event. This is an interesting match since it’s the Tag Champs vs three low carders plus one of the Dynamite Diamonds (that’s what I’m calling the Women’s Division) since Penelope Ford is in the corner of Kip Sabian. Christopher Daniels taking lead on this is probably to help him bounce back from that botch and get back on the horse. Loved the pause Daniels did, selling his insecurity about doing the move he botched again.

This was a really good match. The Heels were heels to the hilt and the Champs really played up being imperiled before laying the heels out and taking home the win. Great match.
