Hyrule Puro-Resu has named the contenders!

As stated during Monday’s press conference, the #1 Contender’s Match for the HPW Triforce Championship had to be changed. Ganondorf Dragmire was still in, but Zelda is out. Below is the official statement from HPW.

Hyrule Puro-Resu has reached a decision! To determine an opponent for Ganondorf Dragmire in the HPW Triforce Championship #1 Contender’s match, it will be Ghirahim Mazokucho VS Igos du Ikana!

This is not an arbitrary decision, but one based on recent performance and overall record. Ghirahim’s first loss in HPW was to Link in the Bracket of Courage finals, putting him at a very impressive 12-1. Igos lost to Sheik-or rather, Zelda-in the Bracket of Wisdom’s semifinals, putting him at a still impressive 10-3. Ghirahim was runner-up in the 21 Man Death Mountain Championship #1 Contender’s Battle Royal, and Igos was in the final four. These two have yet to face each other one-on-one in their careers, so a dream match will go a long way to influencing the future.

Both men react to the news!

Both Igos du Ikana and Ghirahim Mazokucho took to Cucco and posted responses. Igos tweets, “Thank you, HPW, for this opportunity. The world will see my rise, while @Ghirahimsama will simply #FallIntoRuin.”

Ghirahim’s tweet reads, “TOZEN ψ(｀∇´)ψ” and is accompanied by a video. In the video, Ghirahim says, “I, the great Lord Ghirahim, was named for the contender’s qualifier? Well it was only natural! I am UNDEFEATEEED~!” Well no, not anymore. He underestimated “that nobody” Link but won’t do that again. And Ghirahim hasn’t forgotten “that bird brain,” Groose, either! But Ghirahim calms down as he apologizes to Ganondorf Dragmire ahead of time. They trained together and are friends, but this is the HPW world title we’re talking about. Ghirahim vows his vengeance will be swift and thorough.

An incredible match up to be sure! The Living Blade and the Ruler of Ruin have their first-ever singles encounter at the Death Mountain event next Saturday, June 2nd!
