Rebel welcomes us all back and introduces The Role Model, Dr. Britt Baker! Britt thanks Reba and thanks the fans, but let’s talk Kenny Omega! The latest and greatest fashion icon made gouging someone’s eye out with a boot sexy! If he ever wants to be on the Waiting Room, he’s a shoe-in. Rebel’s cohost laugh returns. But Britt brings up the Beach Break Tag Team Battle Royal, where the winners will go to AEW Revolution to fight for those AEW World Tag Team Championships! However, The Young Bucks are in that match, too, and we know they’d love to win and wrestle themselves. Those boys just love putting themselves over, right? And congrats on getting their book over with The Waiting Room.

And also, the Superbad Wedding is finally happening! Britt lets us in on how gorgeous the bridal shower was. If there is one ugly photo, they can all confidently say the butler did it. Get it? Because of Chuck Taylor. Personally, Britt likes the budding friendship between Miro and “Charles.” Sometimes you have to change up your best friends for the better. Speaking of, a personal favorite of hers, and a member of Team Taz, is their guest today! It’s Absolute Ricky Starks! Starks walks in, strikes a pose, and Britt snipes the hug from Rebel. Starks thanks everyone and says wow, Britt looks good. No, he looks good. No she looks go. They both look good.

Austin joins commentary as the teams sort out. After rock paper scissors, Colten starts against Ray Jaz. They circle, Austin compliments his handsome brother, and Colten keeps his distance from RJ’s mat style approach. They tie up, RJ reels Colten in and body scissors! RJ drags Colten around and goes for a chinlock but Colten fights that off. Colten has a toehold but RJ rolls him around. Colten cranks on the leg, RJ rolls him the other way, but Colten cranks on the leg more. RJ uses the free leg to pry Colten off and then gets an armlock. Colten headscissors back, RJ pops free but turns into an arm-drag!

Colten keeps on the arm, RJ moves around and gets to his feet to put Colten in a corner. The ref counts, RJ lets off at 4, but then RAMS into Colten! Fans boo, RJ whips corner to corner but Colten goes up and over! Colten dodges RJ to dropkick him away! RJ tags in the Southern Savior, but Colten dropkicks him, too! Skyler goes to a corner, Colten headlocks him but Skyler powers out. Billy tags in, takes the hand-off and wrenches Skyler to whip him to a corner. Skyler boots but Billy blocks and turns him around to CLUB him on the back! Billy runs side to side to SLIDING GERMAN! Fans fire up and Billy says it was a small window. Skyler bails out and wants a time out.

Billy bails out and scoops Skyler, but Skyler slips out! Billy avoids being posted and he elbows Skyler back! Skyler kicks back and POSTS Billy! Skyler and Colten talk trash. Skyler puts Billy in then throws forearms! Skyler fires off over and over, tags in RJ, and RJ gets in to facelock. RJ gator rolls Billy, fans rally up but RJ gator rolls over and over. Cover, ONE!! RJ tags to Skyler, Skyler headlocks and grinds Billy, but fans rally up. Billy throws body shots, gets free, but Skyler elbows him down. RJ tags in, he stomps away on Billy then digs his boots in! The ref counts, RJ lets off at 4, and Billy flounders. Billy BOOTS back, DECKS Skyler then spins around to DDT RJ! The bell rings and the two circle. They tie up, go around, and Velvet wrenches to a wristlock. Gracia rolls, wrenches, but Velvet rolls and handsprings to wrench back. Velvet waistlocks, Gracia pries free and rolls Velvet to a facelock. They get up, Gracia wrenches to a wristlock again, but spins around, only for Gracia to arm-drag her. Gracia has the arm, but Velvet slips around to full nelson! Gracia fights it, breaks it, and whips Velvet. Velvet rolls, drops down but Gracia gets around to waistlock. Velvet switches, Gracia arm-drags then drops down on the arm! Velvet fights up, rolls and wrenches back to reel Gracia in for a headlock. Gracia slips out but Velvet arm-drags.

Velvet turns forearm into a wrench and knuckle lock. Velvet goes up, twisting arm-drag! Things speed up and Velvet calf kicks Gracia to a corner! Velvet whips, Gracia reverses and runs in but Velvet dodges! Velvet trips Gracia, digs her boots in and waves to the camera. The ref counts, Velvet lets off and then brings Gracia up. Gracia knees low, bumps Velvet off buckles then throws haymakers. Gracia whips Velvet but she goes to the apron. Gracia runs into an ax kick! Velvet slingshot sunset flips but Gracia rolls through to hit a basement dropkick! Gracia poses, runs at Velvet and tiger feints her into a draping crucifix!

Gracia lets off at the ref’s count, mocks the stirrin’ it up, then hits a senton atomico! Cover, TWO! Gracia waistlocks for a rear bearhug, then rolls to make it a cover. ONE, Velvet fights to get free, and STUNNERS! Gracia staggers, Velvet runs but Gracia bypasses her. Velvet bypasses Gracia to rally with clotheslines! JSP runs to EuroUpper and then basement dropkick! Cover, TWO! Vance goes to a corner, JSP throws forearms, but Vance turns things around and CHOPS JSP! JSP turns it around to CHOP and kick and stomp away! The ref counts, JSP stops at 4, then goes corner to corner, but Vance hits him low! Vance throws body shots, JSP CLUBS him to a corner, and throws a EuroUpper! JSP throws body shots and clubbing forearms, Vance throws body shots back then ROCKS JSP! For Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, it’s been so far so good on their tag titles or bust journey! But will Luther and Serpentico change that this close to Beach Break?

The teams sort out and the Heavy Metal Rebel starts with SNAKEMAN. Serpentico rushes in but Kaz avoids him. They circle, tie up, and Kaz hits a fireman’s carry takedown to a keylock. Serpentico rolls back to reverse to a hammerlock. Kaz gets up, slips around to wrench back to a keylock then a trip. Serpentico moves around, Kaz shifts to an ARMBAR! Serpentico gets the ropebreak, with some help from Luther. Kaz lets go, Serpentico returns and kicks low. Serpentico throws hands, forearms, then whips corner to corner. Kaz goes up and over, CHOPS Serpentico, then brings him up to wrench and ram shoulders.

Kaz wrenches again, snapmares and drops a leg on the arm! Kaz short arm scissors, Luther protests, but Kaz drops knees on Serpentico’s arm. Kaz wrenches again, whips Serpentico but Serpentico reverses. Kaz stops himself to hit an armbar DDT! Cover, TWO! Kaz keeps on the arm, cranks it, tags in Daniels, and SCU coordinates for ax handles to the arm! Daniels wrenches but Serpentico ROCKS him! Tag to Luther and Luther fires off on Daniels! Luther whips corner to corner, Daniels dodges and dodges again, then escapes a scoop! Luther bucks the roll up away but Daniels dropkicks! Daniels snapmares Luther, tags Kaz in and then Daniels slingshot elbow drops!

Kaz slingshot leg drops! Cover, TWO! Luther throws hands, whips Kaz, but Kaz fights off Chaos Project. Luther distracts the ref, Serpentico trips Kaz and pulls Kaz into the post! Serpentico gets a cheap shot in, too, then Luther pulls Kaz by his ears! Luther lets off as the ref counts, then scoop slams Kaz! Tag to Serpentico, Luther scoops Serpentico to slam him on Kaz! The Fallen Angel dodges and rallies on the Death Dealer! Daniels kicks Serpentico and uses him against Luther as a battering ram! Daniels kicks then STO’s Luther! Daniels drags Serpentico up to drop a leg on Luther! Cover, TWO! Daniels keeps his cool and he brings Luther up. Serpentico runs in, Daniels ditches Luther to catch Serpentico for an EXPLODER! Luther LEG LARIATS Daniels! Daniels staggers up, dodges the boot to kick and underhook! ANGEL’S WINGS! Cover, but Serpentico breaks it! Serpentico gets Luther to the corner, tags in, and then runs at Daniels to sunset flip! Daniels rolls through but into a SUPERKICK and basement DDT! Cover, TWO!

Daniels still lives, and so does SCU! Serpentico drags Daniels up, Sliced Bread is denied! Daniels dodges, tags in Kaz! Kaz runs in but Serpentico dodges, only for Kaz to CHOP! Kaz whips, Serpentico reverses and runs in but Kaz dodges! Kaz LARIATS Serpentico inside out! Tag to Daniels, they coordinate but Luther runs in to clobber Daniels! Luther BOOTS Kaz, ROCKS Daniels, then whips Daniels corner to corner. Daniels BOOTS back, HIGH LOW for Luther! Serpentico ENZIGURIS Daniels, but he misses Kaz! The Addiction combine for CELEBRITY REHAB!! Cover, The Addiction wins!

SCU wins and they can continue on! While they’re not in the Beach Break Tag Team Battle Royal, will they still find their way to the tag titles before losing?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode, and somehow keeping it under two hours with the 13 matches and even a talk show. Speaking of which, while I was unsure of the flirtatious back and forth with Starks and Britt, I like that Schiavone is stepping in between it. He’s at least being a protective father or older brother figure to Britt, and that could be an interesting development to the overall story of Britt’s “friendship” with Schiavone. Comoroto is doing great, and between this and his Dynamite debut against Moxley, I think there are big plans in the works for the big guy. Fenix continues to get these Dark carders to bring out some amazing action, and KC Navarro looked the best he has since first showing up in AEW. But of course Fenix wins, and he is going to be a highlight of the Six Man Tag for Beach Break.

Santana and Ortiz have a strong showing again, and I hope they have a very strong showing in the Beach Break Tag Battle Royal. They should be no less than a finalist team, throwing it in MJF’s face to a degree that PNP should’ve been the team the Inner Circle put all their stock in this whole time. It could even come down to The Inner Circle having all three teams in there and then push comes to shove on whose allegiances are where. The Acclaimed had a really good music video promo to call out all the other teams in that match, and followed it right up with another really good rap promo and match. The Acclaimed should be floating around for a long time in that match just to prove their own point, but I’m thinking final four at most.

Velvet wins to keep momentum towards her story with Cody, Jade and Shaq, and I would hope to see her have a match on Dynamite so the normal viewer understands she has skills, too. Negative One was pretty funny on commentary again, though being a kid, he kinda did that thing you do as a kid where you push a joke a couple extra times too far to where it’s a bit much. But Vance wins to stay strong for the Dark Order, and Tay wins though only a friend of the Dark Order. Maybe Tay is in the Women’s Eliminator Tournament and there is a moment during that where Tay finally decides to #JoinDarkOrder. There could even be a point of tension where Anna Jay feels jaded because Tay joins, wins the tournament, and is the alpha female of the faction in one fell swoop.
