WWE Raw Drew McIntyre Bobby Lashley

Another action packed edition of WWE Raw on the Road to WrestleMania. In such a packed show, what stood out to Bodeen?

With Fastlane just around the corner, RAW delivered an average show that was carried by two great title matches as well as the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. So without further ado let’s get to the point and look at the top 5 moments from Monday Night RAW this week.

5. Mustafa Ali and Riddle fight for the United States Championship

Ever since Mustafa Ali joined Retribution, it is easy to forget how amazing Mustafa is in the ring due to the poor booking of Retribution. Luckily Mustafa would give fans a treat this week on RAW as he had a great match with the United States Champion Riddle. Mustafa would push Riddle to his limit with Riddle eventually getting the victory over Mustafa.

Riddle and Mustafa would start their match off evenly, with Riddle getting the advantage over Riddle after hitting a brutal neckbreaker off the ring apron. Mustafa would continue to push Riddle to his limit and even looked to had the match in hand, only for T-Bar to distract the referee during a pin attempt, allowing Riddle to hit the Bro-Derek for the win.

Over the last few weeks, we have seen Mustafa grow angrier at Retribution each week, berating them for their failures as a group. With this week being no different, could this mean we are seeing the beginning of the end for Retribution?

4. The New Day become Tag Team Champions once again

Without a doubt, The New Day have shown to be one of the most reliable tag teams in WWE history. Whether they are on RAW, SmackDown or on Pay-Per-View, The New Day always gives fans their best and are a complete joy to watch in the ring. This week would be no different as The New Day beat The Hurt Business in a great match to become 11-time tag team champions.

The Hurt Business and The New Day would put on a great match with the match showcasing the ability of all 4 men involved. The New Day would beat The Hurt Business after hitting Daybreak on Shelton Benjamin for the win. A special shoutout also has to be given to New Day’s special Mortal Kombat inspired attire which looked absolutely amazing.

After the match, AJ Styles and Omos would come and confront The New Day, with AJ Styles stating that he and Omos wanted a shot at the Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania with the match being made official later in the night. While a bit of build would have been better for this match, Omos making his debut at WrestleMania sounds very interesting.

3. Asuka unleashes her dark side on Shayna Baszler

After Shayna Baszler injured Asuka a few weeks ago on RAW, it seemed highly unlucky we would see The Empress Of Tomorrow on RAW anytime soon. However, despite the rumors, Asuka would return on RAW this week during a match between a tag team match between Naomi, Lana, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke to attack Shayna Baszler who was on commentary.

Asuka would get another chance to get revenge on Baszler later in the night as both women faced each other in a match. The match was short and hard-hitting with Asuka leaving her cheerful at home as she attacked Baszler without mercy, getting the win over Baszler after reversing the Kirifuda Clutch into a pinfall for the victory over Baszler.

Both women would continue to attack each other after the match, with Asuka getting the upper hand as she pulled Baszler’s mouthguard out and put her mouth against the turnbuckle before a referee had to separate Asuka from Baszler.

2. Drew Mcintyre gets ready for WrestleMania.

Drew Mcintyre would once again show why he is the centerpiece of RAW this week has he appeared multiple times on the RAW, with each appearance being great. Drew would start the night, by confronting Bobby Lashley, calling out how both men had smilier careers due to them winning the WWE Championship after wrestling for more than 10 years. Drew would then be distracted by The Miz, allowing Bobby to attack Drew, giving Miz a huge advantage for his match against Mcintyre.

Despite the early advantage due to Lashley attacking Drew, Drew would dominate The Miz throughout the match. After brutalizing The Miz, Drew would hit The Miz with the Claymore. However, Drew was not done there as he picked up The Miz and pointed at the WrestleMania sign, then applied The Hurt Lock on the Miz, with Miz quickly tapping out in what was a clear message to Bobby Lashley.

Drew would not be done there, as he cut a great promo for his match at Fastlane against Sheamus, with Drew watching the main event match between Bobby Lashley and Sheamus. After Lashley beat Sheamus, Drew would get revenge on Lashley by hitting Lashley with a Claymore kick. Drew would then stare down Sheamus to close the show.

1. Bobby Lashley and Sheamus brawl it out

Over the last few weeks, fans have seen Sheamus have some intense battles with Drew Mcintyre with both of their matches being the highlight of RAW. Sheamus would once again have the best match of the night on RAW this week as he battled the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, as Drew Mcintyre watched on, scouting his Fastlane opponent as well as his WrestleMania opponent.

Both men would trade brutal punches and shots, as both men looked to make an impact in front of Drew Mcintyre. Bobby Lashley looked amazing in this match as he kicked out at one for most of Sheamus’s offense with Sheamus growing more frustrated as the match went on.

Bobby Lashley would eventually get the win over Sheamus after Sheamus attempted a Brouge Kick, only for Lashley to hit Sheamus with a brutal spear to get the pinfall win.

These were my top 5 moments from Monday Night Raw this week. What were your top 5 moments and what did you think of The New Day beating The Hurt Business to become tag team champions once again? Let us know in the comments below.

Chris King: The Wyatt Sicks’ Wasted Potential By WWE

Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.

Wyatt Sicks WWE

Chris King takes a look at the WWE and their wasted potential of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks faction.

It’s that time of the year again, folks; it’s unfortunate and downright awful that so many WWE superstars got released today. I’m not going to list all of them, but I am going to talk about one of my favorite factions,

The Wyatt Sicks. Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erik Rowan, and Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy) were something special. After Bo’s brother Bray Wyatt’s tragic passing, WWE felt like there was a hole that needed to be filled. Wyatt was one of the most creative and brilliant characters, and Bo would be taking over his brother’s concept and bringing it to life. In 2024, at the end of an incredible documentary highlighting Wyatt’s career and struggles, Bo appeared on the screen portrayed as Uncle Howdy. The last time Uncle Howdy was seen on-screen was at the 2023 Royal Rumble, where Wyatt defeated LA Knight in a Pitch Black Match. Howdy jumped off a structure onto Knight.

This post-credit scene sparked so much speculation and excitement that Wyatt’s brother would carry on his legacy and possibly debut the faction that was Wyatt’s concept. On the June 17th episode of Monday Night Raw, The Wyatt Sicks made their dramatic debut ,destroying the backstage area as well as “murdering” Chad Gable. It was such an iconic arrival for Howdy as he made his menacing walk from the back into the audience who were chanting “Holy Shit.” The Sicks and American Made (Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers) battled for months, with The Sicks being victorious. On the September 9th episode of Raw, The Sicks defeated them, with Howdy getting the win with Sister Abigail.

The following year, The Sicks would move over to Friday Night SmackDown, and it seemed like WWE had a plan in place. They would win the tag team championships from The Street Profits and start to look dominant. Now, what should have happened next is Howdy should have won the United States title. The Sicks could have held all the gold over on the blue brand, but it never happened. The Sicks entered into a never-ending feud with The MFT’s (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga.) It started off exciting, and the WWE Universe was red-hot for their interactions.

After months of repetitive matches and The MFT’s stealing their lantern, the feud grew tiresome and boring. Even Tama asked Solo why they are still holding onto the lantern, as it was destroying them as a whole. Finally on the SmackDown before Mania, Tama

gave the lantern back to Howdy against Solo’s wishes. Please explain to me why both factions fought almost every single week instead of just having one final blowoff match at WrestleMania.

It should have been either a massive street fight or a falls count anywhere match on the grandest stage of them all. Instead, it turned into a meaningless week-after-week extravaganza that benefited no one. The MFTs won the rivalry, and The Sicks don’t even work for WWE anymore. This was the same criminalized creative process that Wyatt dealt with during his first run in the company.

We’ll never know how much of a dangerous force The Wyatt Sicks could have been in the WWE. For all their careers’ sake, I hope they stay far away from the company for as long as possible. Every superstar that was cut deserves better!

Chris King: Bloodline Saga: Is This the Right Call For WWE?

Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns

WWE Jacob Fatu Roman Reigns Backlash

Chris King questions the WWE’s logic in setting up Jacob Fatu as the next challenger for World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is once again World Heavyweight Champion after his dominant win over CM Punk at WrestleMania 42. On the following night on Monday Night Raw, The OG Bloodline came back together as a well-oiled machine as The Usos stood side by side with Roman. With the WWE Universe asking who would be the first to challenge “The Tribal Chief,” Jacob Fatu shocked the world by answering the call.

Fatu is running hot after his impressive win over Drew McIntyre and feels like he is ready to become the new world champion. This bloodline segment ended Raw, and it picked right back up on SmackDown with even Solo Sikoa and the MFTs involved. This is now two shows that have been centered around The Bloodline saga, and it’s made me question whether or not WWE should be retelling this story.

The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa) ran WWE for over four years as Reigns’ henchmen, doing his dirty work to retain his title. Even though Roman has declared he doesn’t want Jey and Jimmy to serve him, it sure seems like WWE are spinning their wheels. Fatu could add a whole new chapter into the story, even if he’s not able to beat Roman at Backlash. “The Samoan Werewolf” could be forced to do the same thing as Jey did all those years ago and fall in line.

In my opinion, I feel like Fatu should be challenging for the Undisputed WWE Championship because that’s a title I feel like he should win. I understand standing up to your blood and trying to prove you’re the best, but I don’t think this is the right move. It feels like 2022 all over again, as The Bloodline is the central focus on both shows. If Fatu doesn’t win, what happens to all his momentum he’s been building over the last two years?

Why did WWE make this the best choice for storyline purposes? Why couldn’t creative have come up with a different challenger for Roman? There are so many other superstars that could challenge The Tribal Chief, such as Rusev, Bron Breakker, Gunther, or even a returning Sheamus.

I just can’t help but question WWE’s logic here, and it kind of reminds me of all the times The Shield reunited. Could WWE be pushing the same storyline too many times here? Could the WWE Universe get tired of this rinse and repeat cycle of The Bloodline Saga?

Are we about to see all the weekly episodes solely focused on The Bloodline again? Will it be cinema… Yes. Is there still money in The Bloodline… Yes. Was it the right call? That’s to be determined!
