NXT Minus 6: GTHWYLWW

Good things happen when you let wrestlers wrestle.

6. We last saw Mustache Mountain in January 2020, and they were giving us a MOTY contender versus DIY. They reform over a year later to give us a real banger versus Noam Dar and Sha Samuels. GTHWYLWW. Their trilogy versus Undisputed Era was epic. Is there a more underrated or unappreciated tag team anywhere?   

5. Cameron Grimes versus Kyle O’Reilly was a fantastic match. 4 stars. GTHWYLWW. However, NXT missed a major opportunity to go hat versus hat. They’d be foolish not to build towards that. What’s the point in O’Reilly cutting a promo in that hat if he’s not going to wear it to the ring? Did he already forget that he’s Cool Hat Guy?  

4. I am on a mission to make you recognize the greatness that is Noam Dar. Golden on the mic. Great in ring. He does so many little things so well. This gets thrown around a lot, but he is the next Shawn Michaels. Undersized and oozing with confidence & charisma, a cocky little punk that you can’t help but love. Watch NXT UK. Watch SPRNVA Sessions. Thank you. Bye bye.  

3. Our reward for having to endure Dexter Lumis versus La Knight was KUSHIDA versus Oney Lorcan. GTHWYLWW. I’d love to see the rematch. At the risk of a short run for KUSHIDA, I’d even love to see Lorcan win the cruiserweight belt. He’s been too good for too long. And he needs to win it as a face, because he deserves the moment he didn’t get when he won the tag titles.    

2. Free Ever-Rise!!! These guys are such goobers. It’s like watching two Santino Marellas in the ring, and Santino Marella rules! They deserve so much better than jobber squash. La Knight got a full 10 minutes PLUS promo. Ever-Rise doesn’t even get their music played. Kiss my butt, NXT. Kiss all of our butts. Ever-Rise Rules! Yes they do.

1. This Week’s That’s Why I Love Wrestling goes to…Mckenzie Mitchell! She should be made an honorary member of The Way. Her reaction to everything they do is priceless and makes it all so much better. A real pro can make everything shine brighter without stealing the spotlight. Mckenzie is a pro.
