Darby Allin w/ Sting VS Cezar Bononi w/ The Pretty Picture!

Daily’s Place is red hot as the Relentless One, accompanied by The Icon, steps up to the Beautiful Brazilian V8! But with bad ribs and an obvious height disadvantage, is Darby being even more reckless than usual this close to a Double or Nothing grudge match?

The bell rings, Darby and Bononi tie up, and Bononi puts Darby in a corner. The ref counts, Bononi grinds his forearms in but lets off, and Darby gets around to CHOP and CHOP! Bononi CLUBS Darby, whips him corner to corner, but Darby gets the arm! Bononi gets a ropebreak, shoves Darby away, and throws body shots! Darby hobbles around but fans rally behind him. Bononi whips, Darby reverses and wants the arm again! Darby drags Bononi down, Bononi gets the ropes again and shoves Darby to kick the ribs! Bononi knees hard and low, fans boo but Bononi gets Darby up to TOSS him into a corner!

Bononi fires off body shots on the ribs, the ref counts and Bononi lets off. Bononi scoops Darby and TOSSES him across the way! Darby writhes and Bononi soaks up the heat from the fans. Darby kicks back but Bononi stomps him down. Bononi scoops and TOSSES Darby again! Bononi looms over Darby, fans rally up but Bononi hoists Darby up to DROP him on the top buckle! Darby flops to the ramp, Sting checks on him but Bononi goes out to fetch Darby. Bononi drags Darby up again and scoops him, to TOSS him into the ring! Cover, TWO!! Darby survives but Bononi tries again, TWO! Again, TWO! Darby refuses to give in and fans rally up.

Bononi looms over Darby, the Pretty Picture tell fans to stop chanting, but Bononi stomps Darby on the back! Bononi gets Darby up, Darby throws elbows but Bononi CLUBS him! Bononi scoops Darby but Darby slips around to a SLEEPER! Darby is a backpack. Bononi fades, the ref counts as Darby smothers Bononi’s face! Darby stops, Bononi gets the ropebreak, but Darby KICKS the arm! Darby SLAPS away on Bononi, goes for the arm, but Bononi puts Darby in a corner. Bononi throws hands, runs corner to corner but Darby boots him! Darby hops up, for the THROWBACK STUNNER! And a SHOTGUN dropkick!

Bononi is down in a drop zone, and Darby goes up top! COFFIN DROP!! Cover, Darby wins!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall

The fans are fired up for the first big win on this big Friday Night Dynamite! Darby gets a mic as Sting joins him in the ring, and Darby says, “Ethan and Scorpio! I’m not gonna wait to get jumped from behind! Come out right now, and let’s do this tonight!” Ethan and Scorpio know he’d like that, and are all smiles as they appear on stage. But Darby expects them to just come down to the ring, in their “fancies,” and fight for free? Grow up, Darby. When they beat him and Sting on Sunday’s big stage, everyone will see the end of one legend, and the beginning of two more. “We out!” But the PRETTY PICTURE attacks Darby and Sting!

Ethan and Scorpio decide to add on! They stomp Darby, go after Sting’s legs, and use a BULLY CHOKE to grind Darby down! Scorpio has a leg, but here comes the DARK ORDER! They run off Ethan & Scorpio just like they did last time! All Ego and the Face of the Revolution will have no choice but to face Evil Uno & Stu Grayson later tonight, will they get a little bit of comeuppance before Double or Nothing?

Paul Wight heads to the ring!

The all-time great, the co-host and commentator on Dark: Elevation, and a true giant, is going to preside over this equally massive moment! It will be the official Double or Nothing weigh-in for Cody Rhodes and Anthony Ogogo!

AEW returns and Wight says he feels great being out in front of an amazing crowd! For whatever reason, AEW wanted him to officiate this weigh-in. But this will be a serious weigh-in, so let’s bring out Anthony Ogogo! The Gov’nuh, the Olympic Bronze Medalist and “the man with stone hands” is of course accompanied by The Factory. QT Marshall has a mic to address “Tebow Country” and telling them to have some respect for a real athlete in Ogogo! He also pretends the fans are booing Wight and not his group. Ogogo gets in the ring and Wight tells QT no one paid to hear him jaw. And Ogogo, don’t eye Wight like that or it might be your last night.

Wight now gives the introduction for a man he’s known a long time, who has heart and soul. The American DREAM, Cody Rhodes! Cody has trainees from The Nightmare Factory accompanying him, along with Red Velvet, Lee Johnson, the Rhodes family, and Coach Arn Anderson. Needless to say, QT’s posse is outnumbered here. Cody steps into the ring with Velvet, Dustin, Arn and sister, Kristen. Wight keeps the peace, knowing the bad blood brewing here. Save it all for Double or Nothing, guys. Time for the official weights. First, Cody! After taking off shoes and track suit, Cody stands on the scale in just his Calvin Klein boxer briefs.

Wight adjusts the scale, Ogogo grows impatient but Wight gets a measurement. Cody is weighed in at 218! Cody takes a step back, Ogogo strips down and there are fireworks going because it’s Memorial Day Weekend. Fans chant, “USA! USA!” Ogogo is down to his Union Jack boxer-briefs, steps up, and Wight figures out the scale. Ogogo flexes but Wight figures it out. Ogogo is officially at 219! A very even match-up on weight, and that is what will be on the Tale of the Tape for Double or Nothing! But QT wants people to understand what’s going on here. With all due respect to Wight, Ogogo is heavier and already has victory in his hands!

QT is upset that fans are chanting for Cody when he just said Ogogo wins! Ogogo has a cameraman move so he can get on the corner and flex. Fans boo but the Factory soaks up the heat. Cody gets up on a corner to do the same, and fans cheer! QT has Ogogo flex for another segment of the crowd, but they just boo. Dustin wants after QT but The Factory bails out. Ogogo’s clothes are gathered up, and Cody has fans give it up for the weigh-in’s host, Paul “Big G” Wight! See you all at Double or Nothing, enjoy the rest of the show! Will Cody and Ogogo look to steal the show this Sunday?

AEW takes a look at Stadium Stampede II, and what led to it.

Chris Jericho says, “Blood & Guts may seem like the end of The Inner Circle, but in reality, it’s only just the beginning.” Jim Ross says that this is the next chapter. Excalibur notes that last year was the first Stadium Stampede, which the Inner Circle was part of. MJF says the reason he chose this match was because the Inner Circle lost it last year, and that means they’ll lose it again. Tony Schiavone says the battleground is so vast from Daily’s Place to TIAA Stadium, Tully notes there are utensils tools all over the place, there’s no way to really prepare for this. But Jericho says they know what to expect this time, and what to do.

Sammy Guevara says, “What to expect? Expect the unexpected.” JR says The Pinnacle has momentum, but Wight says it is still a toss-up. Experience is name of the game, Ortiz says they won’t lose twice. FTR says this is it, the Inner Circle will lose and disband, there’s no more Inner Circle. MJF says this is going to put the biggest smile on his face. Shawn Spears says some men were born to be buried. Will that be Jericho, Sammy, Santana, Ortiz and Jake Hager?

AEW finds Will Hobbs attacking Christian Cage backstage!

Things with Team Taz and Captain Charisma are only escalating as Christian has to elbow Hobbs away from him! Hobbs throws body shots, bounces Christian off cases, then drags him back up. Christian sends Hobbs into the steel fencing, but Hobbs hits back! Christian dodges and Hobbs hits steel with bare fist! Christian has a table stand and SMASHES it on Hobbs’ ribs! Christian goes for the headshot but referees and security stop him! Hobbs and Christian get loose, and Christian SPEARS Hobbs into crates! Other wrestlers rush in now to stop this brawl, but this is only going to get worse in the Casino Battle Royal!

Hangman Page VS Joey Janela w/ Sonny Kiss!

Speaking of Team Taz, Taz himself is watching this closely as the Anxious Millennial Cowboy is going to be facing The Machine, Brian Cage, at Double or Nothing! And it seems, despite being ditched during Dark, Sonny is still riding with the Bad Boy! Will Janela finally redeem himself for the loss in the brutal match he and Hangman had back at All In? Or will Hangman shoot Janela down before tangling with the FTW Champion?

The bell rings, fans are fired up already, and Hangman ties right up with Janela. They go around, break, and reset. They tie up again, Hangman headlocks, grinds Janela down, but Janela fights up to power out. Hangman runs Janela over, things speed up and Janela hurdles only for Hangman to hit a headlock takeover. Janela fights up and they end up on ropes. The ref counts, Hangman lets off fast, and fans rally up. Hangman and Janela tie up, go around, and Hangman puts Janela in a corner but Janela turns things around. Janela goes to punch but offers a handshake, only to CHOP Hangman when he hesitates! Hangman frowns, puts Janela in the corner and CHOPS back!

Hangman follows Janela to another corner, CHOPS again, but then Janela dodges to CHOP back! And CHOP, and then Fargo strut, only to turn around into a CHOP! Hangman runs corner to corner to clothesline and snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Fans fire up as Hangman drags Janela up. Janela throws forearms, whips but Hangman reverses. Janela ducks and dodges but is thrown out hard! Hangman aims, slingshots, but Janela avoids the plancha! Janela is on the apron and he SUPERKICKS Hangman, to then run and leap! Hangman catches the crossbody to FALL AWAY SLAM Janela to the floor! Fans fire up as Hangman drags Janela back up and into the ring. Hangman covers, TWO!

Hangman clamps onto Janela with a chinlock, Janela fights up and jawbreakers free! Janela ROCKS Hangman, Hangman ROCKS Janela back! Hangman runs at Janela in a corner but Janela YANKS him into buckles! Fans rally and duel as AEW goes picture in picture.

Janela soaks up the heat from the fans, stomps a mudhole into Hangman, then walks it off to soak up more heat. Hangman gets up and CHOPS back! Janela CHOPS, Hangman ROCKS him! Janela ROCKS Hangman, snapmares and fist drops! Cover, TWO! Janela chokes Hangman against ropes, lets off at the ref’s count, and bumps Hangman off buckles. Janela throws big haymakers but Hangman hits back! They brawl, Janela wrenches and whips Hangman corner to corner hard! Hangman bounces off buckles and Janela lounges on the mat. Janela drags Hangman up, whips him to ropes, and CLOBBERS him! Cover, TWO!

Hangman gets to ropes, Janela stalks over and brings him up for more haymakers. Janela bends Hangman back against ropes, the ref counts and Janela lets off. Janela snapmares Hangman again, clamps on a chinlock and then a neck wrench, but Hangman endures. Hangman fights up, throws body shots, then runs, but into Janela’s clothesline! Janela runs but Hangman clotheslines him out of the ring! AEW returns to single picture as Hangman is down, catching his breath. Hangman goes out, Janela climbs up to the apron, and Hangman Alabama lifts! Janela CLUBS Hangman, throws hands, then eggs Hangman on. Hangman forearms, Janela returns it, and then fireman’s carries!

Hangman slips off, gets in the ring and TRIANGLE LARIATS Janela down! Fans fire up as Hangman aims and PLANCHAS! Direct hit and down goes the Bad Boy! Hangman puts Janela in, fans are fired up for “COWBOY SHIT!” but Janela stops the Buckshot. Hangman and Janela throw more forearms, Janela runs but Hangman hits a SPINEBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Janela escapes and Kiss rallies for him, as do the fans. Hangman and Janela go to opposite corners, Hangman runs corner to corner but Janela BOOTS him! Janela runs, but into the Alabama! Janela sunset flips through, TWO! Janela ROCKS Hangman, runs but into a BOOT!

Fans fire up as Hangman grits his teeth. Hangman drags Janela up, whips him to a corner but Janela reverses. Janela gets around the lariat to CORNER GERMAN SUPLEX! Hangman bounces off buckles, Janela goes up top, MACHO ELBOW!! Cover, TWO!! Hangman survives and Janela is beside himself. Janela fireman’s carries but Hangman slips out and shoves to ROLLING ELBOW! Janela wobbles, swings but into Hangman’s second ROLLING ELBOW! POP-UP POWERBOMB! Hangman loads up on the apron and the fans fire up! Hangman has a bloody forehead but he doesn’t care, BUCKSHOT!! Cover, Hangman wins!!

Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

Hangman gave blood and sweat but no tears in this match, and that might be what it’ll take to take down The Machine! Taz gets on a mic to talk to Hangman, and introduces him to a good friend, the one who will whoop his ass on Sunday! Brian Cage is here in person! Hangman gets a mic to tell Taz to shut up. He knows what’s going on here, so he welcomes Brian to come in. Taz has been doing this over and over! He talks to distract, here comes Ricky Starks and Hook, as expected! Taz says for his guys to go after them, but Hangman says while he expects this from Taz, he expected more from Cage.

Is Cage the kind of guy who needs someone’s help to whoop Hangman’s ass? Doesn’t Cage have balls? Or did they shrink all the way up? Cage should be mad, but he should leave the a-holes out of it to face Hangman like a man! Cage tells Hook to back down and says he won’t need anyone’s help on Sunday! Hangman wants Cage 1v1? Then he’s got it! Because who betta than Cage? Nobody, and definitely not Page! Will the Cowboy be the one to stop the Path of Cage?

AEW hears from Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley.

How much did the Young Bucks spend on these Nike Diors? Eddie doesn’t know and he doesn’t care. Moxley doesn’t like ’em, anyway, they’re kinda ugly. But he and Kingston have been having fun with “Rod ‘n’ Todd Flanders” lately. Time to get serious- And then TNT goes to break. Will we hear the rest of what Moxley was about to say when AEW comes back?

TNT returns and yes, we do hear the rest of Moxley’s statement. It’s time to get serious! The Bucks are currently known as the best tag team in the world, while Mox & Kingston aren’t even “a real team.” Just a couple of shmucks put together. At least, that’s how the Bucks feel. What makes a great team? What makes a family? Moxley trusts Kingston with his life! When Moxley was living out of a motel in Philly, Kingston barged in and said they had to take care of a couple of dudes in Manayunk, Moxley simply asked, “Who’s driving?” He has Kingston’s back in war, and Double or Nothing will be a war for the tag team titles!

Moxley loves titles, championships, all that. But he loves that those are the most important tag team championships in the world! Moxley wants those belts. He NEEDS those belts! The Bucks may be a better tag team, a more “well-oiled machine,” but those belts are raw T-bone steaks and these two are pitbulls! So what are the Bucks going to do when these two clamp down on their legs? Moxley wants those belts! Kingston says the Bucks will quit, because they quit on the people, and they quit on the boys in the back. By the way, “boys in the back,” all sitting there, collecting your paychecks, not doing nothing as the Elite go all carny, Kingston and Moxley aren’t happy!

Moxley and Kingston speak for the underdogs! They’re the ones who are going to win the belts! And then everyone will sit there and quit and no longer be part of AEW. Maybe Moxley and Kingston will replace the Bucks as EVP’s! Moxley isn’t so sure about that. Well, either way, they will see the Bucks on Sunday. The pressure’s coming! Will the Bucks crack under it and give up the gold?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring!

Schiavone explains that Kenny Omega and Don Callis expect Orange Cassidy to withdraw from Double or Nothing’s Triple Threat for the AEW World Championship, given the state he was in after the main event match from a couple weeks ago. Tonight, we will hear his response! But it would seem the third man in that equation wants to hear this personally! The Bastard, PAC, heads to the ring! Pac takes Schiavone’s mic and tells him to leave. Pac then says, “Ladies and gentlemen, please accept my sincerest apology. Clearly, you were expecting somebody else!” But Pac is here to tell us that this Sunday, Orange Cassidy is irrelevant!

In fact, the only one that matters at Double or Nothing will be the man who beats Kenny Omega and becomes the NEW AEW World Champion, PAC!! “So Kenny, Kenny, Kenny, is this really your prestigious title reign that you’re proud of? You’re ducking and you’re dodging and you’re manipulating. To be frank, Kenny, it’s pathetic!” So Omega should make amends and stand face-to-face with Pac, so the whole world can see what will happen at Double or Nothing! Where are you, Kenny?!

Callis is on the titantron and asks if Pac really thought he’d let himself get anywhere near Pac for their confrontation? You think he’d be in the same ring, let alone the same building, as him? He’s not, because Pac is too dangerous! Pac a “violent, aggressive, soulless sociopath” so Callis is not going out there. But Omega is! He runs in from behind but Pac is ready and he mule kicks Omega down! Then front kicks, back kicks and runs to BOOT Omega down! The Good Brothers rush out and mug Pac! Fans boo as they stomp and hammer Pac down, but here come the Lucha Brothers! Death Triangle runs the Good Brothers off, but Omega and Pac are still in the ring!

Omega staggers up, and STOMPS Pac down in a corner! Omega gets Pac up, Electric Chair lifts, but here comes Orange Cassidy! He and his Best Friends, Chuck Taylor, Trent, and Kris Statlander, are here, and Cassidy goes to the ring. Cassidy looks in better shape than he did a couple weeks ago, so what’s his answer to Omega and Callis? Cassidy reaches into his jacket pocket, has an envelope with “For Kenny” on it, and hands it over. Omega opens up the envelope, and finds shredded pieces of the withdrawal contract in it! Cassidy’s answer is clear, but just in case Omega doesn’t get it, here’s an ORANGE PUNCH!

Cassidy then eyes the title, goes to pick it up, but Pac stands on the belt. Cassidy looks up at Pac, and Pac kicks him low! Pac reels Cassidy in, but Cassidy slips out of the bomb to ORANGE PUNCH Pac down!! Cassidy puts his sunglasses back on, fans chant for “Freshly Squeezed!” and Cassidy picks up the belt. Will this be what we see at the end of Double or Nothing’s huge Triple Threat? Or are the odds not in the favor of the King of Sloth Style?

Schiavone interviews Jade Cargill backstage.

We know she issued an open challenge for tonight, and KiLynn King answered it already. Will that be a difficult match for Jade? King is strong and tough in her own right. Jade scoffs at that idea, but here comes Matt Hardy. Hardy says Double or Nothing will be the biggest day in the history of the Hardy Family Office, because Hardy himself will win the Casino Battle Royal and procure a future AEW World Championship match. Big things are happening for the HFO and she should be part of it. Is she going to side with a winning team?

But Mark Sterling walks in to have Hardy hold on a moment. Jade’s already selected Sterling and is his client now. Plus, Hardy should be way too busy right now, what with that big match and all his other clients. Sterling hates to do this because he’s a fan of Hardy’s, but if Hardy keeps accosting Jade like this, Sterling will have no choice but to slap him with a 50 yard restraining order. And that’d be very problematic once AEW goes on the road again, because Hardy won’t even be able to get in the building. Now, Jade has to get ready for the big match Sterling got for her tonight.

See, the difference between Sterling and Hardy is that Hardy takes 30% off the board. Sterling only gets paid if Jade wins. Which is fine because she always wins. Everything else is pro bono, but no hard feelings, Hardy. Sterling offers Hardy his legal services. Hardy angrily hopes Jade is happy with her decision, then storms off.

Jade Cargill w/ Mark Sterling VS KiLynn King!

The storm is coming, and she is still undefeated in AEW. And now with someone by her side to smooth things out for her, is it only a matter of time before Jade storms up to the AEW Women’s World Championship? Or will the King block her path?

The bell rings, Jade “applauds” King, then flexes on her. King flexes, and the two go for a test of strength. They’re evenly matched in side and strength as they go shoulder to shoulder, but Jade bends King back! King bridges, powers back up as fans rally, but Jade breaks the grip to kick King low! Jade drags King up and reels her in for a short-arm clothesline! King gets up, Jade kicks her against ropes then whips her to ropes. King ducks and dodges and leaps but Jade catches her for a set of bicep curls, before the SLAM! Jade swaggers and talks trash as AEW goes picture in picture.

King slowly gets up, catches her breath while Jade keeps talking, and then mule kicks her into a corner! King goes corner to corner to SHOTGUN Jade! Jade puts up boots, King blocks them and swings Jade into ropes, but Jade goes to the apron to shoulder into King! Jade slingshots up and over and keeps moving, to hit a SPINEBUSTER! Jade looms over King, talks more trash, then stomps King down. King keeps sitting up but Jade keeps stomping her down. Jade rains down forearms and fists, drags King up and bumps her off buckles. Jade stomps a mudhole into King, digs her boot in, but lets off as the ref counts 4. Jade seethes as she stalks King, then talks more trash on her.

King gets up, Jade ROCKS her in the corner! Jade whips King corner to corner hard, and King bounces off buckles! Jade stomps King down more, KICKS her in the back, then clamps on a neck wrench. King endures as Jade shifts to a chinlock, fights up but Jade CLUBS her down. AEW returns to single picture as Jade snap suplexes then kips up. Jade drags King up, King throws body shots and forearms! King whips, Jade reverses and sends King out hard! King flounders on the outside as Jade talks trash. Sterling mockingly offers his card to King, King swipes at him! Sterling is upset, King gets on the apron and Jade DECKS her! Sterling takes back his card, too.

Jade drags King up to bump off aprons, shoves her into the ring, but King swings on her, only for Jade to get around and chicken wing the arms! Jade walks around before hitting JADED! Cover, Jade wins!

Winner: Jade Cargill, by pinfall

Another win under her belt, Jade says she’s #ThatBitch! But will she soon have her shot at the belt after Double or Nothing?

AEW hears from Jake the Snake and Lance Archer.

Jake says that yes, if Dante Martin wins tonight, he’ll be the youngest champion ever in AEW. If he wins. If a frog had wings, he’d stop busting his ass on the ground. Archer says that he doesn’t care about Dante. All due respect, hopefully Dante has a great match tonight, but Archer wants to face Miro at Double or Nothing. The ticket has been punched, and Archer wants to punch Miro right in the face! Miro’s done nothing but piss Archer off since he got that title. After Sunday, The Murderhawk Monster will be the NEW TNT Champion! Will Archer get his wish and be facing The Best Man for the title?

AEW TNT Championship: Miro VS Dante Martin!

Speaking of, The Best Man gets his first defense out of the way on Dynamite against Angel Dorado! But will the Bulgarian Barbarian make Dante into a real angel just to send a message to the Murderhawk? Or can all the momentum Dante’s been building on Dark and Dark: Elevation help him pull off the biggest upset in his career?

The introductions are made, the title is raised, and we see who heads for Double or Nothing to face Archer!

Miro and Dante circle, fans sing, “Miro’s gonna kill~ you!” and Miro enjoys it. They tie up, Miro KNEES hard and low then fires off in a corner! The ref counts, Miro lets off at 4, and fans fire up as Miro gets Dante back up, for an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Miro storms around, KICKS Dante while he’s down, and then scowls as he stands over Dante. Fans want that “One More Time!” but Miro fakes everyone out. Miro grins and fans do admit that was good. Miro drags Dante up but Dante jawbreakers! Miro wobbles but he still reels Dante in for a judo throw! Miro runs but Dante dodges the falling headbutt!

Dante gets to a corner, slips out to the apron as Miro runs in and Miro gets buckles! Dante shoulders, GAMANGIRIS, then springboards up and up and MOONSAULTS! Cover, ONE!! Miro gets out fast and then whips Dante at a corner. Dante goes up and over and returns with a springboard missile dropkick! Fans fire up as Dante covers, ONE!! Miro snarls as Dante hurries to another corner. Dante climbs but Miro gets him to ROCK him with a right! Miro stands Dante back up, drags him up and dead lift suplexes high and hard! Dante staggers up into the BEST KICK! Miro smiles and fans fire up, because it’s “GAME OVER!!” Miro stomps, puts on the DEEP came clutch, and Dante taps! Miro wins!

Winner: Miro, by submission (still AEW TNT Champion)

Miro makes Dante suffer for thinking he stood a chance, but here comes Jake and Archer! Jake says he has Archer focused and ready for Sunday’s opportunity! Sunday, Miro’s fairy tale ends. Miro huffs and puffs and blows the house down, but Archer doesn’t play fairy tales. No, no. Jake thinks he should speak Miro’s language, and tries Bulgarian. Jake gives us the translation for free: “Why don’t you just shut the F up?” Jake and Archer have had enough! Miro comes in, bullies someone, and thinks he’s special. Archer is ready to go.

Miro gets a mic so he can tell the old fart to shut up! He’s always holding his boy back, but let’s see if we see Archer let loose! C’mon, Lance! You always afraid? Jake says SIC ‘EM! Archer gets in, choke grips, and Miro pops free of the choke grip! Refs rush in but Archer punches and BOOTS Miro down! Fans fire up and Miro wants more, but Archer DECKS him! Jake laughs and wants the party to start! But this has to wait for Double or Nothing! Will Archer finally get the TNT title one year after coming up short?

AEW returns and Schiavone is back in the ring!

Referee Bryce Remsburg has an AEW Women’s World Championship in hand as Schiavone notes that it was May 23, 2020, right as the pandemic got going, there was a new champion crowned. She is the longest reigning champion in AEW ever, so tonight we will honor and celebrate that 377 day reign! Welcome to the ring, Hikaru Shida! Fans cheer for the Full Metal Warrior as she makes her entrance, holding her own copy of the AEW Women’s World Championship. Schiavone continues by saying that in honor of this reign, we are presenting for the first time ever, a brand new belt! Bigger, shinier, and something Shida is definitely worthy of!

Remsburg hands the belt to Schiavone, and he puts it around Shida’s waist! Fans chant, “You Deserve It!” and Schiavone congratulates her. She’s earned all of this, this is a big moment, even with the title match this Sunday. Shida takes the mic to say, “When I won this title, there were no fans in here. But tonight, you are here!” Fans cheer because they’re happy to be here for this moment. Shida continues to say, “I’m so proud to share this moment with you, because this title is for you! And you! And you!” But here comes Britt Baker to ruin the fun. She knew she wouldn’t be invited, but she comes in peace, and to congratulate Shida.

Britt hopes Shida understands that she was a champion during the most difficult time in all of pro-wrestling history. And no one can ever take that away from her. This was Shida’s year. But Britt has something she needs to address. Britt has to admit that she misspoke when she talked with JR last week. Britt said something she needs to take back. She said she’s the face of the Women’s Division. But when she wins that brand new belt at Double or Nothing, Britt will be the face of a new ERA. And much like an era before her was about 3:16, this era will be all about DMD. Mic drop and Britt takes her leave. Will Britt prove this is her time? Or will Shida look to go for a second anniversary?

Sammy Guevara has his cue cards!

AEW is picture in picture as he delivers a final message. “This Sunday, 48 hours, Spears! With every card you read, your time draws near. My warning you should heed. Your time draws near. At Stadium Stampeded, your time draws near. The Inner Circle will succeed! Your time draws near. No amount of chairs will save you! The Spanish God will… Hit You Up!” A very poetic ultimatum, but will the Pinnacle’s Chair Man fear what’s coming?

Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky VS Evil Uno & Stu Grayson w/ The Dark Order!

This showdown was already set from last time, with how the Dark Order ran off All Ego & The Face of the Revolution from an attack on Darby Allin and Sting. After doing so again this week, will things only be more heated? Or will Ethan & Scorpio use Players One & Two as mere warm-ups before their boss battle at Double or Nothing?

Scorpio starts with Uno, they circle, tie up, and Uno powers Scorpio to a corner. Scorpio powers back out but Uno waistlocks. Scorpio switches and slams Uno then walks all over him. Ethan gloats, Uno gets up and circles with Scorpio. Scorpio keeps his hands back though Uno wants a test of strength. Scorpio puts his dukes up then wrenches an arm. Uno wrenches back, wristlocks, but Scorpio rolls. Uno rolls with him to keep the wristlock, then wrenches again to wrangle Scorpio to the mat. Uno drags Scorpio over, Stu tags in, but Scorpio gets away to his corner. Ethan tags in, Stu dodges him to triangle jump and APRON DDT Scorpio down!

Ethan realizes he’s alone with the Dark Order now! He swings on Stu but Stu counter punches and RAMS him into the corner! Tag to Uno, he CHOPS Ethan, then CHOPS him again! Tag to Stu, they coordinate for a springboard elbow drop SIDEWALK SLAM! Ethan scrambles away while fans fire up. Ethan wants a timeout but there’s no such thing in wrestling! Stu aims to APRON SENTON Ethan! Ethan gets in the ring but Scorpio trips Stu up hard! Scorpio tags in then slingshot CUTTERS! Scorpio soaks up the heat as AEW goes picture in picture.

Scorpio drags Stu up, whips him to a corner hard, then mocks Sting’s howl before he runs in. STINGER SPLASH! Clearly a message sent to the Icon! Scorpio drags Stu up, tags in Ethan, and they mug Stu. Stu throws body shots on Ethan, but Ethan shoves Stu to then run him over! Ethan knocks Uno down, too, then drags Stu over to tag in Scorpio. Ethan stomps Stu’s legs while Scorpio scrapes his soles on Stu’s face! Stu scrambles to ropes but Scorpio hokes him! The ref counts, Scorpio lets off and gets Stu up to ROCK him with a right! Ethan traps Stu in the corner, Scorpio throws uppercuts!

Scorpio soaks up the heat but Stu kicks and elbows back! Stu throws forearms, Scorpio knees low! Scorpio whips Stu to ropes but Stu sunset flips! Ethan tags in and stomps Stu down! Ethan gets Stu up to whip hard into a corner, but Stu boots him back! Stu hops up, Scorpio anchors his feet and Ethan ROCKS Stu before hitting ICONOCLASM! Ethan drags Stu by an arm, tags Scorpio in, and they mug Stu more. Scorpio paces around Stu, stomps him, then taunts him. Stu goes to the corner but Scorpio throws hands. Scorpio stalks Stu, throws hands, then talks some trash while he chokes Stu in a corner.

AEW returns to single picture while the ref has to keep an angry Uno back. Stu ROCKS Scorpio! And again! Stu CHOPS Scorpio, but Scorpio fireman’s carries! Stu slips off to hit an URENAGE! Both men are down, Scorpio tags Ethan and he drags Stu away. Stu flips back up to his feet, to DOUBLE PELE Ethan & Scorpio! Ethan and Scorpio stagger, Stu fires up with the fans and hot tags Uno! Uno DOUBLE CLOTHESLINES, then rallies with big forearms! Uno whips Ethan but Ethan reverses, only for Uno to RANA?! Scorpio runs but Uno trips him up to stomp the hands! Uno BITES Scorpio’s face! Then hits a SWINGING COMPLETE SHOT!

Ethan runs but Uno blocks the boot, gives it to the ref, and hits a NECKBREAKER! Tag to Stu and fans fire up! They each bring up Scorpio and Ethan, Stu puts Scorpio in a corner but Ethan ROUNDHOUSES Uno! Stu KNEES Ethan into Uno’s boots! “GET OVER HERE!” Uno boots Ethan into Stu’s OVERHEAD Belly2Belly, and Ethan lands on Scorpio! Fans fire up as Stu and Uno coordinate, for the 450 CANNONBALL COMBO! Cover, TWO!! Ethan survives and the Dark Order is shocked! Uno tags in, Stu goes to a corner and climbs as fans say, “This is Awesome!” Scorpio saves Ethan from Fatality and rakes Uno’s eyes! Stu rushes Scorpio but gets tripped up into the KNEEBAR!

Ethan gets Uno, crucifix for the EGO’S EDGE!! Ethan covers Uno, Ethan & Scorpio win!

Winners: Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky, by pinfall

The Ego and the Face of the Revolution win, and Ethan gets a mic! “Exactly what happened tonight will be happening this Sunday! Whether it’s that heel hook, or the Ego’s Edge, Sting and Darby-” They’re making their way back out! Darby has an army of Sting cosplayers! Darby and the Stingers rush in but Scorpio dumps out all the fake Stings! Wait, that one is the REAL Sting! Darby has Ethan in a sleeper hold, Ethan slips free, and he regroups with Scorpio! Will Sting’s return to a traditional tag match be one to remember?

Eric Bischoff heads to the ring!

The trailblazer in wrestling is going to host the celebration of the Inner Circle! We’ll see what Bischoff has to say after the break.

AEW returns once more, and Bischoff has a mic. “Oh, I love you people! Each and every single one of you! But isn’t time a funny thing, when you think about it? 25 years ago last night, as a matter of fact, I had the opportunity to introduce what would become, eventually, one of the factions that many people would say is the greatest faction of all time. On this very network, TNT! How about that?” But tonight, he has the opportunity to introduce another faction, and a group of badasses, that could very well take that crown. Join Bischoff in welcoming The Inner Circle!

Jericho leads the way for Santana, Ortiz, Sammy and Hager as the fans sing Judas. They join Bischoff in the ring and Jericho says it feels so good to be surrounded by fans again! And listen, it feels good to be here with a guy they called to make amends with. Bischoff, thank you for everything you’ve done for Jericho in his career, from WCW and beyond, and thank you for being here tonight. Bischoff thanks Jericho for having him here, and he couldn’t think of a better way to thank Jericho than to show us the sweet video package they put together. A greatest hits, if you will!

The video plays, and it starts with a montage of when they made their Dynamite debut, took the fight to the Nightmare Family and The Elite, to name a few. Spike to Moxley’s eye, car door to Dustin’s arm, sack of oranges to Orange Cassidy, baseball bat to Vanguard 1, and middle fingers all around. The fight with Mike Tyson, the handshake with Mike Tyson, the Bubbly bath for The Pinnacle, the fans cheer for it all. Santana says, “Wow! We’ve done some pretty cool shit, huh, boys?” But do they remember 10/2/2019? The night that everything changed for all of them? The night they created magic, and then 18 months later, they’re here stronger than ever!

Santana says alongside that entire locker room, they took this company, put it on their backs and carried it through the pandemic! “And here we are, standing with the return of the best fans in wrestling today!” If this is the last night as the Inner Circle, if this truly is their last dance, Santana wouldn’t have it any other way than with his brothers in front of all the fans. Ortiz continues by saying, “Yo, that was beautiful, man.” Hager says it was beautiful. He’s always been a believer in “It’s about the journey, not the destination,” so if this is it, then seeing the good times is not what he wants. He wants those hard times! The times they got beaten, bloodied, left with no choice.

Show Hager those times when each man left a part of their soul behind! Show Hager the hard times that make hard men! Those are the moments they should celebrate! Sammy takes the mic and fans cheer him on. “What else is there to say, man? We’ve been through everything together. Hell, when I came to AEW, I was wearing a freaking panda head.” And now, Sammy is in the greatest faction in ALL of pro-wrestling! Until he wasn’t. That time he quit the Inner Circle, he didn’t have his guys with him, he didn’t like that at all. He will do everything in his power to make sure that never happens again! But if it does and this is the end, then thanks for everything.

Jericho says when he was first asked about putting together a faction of his own, he was very hesitant. He doesn’t play well with others, and then he met these guys. “It just felt right!” The first time he saw a picture of all five, he thought, “Wow, these are some badass looking mother-” Ortiz says, “Shut your mouth, Chris.” Jericho adjusts course and says they were like Guns ‘n’ Roses in 1987! The way they looked, the way they thought, they didn’t care about anyone except each other and cared only about putting on the best performances possible, night after night after night!

And that hasn’t changed! Stadium Stampede 2 will be a war, a battle, and if something goes wrong, if they lose, they are going down in a blaze of glory! If this is the last time they’re together, then Jericho has one thing to say to the Inner Circle: “I love you.” Fans cheer that as the Inner Circle hugs it out. Then, they give one last group middle finger! But MJF is on the titantron and says, “Bravo.” MJF cries fake tears as he says that was a touching moment. The love and passion they have is incredible. But it makes him all the more excited for Sunday. Is Wardlow excited? Wardlow nods. How about you, Dean?

MJF moves aside and reveals they have DEAN MALENKO, beat up and stuck against the goal post! “Listen up, Chris! You and your boys better rush down to the stadium right now, before I make the Iceman over here extra cold!” MJF’s sunk to a new low going after someone not even involved in the Inner Circle! The Inner Circle runs as fast as they can from Daily’s Place to TIAA Field, but the Pinnacle AMBUSHES them! It was all MJF’s trap to get some early shots in before Double or Nothing! It’s a brawl all over the sidelines and bleachers! Spears has a chair to SMACK Sammy with! The “Canadian God” is euphoric as he stands over Sammy!

MJF throws Jericho down, Wardlow is after Hager, and FTR has Santana & Ortiz up on the bleacher level, aiming for tables! MJF, Spears and Wardlow all get their respective Inner Circle nemeses, and Tully coordinates for a QUINTUPLE PILEDRIVER, with FTR taking PNP THROUGH TABLES!! Spears sits in his chair, looming over Spears. MJF shouts “This is why when you are in The Pinnacle, you are always on top!” The Pinnacle puts their hands in, and their logo is on the titantron! Will this be what we see on Sunday? Or has the Pinnacle broken the Inner Circle even before Stadium Stampede 2?

My Thoughts:

A pretty good episode, especially for a go-home that seemed more a formality than anything, where not much would change this close to the PPV and all that. Having all the fans possible in Daily’s Place was great, though, they were fired up the whole night, made this episode feel big, as it should. Miro of course demolished Dante Martin, but he had a great promo with Jake and Archer, and we got a good though short brawl of them. I said this last week that it is hard to tell who wins at Double or Nothing, but I feel Archer needs this more than Miro since there’s the point of it being a year later from when he lost to Cody. So 51-49 in favor of Archer, but it’ll be a badass match of badass big guys either way.

There was some redundancy with Darby, Sting, Ethan and Scorpio, though. Darby VS Bononi was a good match to get fans going at the start, and naturally Darby wins to get momentum. Darby calling Ethan & Scorpio out, them claiming they won’t beat him and Sting up “for free” and all that was fine, but having Dark Order go after Ethan & Scorpio was a bit copy-paste from last week. Then they gave us the flipside after Ethan & Scorpio won that great main event match with Dark Order, and they pulled the “It’s Sting wearing a Sting mask!” move from Sting’s Impact days, that felt like the proper go-home segment. It doesn’t change that Sting & Darby are more than likely winning, in my opinion, so a lot of it just seemed purely for the live fans.

I didn’t expect the weigh-in segment to be in the first half hour, but fine, they got it out of the way. There was somebody new with The Factory that they didn’t bother introducing here, maybe we meet him properly on the Dark episodes set for this week. Again, a lot of this was just posturing by Cody, the weigh-in affects nothing because it’s a non-title match and there are no weight classes in AEW, it is just their way of putting on another layer of sport in their blend of sports entertainment. Is the weight difference of 218 VS 219 and QT’s piss poor way of making it a big deal supposed to be the “standing tall” part in the math? I mean, we’ve all felt Cody is winning this cuz “LOL Cody Wins” but I guess whatever they need to make it fit their logic…

Hobbs and Christian brawling was a great thing, though. Helps hype up their part of the battle royal, could even turn into a Street Fight for these two on the post PPV Dynamite next Friday or sometime later. Hangman VS Janela was very good, though I’m a little disappointed they had a kayfabe way of not making Janela ditching Kiss on Dark a bigger deal. Hangman thwarting an attack by Team Taz by questioning Cage’s manhood was actually a good move. Their match is going to be great, but as I’ve said, that FTW Championship needs to start being defended. Even if it’s just on Dark or Elevation, someone should be having matches with Cage for that.

The promo from Moxley and Kingston was great, but as I wrote, TNT cut away. This Dynamite was live, so obviously they didn’t take into consideration that this prerecorded promo was pretty long. They still gotta figure that kind of stuff out, honestly. I like that Pac “interrupted” the segment for Cassidy’s response to Omega. Callis’ set-up to Omega’s ambush was confusing. Pac was calling out Kenny, why the hell would Callis talk about himself going out there? Lucha Bros running off Good Brothers was fine, Best Friends seeing Cassidy out there was fine, but Cassidy giving Omega an envelope of shredded paper was great stuff. Cassidy standing tall sadly means Omega retains, but that was also expected.

Jade getting a match tonight was a surprise, but I probably just wasn’t paying attention to AEW social media. Of course Jade wins, but I did like the promo before where Hardy finds out too little too late that Jade’s signed Sterling as her manager. I am already waiting to see a Triple Threat where there are also the managers, Jade w/ Sterling VS Nyla w/ Vickie VS Bunny w/ Hardy and we see which Heel manager can pull off a screwjob better. The celebration of Shida’s anniversary wasn’t as big as I expected, but getting a bigger, better belt was cool. Britt showing up was expected, though, and I guess she’s replacing Austin 3:16 with Britt DMD. I feel this is another 51-49, Britt gets the belt since Shida got this moment here, and then the match-ups are freshened up.

Sammy had another good cue card promo, and The Inner Circle celebration was a little less than I expected, but the promos the members had were all good. All of that made me think they really were going to split-up after Double or Nothing, but then there was The Pinnacle’s trap. In the same way The Inner Circle got the better of The Elite last year going into Stadium Stampede I, Pinnacle standing tall over Inner Circle now has to mean they’re losing. Inner Circle will find a way to overcome The Pinnacle, and similarly to Sammy taking that insane One Winged Angel, I bet MJF or Spears are the guys to take an insane finisher spot to end the match.

My Score: 8.6/10

The Elite arrives at Daily’s Place.

They roll up together in the same SUV, showing off all their gold, from Kazuchika Okada still being the AEW Continental Champion to The Young Bucks being the NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions. Matthew congratulates The Rainmaker, and says he is so proud. Nicholas says he is proud of being the first-ever THREE-TIME AEW World Tag Team Champions. Wait, who is this pulling up next? It’s JACK PERRY! He just smiles at the cameraman, and Matt says alright, gentlemen, it’s a big night! They head in, but then security flags Jack down, saying he can’t be here.

Matt has security stop there, Jack is with The Elite. Hands off the merchandise. And cameraman, stick with The Elite, they’ve got some business to attend to. The Scapegoat walks with The Elite, just what will they do on this Homecoming night?

Orange Cassidy is here!

Daily’s Place fires up as Freshly Squeezed makes his way out, or rather is TOSSED out by Trent Beretta! Trent’s modified the old T-Shirt so it now reads, “Trent & Orange w/ Chuck Taylor win the big one.” Trent DECKS Cassidy down the ramp while fans boo the further betrayal! Trent DECKS Cassidy again, and Cassidy flops into the ring! Trent rains down fists, soaks up the heat, and then he gets a mic. “Chuck. Chuck, it’s time. Please get out here.” Trent waits, but tells the fans they have no idea what they’re talking about so please. Chuck walks out on stage and Trent apologizes? He is sorry… that he didn’t do this a long time ago!

Trent is sorry that Best Friends spent five YEARS hugging a narcissistic p*ick! Cassidy was brought in here to be their sidekick, yet somehow he made Best Friends into his lackies! Best Friends fought for Cassidy, protected him, did EVERYTHING for him, and yet Cassidy gave them NOTHING! Cassidy does NOT care about Chuck! Cassidy is NOT his friend! Trent looms over Cassidy while the fans rally for “FRESHLY SQUEEZED! FRESHLY SQUEEZED!” Trent tells Chuck that Trent cares about him. Trent IS Chuck’s friend. So please… Do the right thing and give the people what they want. Trent tosses the mic to Chuck so he can respond.

Trent holds his arms open, and then Chuck holds his arms open, to then stop and say he always thought Trent was a POS! Chuck DECKS Trent!! Trent tumbles away, gets back up, but avoids Chuck’s haymaker! The Kentucky Gentleman tells Trent he knows that they won’t clear Chuck for a fight in this ring. But Chuck doesn’t wanna fight in this ring, he wants to fight in the damn parking lot!! The fans go nuts hearing that! Trent shakes his head, but will he have no choice but to fight his former Best Friend?

Jon Moxley speaks.

“I am confident tonight that I will defend successfully my IWGP Championship, but I don’t want you to mistake that for arrogance, or ignorance, or an underestimation of my opponent, ‘Powerhouse’ Hobbs. I know exactly who ‘Powerhouse’ Hobbs is, what he’s capable of. A truck of a man who hits like one, too. Born and bred with a killer instinct, an instinct I can see and smell from a mile away. I’m acutely aware of what’s at stake tonight. I know it’ll only take one mistake for my entire world to come crashing down around me. And I know that this Callis Family put a hit out on my friend, so I know just how far they’re willing to go to get an edge to win.

“But nobody knows better than me what it takes to get to the top. More importantly, what it takes to stay at the top. So I know, honestly, for me, tonight’s gonna suck. It’s gonna be a walk through Hell. A march through mud and fire, slings and arrows, a march through Hell. But there’s no place I’d rather be, there’s no better way to feel alive. I don’t play golf, man. This is pro-wrestling, this is the king of sports, the greatest thing int he world. And tonight, I’m gonna remind the world just who I am, in case they’ve forgotten. When all the oxygen is pulled out of Powerhouse’s lungs and his carcass hits the canvas, they’re gonna feel it, from Jacksonville to Tokyo!”

The Maniac heads out, but will the Book of Hobbs’ next chapter be written in gold?

AEW World Championship Eliminator: Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Kyle Fletcher w/ Don Callis!

Whose Dynasty? SWERVE’S DYNASTY! Because The Realest did dethrone the One True King of Wrestling Television to become the NEW AEW World Champion! Prince Nana leads the way with his dance as Swerve looks to be a fighting champion! Will Swerve snipe the Aussie Arrow? Or will the Don Callis Family already have a win on a world champion to start the night?

The bell rings and the fans rally for Swerve as he stares Kyle down. They circle, get face to face, talk some trash, and then Swerve goes for a leg! Kyle facelocks to fight the takedown, then slips around to a waistlock. Swerve switches and hammerlocks, but Kyle reaches back to headlock. Swerve cranks the hammerlock, but Kyle reaches for legs. Kyle manages to switch, snapmare and then ghost pin, TWO! Kyle headlocks but Swerve slips right out to hammerlock again. Swerve grinds Kyle down but Kyle fights to the ROPEBREAK. Both men block the other’s kick, and the fans fire up as they both let off. The two reset, the fans rally for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!”

Swerve and Kyle circle, Kyle kicks but Swerve blocks, only for Kyle to ROCK Swerve with a forearm. Kyle whips, Swerve goes up and over then JUMP SOBATS! The fans fire up as Kyle sputters, and then Swerve UPPERCUTS, snapmares, and goes up to FALLING UPPERCUT! Swerve hits the Griddy and the fans fire up! Swerve says “DU~VAL~!” and the fans echo it. Swerve BACK DROPS Kyle away! Kyle writhes, Swerve goes to the apron and he tells fans to pay attention, get off their phones. PENALTY KICK and Kyle goes down! The fans cheer while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Swerve struts around before he fetches Kyle, and whips him into railing! Swerve again tells fans to watch the show, not their phones. He fist bumps the front row, gets Kyle back up, and pushes him into the ring. Swerve has Kyle on the apron to CLUB him. Swerve then stalks Kyle to a corner, ROCKS him, then has him on ropes. Swerve UPPERCUTS Kyle, whips him to ropes, but Kyle reverses to scoop and SLAM! Swerve writhes while Kyle mockingly shouts, “Whose house?!” Kyle even gets on a corner to soak up the heat and tell Jacksonville up theirs! Kyle goes back to Swerve, Swerve throws body shots, but then Kyle swings. Swerve blocks to fire more body shots!

Swerve turns Kyle for a NECKBREAKER! Swerve drags Kyle around, covers, TWO! Kyle is still in this but Swerve clamps onto him with an armlock and chinbar. Swerve grinds his elbow into Kyle’s face, then grabs the other arm. Swerve wrangles Kyle into a CAMEL CLUTCH, but then makes it a SLEEPER STRETCH! Kyle still endures, fights free, and Dynamite returns to single picture as he stands. Kyle fires body shots, but Swerve grabs the arm. Kyle KICKS and KICKS but Swerve blocks, slips around, LEG CAPTURE BACKBREAKER! Swerve again grinds on the arms, pulls on back, but Kyle slips through to arm-drag free!

Swerve has the wristlock but Kyle fires forearm after forearm! Swerve swings, Kyle swats it to SLAP Swerve! Kyle whips, Swerve flips up and around but Kyle SUPERKICKS him! Then scoop and MICHINOKU DRIVER! Both men are down and the fans fire up! A camera is backstage, and we see The Elite plus Jack Perry walking right up to Tony Khan’s office. Matthew doesn’t even knock as he leads the way right in. In the ring, Swerve and Kyle rise while the fans rally up. Swerve goes to ropes, Kyle runs in, but is put on the apron! Kyle waistlocks to drag Swerve out, and half nelsons! Swerve fights that, slips around, APRON NECKBREAKER!

The fans rally for Swerve while he shakes out his arm, then he encourages them to get louder. Swerve goes up the corner, Kyle slowly sits up, APRON KILL STOMPS!! Swerve clutches a leg, that was a risky move that may have been double-edged! Swerve walks off the pain and fans rally up. Swerve pushes Kyle into the ring, hurries to another corner, and then runs up, HOUSE- NO, Kyle catches the foot! ANKLE LOCK!! Kyle THRASHES the foot but Swerve endures! The fans rally for Swerve as he fights around, reaches out, but Kyle drags him away from ropes! GRAPEVINE!! Swerve is caught, and Kyle is even stomping Swerve’s back!

Swerve endures, the fans are thunderous, and Swerve crawls to the ROPEBREAK! Kyle lets go but keeps his eyes on Swerve. Kyle brings Swerve around to KICK him in the chest! And KICK him again! And KIJCK again, but Swerve blocks! Swerve ROCKS Kyle, Kyle ROLLING ELBOWS! Swerve MULE KICKS, HAYMAKERS, and whips to HIP TOSS! Roll through to the deadlift, but the bad foot holds Swerve back! Kyle suplexes, Swerve slips around and half nelsons but Kyle breaks that. Swerve still O’Conner Rolls so that he can BOOT from below! Kyle wobbles, into the SOMERSAULT FLATLINER! Swerve rolls through again, for the BRAINBUSTER!

The fans fire up as Swerve crawls back to cover, TWO!! Kyle survives and Swerve is frustrated. Swerve snarls, drags Kyle up for a gut wrench, but Kyle flails and kicks his way to turn it around! But then Swerve flails and kicks to turn it back around! So Kyle drops, victory roll and deadlift, into the JUMPING TOMBSTONE!! Cover, TWO!! Swerve survives and now Kyle is frustrated! Winner: Swerve Strickland, by pinfall (denies Kyle Fletcher a title opportunity)

The Realest crosses Kyle off the list, and Callis is disappointed Kyle didn’t play things how he wanted. Are tensions rising in the Don Callis Family? Who will be next to step to Swerve’s Dynasty?

Anna drags Mina up, CHOKES her more, but the ref counts. Anna lets off, Mina coughs and sputters, but Anna soaks up the heat. Anna drags Mina up, cravats and snapmares, then clamps on a FULL NELSON! Mina endures, fights around, and Mariah cheers Mina on as she fights up. Mina throws elbows to fight the hold, but Anna holds tight! Dynamite returns to single picture as Mina breaks free and ROCKS Anna!

Anna survives but Mina keeps her focus. Mina ROCKS Anna again, brings her in, but Anna wrenches out of the suplex to HOOK KICK! Then Gory Especial, GORY BOMB! Shoutout to Tay and Anna covers, TWO!!

Anna is beside herself but Mariah is also worried. Anna brings Mina up but Mina fights the STO! Mina gets free, blocks a kick, and DRAGON SCREWS! Then she steps through on the legs, FIGURE FOUR! The fans “WOO~” but Anna endures and fights to the ROPEBREAK! Mina lets go fast to go up a corner. MISSILE DROPKICK! Anna staggers back up, into the GLAMOROUS SWORD! Cover, TWO!! Anna survives Mina’s enzigiri but Mina drags her into the dragon sleeper! GLAM- NO, Anna slips free to have the QUEENSLAYER!! Mina flails, reaches out, but Anna is too busy staring down Mariah! Mina wrenches out to wrangle Anna!

Mina hooks legs, GLAMOROUS COLLECTION MINA! MINA WINS!!

Winner: Mina Shirakawa, by pinfall

Anna got cocky and got caught! Mariah brings in the champagne and glasses, and they toast the victory! But then Anna CLOBBERS Mariah and DECKS Mina! The fans are torn as Anna puts the QUEENSLAYER on Mariah!! Mariah flails, but here comes Toni Storm! The champ runs Anna off to protect her protege! “How DARE~ you!” Storm checks on Mariah, but wait! SERENA DEEB is here! The Professor of Professional Wrestling is looking rather glamorous herself as she struts out, tosses Storm’s shoes aside, and looks at the AEW Women’s World Championship! Deeb sits down beside it on the ramp and has the camera come in close.

Deeb says she could hold the title up, but she won’t. Because instead, she’s going to make the AEW Women’s Division a promise: the next time she holds the belt, it will truly belong to her as the NEW AEW Women’s World Champion. Deeb is undefeated, will she remain that way all the way through dethroning Timeless Toni Storm?

Kris Statlander & Stokely Hathaway are in the ring.

Dynamite returns as the Galaxy’s Greatest and #BigStoke are here, balloons at all the corners of the ring, and the fans cheering them on. Stokely says, “In 1977, Bill Withers created one of the greatest songs of all time, Lovely Day. And that’s exactly how I felt when one of my best friends became TBS Champion at Dynasty!” The fans cheer that! Stokely wants to know, is Jacksonville ready to partaaay~?! They sure sound like it! Stokely says Caprice Coleman is on commentary, Krissy Stat is right here, and she says this one’s for Willow.

“She is the Babe with the Power, and we are here to give her her flowers She reminds us that nothing matters and to smile anyway, because every time we see her, she brightens our day. I’m standing her in silver because she is our gold. And now, she has the TBS Championship to hold.” Stoke says with all due disrespect, that was two packs of ass! So let’s just bring out the NEW Face of TBS, “HOO! HOO!” WILLOW~ NIGHTINGALE! Coleman sings along with the theme song just like in ROH, and the Babe with the Championship makes her entrance. Willow gets the mic, Stokely says when this whole thing to started, he didn’t like her. Well she didn’t like him, either.

Stokely says Willow was like a fungus that they couldn’t cut off. But look at them now! Willow earned that title, and they are proud of her! Willow thanks Stokely and Kris, and is proud of herself, too. Because tonight in JACKSONVILLE~, the very place where she hit the big time. She’ll take us back to Spring of 2020. Willow was right here, in the front row, trying to get her big break. Then in 2022, she was in the ring, Tony Schiavone stepped in to join her, and on that big tron, we saw the graphic: Willow is All Elite! But tonight, Willow isn’t trying to catch a break, she is not a rookie. She is THE FACE OF TBS!! WHAT WHAT!

But wait, here comes The CEO. Mercedes Mone again steps on Willow’s moment, just like she did at Dynasty. But it’s already obvious why as she struts her way to the ring. Mone gets her own mic while the fans chant “C E O! C E O!” Mone tells “Jacksonviiiiille~” to say hello to the C E O. Willow tells Mone this has to be like the fourth time she’s done this. And this is Willow’s time! So it just feels like if Mone has something to say, then go ahead and say it. Mone says she just wanted to congratulate Willow! And to enjoy the celebration now, because in just 23 days, at Double or Nothing, you will be looking at the NEW Face of TBS, Mercedes Mone.

The fans are torn, but Mone says she just wanted to ask if Willow was the b*tch who attacked her in the dark two weeks ago! What? Why would she? Kris steps up to tell Mone that Willow got attacked just last week, so how do we know Mone didn’t do that? Well how do we know it wasn’t Kris?! They argue, Stokely speaks up and says while he hates getting up in women’s business, we all know it was Julia Hart. Willow says even before this whodunnit, it feels like there’s been a personal vendetta against her. Does Mone really think Willow meant to injure Sasha during the NJPW Women’s Tournament? Stokely says of course Mone thinks that, but then Kris shuts him up.

Mone asks Willow if she really just asked if Mone blames Willow for almost ending her career. Is Willow really asking if Mone blames Willow for all the pain and suffering Mone went through? Is Willow really asking if Mone was blaming Willow for taking away the one thing Mone loves most for a whole year? Willow doesn’t want the truth, she just wants to feel better about what she did to Mone. Willow says she genuinely feels so awful what happened. But there were a lot of questions and doubts for her, too. She went to hotel room, she looked at the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, and she should’ve been smiling.

But the whole time, she wondered to herself, “Could I have beaten Mercedes Mone at 100%?” And then the next day, Willow saw everyone saying that online. She heard the locker room saying it! And so that NJPW Strong Women’s title reign has quite the asterisk next to it. But THIS title reign? This? There is NOT asterisk next to this! The fans fire up for that! So at Double or Nothing, Mone, Willow wants you at 100%! Because Willow wants to show Mone that she CAN beat her, and why Willow IS TBS Champion. The fans fire up for that! Mone says to enjoy it while she can, because they both know deep down, Willow CAN’T beat Mone.

The fans are torn as the two stare down, and then Mone says bye. Kris grabs at Mone, Mone turns around and mistakenly SLAPS Willow!! Kris has to stop Willow from retaliating, and then refs get out there to stop it! Kris’s mistake only just turned up the heat on this one! Will there be no holding back from the CEO or the Babe with the Power when it’s Double or Nothing?

Alex Marvez waits outside Tony Khan’s office.

Jack Perry is the first to exit and Marvez says they’ve been in there a long time.  Is Jack reinstated in AEW? Jack doesn’t answer and moves on, so Marvez asks “Okada-san” if that’s the case. The Rainmaker just pats Marvez on the shoulder and follows Jack. Nicholas, is Jack All Elite again? Matthew, please, Marvez needs the scoop! Is Jack Perry once again in AEW? Matt wishes he had a better scoop for Marvez, but things are still uncertain. One thing Matt will tell Marvez is… Tony Khan literally just agreed to talk with Jack in the ring, live here tonight. That’s still a pretty big scoop! Will TK bring the Scapegoat back into the fold?

Casino Gauntlet!

AEW shuffles the deck and puts a golden opportunity for Double or Nothing on the line! This isn’t your typical gauntlet, either! It is “sudden death,” so anyone that scores a pinfall or submission wins, BUT! There are also timed intervals, so more and more competitors will be added, meaning things can get really crazy really quickly. One way or another, the AEW International Champion will have a new challenger, but who will it be when it’s the luck of the draw?

First out, it’s King Switch! Jay White leads Austin & Colten Gunn out as the NEW unified AEW & ROH World Trios Champions, but will Bullet Club Gold be adding even more gold to the collection? Second out, Top Flight’s Dante Martin! Will Angel Dorado get himself a golden ticket instead?

Jay White VS Dante Martin!

Dante wobbles into Penta’s fireman’s carry, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Penta spins for the SWINGING DEATH VALLEY! Penta then goes back to a corner, climbs up, but White SHOVES Him to the ramp! White then runs up, fireman’s carries, but Penta fights free! And SUPERKICKS! White flops to the apron, Penta uses him as a step to get up and in and hit a DESTROYER on Dante!! Fans lose their minds as Penta stands, and says “CERO! MIEDO!” Dante bails out so Penta goes after White. Penta CHOPS White, then hears the fans rally up. Penta goes out after Dante, gets him in the ring, and stands him up against ropes. Penta winds up, to CHOP! Dante grits his teeth, but White BOOTS Penta down!

White stands Penta up, CHOPS Penta, but Penta CHOPS in return! Penta hears the fans rallying for “CERO! MIEDO!” and he goes back to SUPERKICK White! Penta stands Dante up, whips him to ropes and SUPERKICKS him down! But then White gets Penta for a cradle, TWO!! Penta escapes, White UPPERCUTS him down! White snarls, stomps Dante, then stomps a mudhole into Dante at the corner. White drags Dante up, whips him to ropes, and back drops him away! White covers, TWO! Penta is after White but White scrambles away as Dynamite returns to single picture. Penta brings Dante up, but Dante fights the suplex!

White storms back in, CLUBS them both down, and next up is KYLE O’REILLY! Whoa, #CombatKyle is now #CleanKyle as his hair and beard are trimmed. Maybe he’s going back to those babyface assassin days!

Jay White VS Dante Martin VS Penta El Zero Miedo VS Kyle O’Reilly!

Kyle KICKS White down, KICKS Penta down, and KICKS Dante down! Kyle fires forearms on White, then wrenches. Dante gets up, Kyle BOOTS him away, then gives White an ELBOW BREAKER! Kyle wrenches Dante, BOOTS Penta, then hits an ELBOW BREAKER! Wrench on Penta, ELBOW BREAKER! Kyle whips, Penta reverses but Kyle goes up and over. Kyle also ducks Dante so Dante’s LARIAT takes down Penta! Dante runs up, Kyle blocks the kick and gives it to Penta. Then Kyle gets one of Penta’s legs, DOUBLE DRAGON SCREW!! White KNEES Kyle low, runs but into a KNEE from Kyle! Kyle snapmares White, runs, but feints to then SLAP him!

The fans fire up while White frowns. White gets up but Kyle fires off fast strikes! KICK, LEG SWEEP, and the fans fire up! Dante wheelbarrows Kyle, but Kyle drops that into the ARMBAR! White stomps but Kyle catches that, to a HEEL HOOK! White flails, ROPEBREAK! Kyle lets go, and now we add WILL OSPREAY! Will the Aerial Assassin take his momentum from Dynasty and make it Double or Nothing?

Jay White VS Dante Martin VS Penta El Zero Miedo VS Kyle O’Reilly VS Will Ospreay!

Ospreay storms right in, Kyle staring him down! They fire forearms and the fans are thunderous already! Ospreay fires up to fire off a flurry! Kyle KICKS, whips, but Ospreay BOOTS back! Ospreay goes up and out to springboard, PIP PIP CHEERIO! Penta runs up to KICK Ospreay’s leg! Dante gets in, he and Penta double whip, but Ospreay handsprings to DOUBLE PELE! But White SLEEPER- NO, Ospreay arm-drags free! These two know each other well and the fans are thunderous to see this one! White and Ospreay shake hands, but then White CLAWS Ospreay’s face! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS!

White clinches, but Ospreay fights free to CHOP! Ospreay whips, White holds ropes to bail out, but the fans boo. Dante kicks Ospreay and runs, into a SPANISH FLY! Cover, TWO! And out comes LANCE ARCHER! The Murderhawk Monster says #EverybodyDies, will that be the case in this sudden death gauntlet?

Jay White VS Dante Martin VS Penta El Zero Miedo VS Kyle O’Reilly VS Will Ospreay VS Lance Archer!

Ospreay shakes his head, but Archer storms right in! Ospreay gets in Archer’s… well, chest, but he fires off forearms! Archer DECKS him! Kyle returns, Archer LARIATS! Penta runs up, Archer LARIATS! Archer brings White over, and SMACKS him off the table.

Ospreay fires forearms on Archer, then brings him around to SMACK off the apron. Ospreay goes up, takes aim, and FLYING- BODY CHECK!! Archer just has Ospreay bounce right off him! White ROCKS Archer, ROCKS him again, then brings him around to the tables. White fireman’s carries, but Archer’s too big! Archer CLUBS White, CLUBS him again, then ROCKS him! Archer BOOTS Penta, sends him into railing, then goes back for White. White fights the choke grip but gets an APRON CHOKE SLAM for it!! Archer roars, White dangles before he flops, then Archer goes back up the apron. Archer grins while Dynamite returns to single picture.

Archer drags White up to the apron, but next is KOMANDER! The AAA Cruiserweight Champion’s entrance distracts Archer so that White can CLAW the eyes! We’re now at a Lucky 7 Way, is this where someone’s luck runs out?

Jay White VS Dante Martin VS Penta El Zero Miedo VS Kyle O’Reilly VS Will Ospreay VS Lance Archer VS Komander!

The Assassin found a target and took them out! But here comes the Undisputed Kingdom, the Savior of the Backbreaker leading the way. Roderick Strong stares Ospreay down, with Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, Wardlow and Adam Cole all backing him up. Ospreay doesn’t back down, will he simply tear that gold away from The Kingdom?

Chris Jericho is here!

And as his new theme says, he is The Learning Tree. But what we see is that he is the NEW FTW Champion after cracking Hook in the head with a baseball bat at Dynasty. Jericho smiles and waves at the fans while he gets a mic, but they’re booing back. “Hey, guys! It’s true, I’m the new FTW Champion! It’s great, right? And there’s been a lot of negative connotation with the letters F T W. Does it mean F The World? Does it mean Forget The World? No, it’s none of those things, I’m changing it right here, right now. From now on, this means FOR The World Championship, because this was FOR all of you!”

The fans boo and Taz can’t stomach this on commentary. Jericho says “we” won this together! The whole world is buzzing and he knows why. Jericho is doing God’s work. The Wrestling God, that is, and that’s Terry Funk. Terry once told Jericho that it is now Jericho’s responsibility to teach the younger generation and take them to the next level, and that is what Jericho is doing! Thank you, Terry Funk, and thank you, fans. And thanks, Hook! What a great champion and a tough competitor in the ring. Hook beat the hell outta Jericho, but his only flaw is that there are still certain things he needs to take from The Learning Tree.

There are lessons Jericho wants to teach Hook, including how to get rid of the dead weight that surrounds him: Taz, Shibata, the collateral damage, and all the clowns that support him. More importantly, Hook, you need to listen to Jericho when he says to stay down. Jericho told Hook to stay down but Hook kept getting back up. Even after two Judas Effects! Hook forced Jericho to hit him in the head with the baseball bat. So that’s on Hook. But Jericho knows Hook is listening, thinking on the lessons he learned, and that is exciting to Jericho.

What is also exciting to Jericho is the list of men and women who have been drawn into the #JerichoVortex and come out the other side even bigger and better stars! So many! Jericho is so excited- Wait! “Big Bill” Morrissey is here! Bill has a mic already as he steps to Jericho in the ring. Bill tells Jericho, “I have been in the back listening to you, and I only have one thing to say.” Jericho waits as Bill thinks on his words, and Bill says he needs The Learning Tree! The fans boo, they were clearly hoping for something else.

Bill says everyone knows Jericho is the Socrates of Professional Wrestling! Always willing to give advice, to lend a hand, and to take a less established guy and bring him up to the top with him. That is Chris Jericho to a T. Jericho nods, and Bill knows there is a long line of guys foaming at the mouth for the very opportunity to be under the Learning Tree. But Bill wants Jericho to take this into consideration: there is nobody bigger than Bill, nor better fit for the Learning Tree. Jericho knows it deep down in his heart that Bill is the very best fit for The Learning Tree.

Jericho does have to say, Bill, he has been watching Bill a long time. A fan of his for years. It’s partly why Bill is in AEW. But Jericho will think on what Bill said, and he’ll keep his eye on Bill to see if what he says is true. Bill says go ahead and do that, because he’ll do just that. Just watch him. Bill heads out, Jericho says he sure will be. Let’s celebrate together! Jericho waves and gives a thumbs up, but will Bill be The Learning Tree’s first true pupil?

Backstage interview with The Don Callis Family.

Renee is with Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher and Callis himself as she congratulates Ospreay on becoming #1 contender to the International Championship. Callis, the rest of the Family has had an evening of ups and downs, so- Callis “apologizes” for interrupting but he has to say, he is so happy for the “golden goose,” and now Ospreay will have the gold. An international star deserves the International Championship. The only note Callis has, that Tiger Driver 91, AKA Storm Driver 93. He had that all set up, why didn’t Ospreay use it? No, Ospreay doesn’t wanna do that anymore. Not after what he did to Bryan.

Callis doesn’t understand, what happened? Ospreay says we all saw what happened to Bryan because of his neck, and Kyle O’Reilly has a bad neck, too. Storm Driver has to go. Callis doesn’t care about any of that, Ospreay should win! Roddy’s got a bad neck, so what’s gonna happen if Ospreay shows weakness? Fletcher speaks up saying that Ospreay still won, and he’ll win at Double or Nothing, what does it matter about that move? Callis tells Fletcher shouldn’t be talking about winning after how tonight went. Ospreay WILL be International Champion because he’s gonna nail Roddy with Storm Driver, break his neck, and take his title!

Now, Callis needs to go find Hobbs, he’s gonna coach Powerhouse to a championship tonight, just like Ospreay will win at the PPV. Callis leaves Ospreay and Fletcher behind, Fletcher apologizes on Callis’ behalf. Are the former Empire boys still united despite how Callis is leading this “family?”

IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Jon Moxley VS “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs!

It was a Windy City Riot when The Maniac took this title off Tetsuya Naito, and he made a point of saying he runs from no challenge. NJPW’s Ren Narita and Shota Umino are both waiting on the other side of this match, will they still get their shot at Moxley? Or will the Don Callis Family start to take over the wrestling world?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who makes history in this historic main event!

The bell rings and the two circle. They feel things out as the fans rally, and Moxley KICKS a leg. Hobbs stays up, feel things out with Mox, but Moxley KICKS again. Hobbs SMACKS Moxley off railing, then he runs up, only for Moxley to avoid the boot! Hobbs gets caught up on the railing, Moxley BOOTS him over! Moxley goes up the railing, Hobbs rises, but Moxley AX HANDLES him down!

Moxley headlocks, brings Hobbs around the back of the fans, and throws hands. Moxley ROCKS Hobbs, Hobbs HEADBUTTS, and they brawl! The ring count starts, both men have until 20, and we’re at 4 now. Hobbs SMACKS Moxley off a trash can! Hobbs stalks Moxley around the way, CHOPS, then brings Moxley around to ROCK him! Hobbs stalks Moxley, CLUBS him, then pushes him. Moxley hobbles his way back to railing, but turns around to fire haymakers! Hobbs KNEES low, TOSSES Moxley over railing, then storms after him. The count is 15 but Moxley gets in the ring. Hobbs follows and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Hobbs storms up on Moxley, talks trash, but Moxley SLAPS him and flips him off! Moxley eggs Hobbs on so Hobbs BOOTS him down! Moxley flops to the apron then the floor. Hobbs storms out after Moxley, and RAMS him into railing! Hobbs scoops Moxley to APRON POWERSLAM! And APRON POWERSLAM again! And again!! Hobbs snarls, brings Moxley around and SLINGS him down! Hobbs leaves Moxley behind in the ring to soak up cheers and jeers, and even make the pecs dance. IWGP rules do let titles change hands on count-outs, will Hobbs settle for that? No, Hobbs goes out to fetch Moxley, wanting to beat him directly.

Moxley blocks a suplex, fires forearms, but Hobbs hits back! They brawl, Moxley whips but Hobbs reverses! Moxley hits railing hard, and slumps down. Hobbs sits Moxley up to throw down hands, then goes up to rain down mores fists! The ring count climbs, but Hobbs still goes to TEN! Hobbs brings Moxley around to suplex to the floor! Moxley hobbles away, but Hobbs storms up after him. They go up the steel steps and into the ring, and Hobbs eggs Moxley on. Hobbs stomps Moxley, soaks up more cheers and jeers, then BOOTS Moxley down as Dynamite goes to break!

Dynamite returns and Hobbs says he’s whooping Moxley’s ass! Moxley crawls, Hobbs brings him up, but Moxley CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! But Hobbs body shots, then BEARHUGS! Moxley endures, even as Hobbs squeezes tight! Hobbs throws body shots, Moxley throws elbows, and Moxley is free. But Hobbs CLUBS Moxley first! Hobbs whips Moxley to a corner, then has him on the rebound. Callis doesn’t want Hobbs to wait, keep on him! Hobbs whips Moxley to the other corner, runs in, but Moxley BOOTS! Moxley runs, but Hobbs SLAMS the cutter down! Moxley staggers up, Hobbs runs in, but the splash only gets buckles!

Hobbs falls, clutching a knee. Hobbs bails out, Moxley goes to ropes and takes aim. Moxley builds speed as Hobbs rises, to DIVE! Down goes Hobbs again! The ref checks Hobbs as Hobbs still clutches his knee. The fans rally for Moxley as he rises, fires himself back up, and then gets Hobbs up. Moxley puts Hobbs in, storms around to slide in from the other side, and then waits on Hobbs. Hobbs rises, hobbles, and Moxley runs up to RAM him into a corner! Moxley goes up to rain down fists! Moxley goes way past ten, all the way to TWENTY!! Moxley keeps going past even that! Hobbs can barely guard, Moxley gives him PARADIGM SHIFT!! Cover, TWO?!?

Moxley slips around to a REAR NAKED CHOKE!! Hobbs sputters, flails, reaches out, but Moxley squeezes tight! Hobbs is fading, the ref calls it! MOXLEY WINS!

Winner: Jon Moxley, by submission (still IWGP World Champion)

Hobbs is a powerhouse, but even he needs to breathe! The Maniac has his first defense in the books, but NJPW Wrestling Dontaku is coming. Will the #SouledOut Ren Narita take this title from Moxley? Or is Moxley going to blast through him to then take on his former protege, Shota Umino? Wait! Konosuke Takeshita appears on stage. The Alpha wants his own shot at that IWGP World Championship, will he get in line ahead of Narita and Shota?

Backstage interview with Katsuyori Shibata.

Renee is with The Wrestler and brings up Jericho’s “choice words” for him. But what does Shibata have to say in response? Shibata uses his Google Translate voice-to-text to say, “Jericho called me deadweight and collateral damage. Next week, I’m going to damage him in his hometown of Winnipeg, and become FTW Champion.” So then that’s an official challenge for the title? “Yes, with FTW Rules. Jericho, I’m going to chop down your Learning Tree.” Okay then, Winnipeg, Jericho VS Shibata for the FTW title, it is official! Shibata then adds that the rhinestones on Renee’s shirt make a heart, how nice. Yes, she thought so, too.

Shibata is ready to take the fight to Jericho, will The Wrestler prove the Learning Tree is all bark and no bite?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

“Ladies and gentlemen… Jack Perry.” The fans are torn as The Scapegoat makes his way out, with no music since he isn’t an AEW talent anymore. Jack takes the mic from Schiavone while fans sing, “OH~ Cry Me a River~!” Jack says first thing’s first, he wants it known that he’s had some of the best nights of his life right here in Jacksonville! The fans cheer that! Jack says tonight… they have business to handle. And he wants to handle it right here, right now, face to face… with Tony Khan! Jack waits, the fans chant “He’s Our Scapegoat!” and here comes TK. Tony Khan joins Jack in the ring, as promised earlier tonight.

Jack says it has been a long road. TK agrees. Almost five years ago was the very first Double or Nothing. And since then, AEW has gone on to change the world. But now, TK, it is no secret they’ve had their ups and downs, haven’t always seen eye to eye. But Jack will say right now, from the bottom of his heart, he swears to God, the only thing that Jack has ever wanted is what’s best for AEW. The fans cheer that and TK applauds as he agrees there. So Jack just wants to ask TK to please shake his hand, reinstate him, and let’s go on to continue to change the world together. The fans like the sound of that!

TK gives a big thumbs up, he and Jack shake hands, and they hug it out! Jack is All Elite once again, and then Jack smiles at the camera… Jack raises TK’s hand, the fans cheer, and then Jack DECKS TK!! The Elite rush out here, from Nick to Matt to Okada, and they ask Jack what the hell! This is TK, THE boss of AEW! You can’t just do that, Jack! Jack nods, backs away, and The Bucks help TK sit up, but it looks a little suspicious…! The Bucks realize the optics, as does Okada, and they all say no no no, it’s not what anyone thinks. They help TK to his feet, and then Okada says do it. Matt scoops TK!! Nick goes up a corner!! T K DRIVER ON TK?!?!

The fans lose their minds as The EVPs stand over Tony Khan’s body! Jack drags TK to the center of the ring so all four of them can stand together. The refs rush out and ask what the hell is wrong with the EVPs! Jack says he waited for eight MONTHS to do that! Matt thanks Jacksonville for a great night, they love everyone so much! Jack, Okada, Nick & Matt leave the ring to have their curtain call on the stage. The Elite is running All Elite Wrestling now, are they going to change the world and remake it in their image?

As for Tony Khan, not only do wrestlers like Top Flight, The Infantry, Penta and Komander rush out to check on him, Tony’s father, Shahid Khan, is here! Shahid checks on his son, what will be done as the consequences for The Elite’s actions?

My Thoughts:

A really good episode of Dynamite here, but they were really not handling the audio that well. It was so hard to hear quite a few of the promos, well delivered as they all were. Rosa VS Deonna being set up was a good move, that’s definitely gonna be great. Really good stuff from Jericho as he leans into the obliviously selfish veteran persona, and I was definitely surprised Big Bill wanting to join him. Shibata has a good promo to call Jericho out, but if it’s FTW Rules, pretty sure Bill is gonna screw Shibata over so Jericho wins. And great stuff with the former Best Friends, Chuck VS Trent in a Parking Lot Brawl is going to be awesome stuff, but I wonder if Orange Cassidy messes it up for Chuck.

Great stuff with the Don Callis Family through the night. Moxley had a good promo to hype up the main event with Hobbs, but unfortunately, I think the match got cut down because Hobbs actually got hurt. Moxley was of course retaining, but this doesn’t help. Konosuke stepping up is fine, though, a natural move given this BCC VS DCF story going on. Fletcher stepped up to Swerve in the match tonight, but it was also very clear Swerve was going to win.  The Casino Gauntlet wasn’t really named well, and they didn’t really explain it properly before it started, but it was clearly based on William Regal’s Gauntlet Eliminator from NXT a couple years ago.

However, in execution, it was amazing! Great win for Ospreay and a great showing for all the wrestlers involved, Ospreay VS Roddy will be great stuff. But I also really like that they’re not only going with Ospreay being hesitant about Storm Driver, but they’re going with what I was hoping for. Ospreay and Fletcher are likeminded but that means they clash with how Callis wants to do things. This very well could lead to Ospreay & Fletcher VS Konosuke & Hobbs, so long as Hobbs isn’t out of action. Maybe Don Callis Family finds someone else to bring in to make up for that, but also as foreshadowing of Ospreay and Fletcher leaving the group.

I also like that they seem to be heading for another idea I had when it comes to Toni Storm, Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa. Great match from Mina VS Anna with a good win for Mina, but also Anna going Heel on her and Mariah. For that matter, that should mean Mariah and Storm are turning Face to counter, which is fitting since the fans love them so much anyway. Storm defends Mariah, she’ll definitely beat Anna this Saturday, and then we can move into Storm and Mina fighting for Mariah’s affections. And great stuff from the TBS Championship story. Great promos, for one, and then great detail that Kris gets Willow hit. Has it been Kris behind the attacks all along? If Willow somehow retains at Double or Nothing, Kris going after her would be a wild twist.

And of course, incredible stuff out of this story with Jack Perry’s return. Good opening bit as Jack arrives and the EVPs vouch for him, and good little backstage bit to set up the closing segment. I just knew the moment Jack asked for a handshake, he was just setting Tony Khan up. The entire Elite beating TK down was wild but powerful, and this is very much their nWo moment. This combined with Kenny Omega making his return next week, there is something big brewing in a very nWo VS Wolfpac kinda way. Kenny, Hangman & FTR uniting against Okada, Jack & Bucks? Feels like an awesome 8 Man to me.

My Score: 8.8/10
