MY THOUGHTS
I like this episode just on keeping it to 10 matches and 75 minutes. I am thinking, and maybe hoping, episodes stay around this size with AEW planning to make big moves now that they can get on the road in July. With the touring, and eventually Rampage on Fridays, Elevation and Dark might be able to have manageable run times since the load will be lightened. Dynamite will have the best stuff, Rampage will have great stuff on par with the best parts of Elevation, and then Elevation and Dark divide the rest, depending on how AEW ranks everyone.
In fact, that’s how AEW should think to use their win-loss records. There’s been the concept of lower midcard, upper midcard, etc, so the rankings should create tiers. It isn’t meant to belittle a character that’s a bottom tier, but it creates a ladder that someone climbs, going from Dark to Elevation to Rampage to Dynamite, so fans can watch their journey and be a bit more excited about seeing someone they like go from Dark on YouTube to one of the TV programs.
But on to the show itself. Opening with a promo from Santana & Ortiz to put things in perspective was great stuff. The new take on their theme song is great stuff, and their match being second on the night was a great way to fire the fans up. They’re hungry, fired up, and it’s about time that they get to remind us who they are. Jade Cargill was the first match of the night, and of course she squashes her opponent. It was a good way to open, as was Mark Sterling’s promo. I do like that he sets it straight: he isn’t a manager, he is her lawyer, her “representation.” One of these days, she’s going to be a contender to the title, and she might just win it in her first go.
There’s something about Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky being on commentary during the other’s match that makes sense. In a situation where these two are in singles action, and certainly against guys they know they can take, it works for the one not active to put the other over. And I guess “The Men of the Year” is their team name now. The Varsity Blonds had another good promo that is keeping with their football theme. Their match with the Wingmen being the penultimate match tonight is great in itself, as it really shows their stock rising in AEW along with their tag ranking.
Team Taz of course mauls their opponents, and after that display of endless scoop slams, AEW should think to have Will Hobbs be Mr. Scoop Slam City. Brian Cage might want to work on his take of the Murphy’s Law or Made in Japan, whichever he was going for. But it was an interesting detail for Cage to leave the ring last, essentially left behind by Ricky Starks, Hook and Hobbs. It hints that things still aren’t fine in the group. The Dark Order had another good group promo to hype up the TNT Championship match on Friday Night Dynamite, as well as Uno VS Limelight tonight. Uno VS Limelight was of course great stuff, what Elevation is about and what I’m sure Rampage will be about, too.
Max Caster had another great “corporate synergy” rap diss, and The Acclaimed had a great match with Reynolds and Angels. I’ve actually been watching Wipeout on TBS, it’s not on the level of the original from ABC but that’s not Cena’s fault. Even with the Turner family of networks, I don’t think we’ll ever get Caster VS Cena and that’s a bit of a shame. As for the Dark Order, I feel like they let off on the angle of Angels feeling like last place in the team, but maybe with how The Acclaimed won, those feelings come back and that becomes a story within the faction on the way to All Out.
Kris Statlander had a very fun match with Queen Aminata, a lot of great character work on top of the ring work. That extended tilt-o-whirl into Big Bang Theory was a bit risky, though. It looked like Aminata took some real damage to her head and neck, but maybe she was just selling even after the match. Diamante had a good promo to hype her main event match with Shida, but not getting even 10 minutes is a disservice to the fact it was the main event, and between a rising star and the former champion. Either way, Shida gets a good rebound win to stay in the top five.
Also, Shida’s new look isn’t bad, either. Short hair, new ring gear, but the red mesh “hakama” pant leg either needs to be put aside during a match or completely ditched. While a cultural reference, which are always appreciated, it seems a bit superfluous. Second, I feel like it could end up a hazard at some point because (by design) it is baggy and could get snagged.
My Score: 8.5/10

PLAY BY PLAY
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
“Fans here in Indiana, we have a one-on-one face-to-face so volatile, that everyone is going to be barred from ringside. Next week, Winter is Coming, part of Dynamite right here on TBS, for the AEW World title, let’s bring out the champion! Here is Samoa Joe!” Fishers, Indiana is torn as the leader of The Opps makes his way out to the ring. Schiavone then introduces the challenge, Eddie Kingston! The fans are much more united in cheering on The Mad King as he makes his way out, repping the Trash Pandas. Schiavone says, “Once again, everyone else barred from ringside-”
Joe takes the mic from Schiavone! “Schiavone, get outta my ring before I snatch that ugly wig off your head.” The fans boo, but Schiavone does as told. Joe says, “Now, if you’ll excuse me, it seems we have some situations to address. Y’know, Eddie, I bet you are just filled with questions that needed answering. So allow me to answer those questions right off the bat. First, you’re probably wondering why I’m not out here in a three-piece suit, looking like a million dollars.” Eddie says, “Corporate thuggin’, where you at?” Joe says yeah, but it’s for a simple reason. When he got on his private jet and the pilot said they were heading to Indiana, Joe realized it’d be like wearing a tux to a petting zoo.
Let’s face it! The penguins may appreciate it, but these “dumb animals” are far too stupid to realize they’re in the presence of greatness! The fans boo more, but Joe says the second question must be, Why Hook? And why Eddie? See, Hook is a man who has grown with a championship legacy: His father, Taz, was a great champion; his mentor, Joe, the greatest champion in the industry. But this is about education, Eddie, and Joe wanted Hook to have a complete one. So it was important that Hook learned what it was like living on the other side, “eating with the second place people, know how the steak tastes at the third place table.”
Joe couldn’t think of a better candidate to be that guide than Eddie. “A man who has never gotten it done! A man who has never crossed the finish line! A person who walks around, screaming about their potential, but never quite fulfills it.” The fans cheer Eddie on, but Joe chuckles. Joe will ask the third question, the most important one: What’s gonna happen next week? Well, Joe will tell you. Eddie will walk into this ring, he will fight his ass off, he’ll be every bit the lion he claims he is, and bring everything he has to the table in order to capture the greatest championship in this industry. But Eddie, you’re not gonna cross the finish, just like every other time.
The fans boo and Eddie gets worked up. Joe tells Eddie to have the consolation of knowing that it won’t be because of anything Eddie did. No, it will because Joe will choke him unconscious in the middle of this ring. Eddie says he still can’t get over how Samoa Joe, a man who was once held in high regard as a man who saved the indies, who had one of the greatest title runs in ROH, if not THE greatest. A man who went to war with Eddie’s own mentor, Homicide, and he’s talking about jets. Damn, dawg, you sold your soul out hard! And y’know what? Hook was to learn something from Eddie? What he learned was perseverance!
What Hook learned from Eddie was to never give up, even when everyone else tells you to, like Joe. When everybody in the back says, “Yeah, Eddie’s a hot head. Eddie has a point, but why does he yell and scream?” Cuz at least Eddie gets s*it done when he does. The fans cheer that! “So, Joe, stand here right now, Joe. Stand here right now. Because this Samoa Joe, I don’t know. And guess what? I don’t respect. The Joe I know and the Joe that I respect, you ran through everybody, bro. You showed fighting spirit, you showed the whole entire world, the world, what it meant to be a real heavyweight champion!
“But now, but now, que eso? What is this? What is this? Jumping people from behind, using a kid like Hook, getting all up in his head. What, what, you doing what the old school guys used to do? The guys that you used to hate? The guys that you used to call out? It’s funny, now you’re them.” Ooh… Eddie says the thing is, he can end this real quick since the fans want to watch wrestling and Eddie just wants to go back to the hotel and go to bed. So here’s the thing! If Joe doesn’t bring the ROH World Champion, the Submission Machine, if he does not bring the Samoa Joe that made Eddie wanna battle and keep going…
If Joe doesn’t bring back the Joe that beat up Eddie’s mentor for years, Eddie will eat Joe alive on December 10th! Eddie drops the mic and the fans fire up! Winter is Coming, as is one guaranteed slug fest! Will the Mad King finally “live up to his potential?” Or will Joe bring back the man that everyone respected?
The Opps speak.
They’re backstage per the ringside ban, but Hook steps up to say, “Samoa Joe took care of business tonight. Come next week at Winter is Coming, he’ll finish Eddie Kingston off.” Will Hobbs says, “See, we’ve got some business to take care of tonight. But you know, everybody’s gunning for these Trios Championships, so what we’re gonna do is, we’re gonna bless everyone. We’re gonna sprinkle a little holiday cheer around this place. Now last night on ROH, there was one team that impressed us. Dark Order, if you get past us tonight, you get a title shot against Shibata, myself, and Samoa Joe.”
Hook says, “See, Hangman, we know those are real good friends of yours. So we’re gonna have some fun out there with them tonight.” Shibata adds in Japanese that they’ll destroy Dark Order! Hook says that for Shibata the assassin, Hobbs the monster, and “the greatest second generation wrestler of all time,” it’ll be real light work. Is the Dark Order going to be used to send a message to The Cowboy? Or can they find a way to survive The Opps?
2025 Continental Classic Gold League: Kazuchika Okada VS PAC!
In perhaps the most shocking opening round result you’ll ever see, The Rainmaker did NOT start off with a win! He is 0-1 and already up against the wall as he now faces the 1-0 Bastard! Will Pac keep the momentum going? Or will Okada make it rain in Indiana?
The bell rings and the fans fire up already. The two circle, feel things out, and tie up. Okada shifts to a waistlock, Pac switches, but Okada pries free to wrench and wristlock. Pac squats, rolls, and then slips through to wrench and wristlock Okada. Pac then hammerlocks, but Okada drop toeholds. Okada floats to a facelock, but Pac wrenches right out to facelock in return. Don Callis is again on commentary this week to simply brush off Okada’s loss last week by saying the Callis Family is making a group effort in the C2. They still have the statistical advantage in this tournament. Okada fights up and uses his height advantage to put Pac in a corner.
The ref counts, Pac and Okada let go of each other, but then Pac pie faces Okada! The fans fire up while Okada storms back up. The ref has them both stay back until Pac is out of the corner. Then Okada fires a forearm! Pac fires back, they go forearm for forearm, but then Pac DROPKICKS a leg out! Okada goes to a corner, Pac runs up, and he ELBOWS Okada! Pac snapmares Okada, goes up the corner, and he MISSILE DROPKICKS! Okada tumbles, Pac kips up, and Callis admits that is shades of the Dynamite Kid. Pac runs, runs, and runs, but Okada just bails out. The fans cheer the snarky cleverness while Pac frowns.
Pac goes to the ropes, but Okada trips him first! Okada drags Pac out, RAMS him into railing, and the fans rally up. Okada brings Pac around, just to RAM him into railing again! Okada hears the ring count, the fans want that “One More Time!” and Okada drags Pac up. Okada puts Pac in the ring instead of doing what the fans want, then he storms up on Pac in the corner. Okada ELBOWS Pac, the fans cuss out Callis, and Okada ELBOWS Pac again. The ref counts, Okada backs off, and Okada ELBOWS Pac again. Okada brings Pac out, reels him in, and turns him for a NECKBREAKER! Cover, ONE, but Okada stays stoic.
Okada drags Pac up to scoop and SLAM! Okada goes up the corner per the formula, but Pac hurries away. Okada hops down and runs up to CLUB Pac down! Okada brings Pac up to whip, but Pac reverses to snapmare! And then FACE SCRAPE! Okada clutches his mouth but Pac stomps him down! Pac stomps away, soaks up cheers and jeers from Fishers, then stalks Okada while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Pac steps on Okada, digs his boots in, and scrapes his face again! Pac snapmares Okada, digs his knee into Okada’s back while keeping him down with the chinlock. Okada endures, pries at the grip, and he moves around. Pac TOSSES Okada out! Okada lands at Callis’ feet, Pac goes out after him, and Pac whips Okada into barriers! Okada writhes against the hard LED, but Pac digs his boot in! The fans cheer but the ref reprimands so Pac lets off. Pac then whips Okada into more railing! Pac refreshes the ring count before he digs his boots into Okada again. The ref reprimands, Pac steps off, and he drags Okada back up.
Pac puts Okada in the ring, then runs to KNEE DROP! And then he KNEES Okada in the back! Pac pushes Okada down so he can run and KNEE DROP again! Cover, TWO! Pac argues with the ref but Okada is just tougher than that. Pac snarls and drags Okada up. Pac bumps Okada off buckles, eggs the fans on, but Okada ROCKS Pac! And ROCKS him again! And again! Pac snapmares to basement DROPKICK Okada in the back! Pac again eggs on Fishers, and he looms over Okada. Pac cravats for a neck wrench while Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans rally up while Okada fights to his feet, and he throws body shots!
Pac SOBATS! KICKS! And SOBATS! Pac runs to DROPKICK Okada down! Pac goes to the apron, climbs up the corner again, but the fans rally for “O-KA-DA!” Okada rises, turns around, MISSILE- NO, Okada dodges! Pac crash lands, and then Okada SHOTGUNS Pac to the other corner! The fans fire up while both men are down, and now a standing count begins! Pac sputters, Okada turns over, and both men sit up at 5 of 10. They rise to 6, Okada fires forearms! Okada whips, Pac reverses, but Okada ELBOWS Pac down! Then he runs corner to corner to ELBOW Pac! Okada kicks and reels Pac in, DDT! Cover, TWO!
The fans rally as Pac survives, but Okada keeps cool. Okada stands Pac up, scoops him, and SLAMS him! Back to the standard formula as Okada goes up top, MACHO ELBOW! The fans fire up, and Okada winds up, Rainmaker MIDDLE FINGER! Okada drags Pac up, waistlocks, but Pac RAMS him into the corner! Pac fires elbow after elbow, then snarls as he gets space. Pac runs up, but Okada pops him up! Pac grabs ropes, Okada dumps him to the apron! Okada runs up, btu Pac dodges to then BOOT! Pac slingshots, and hits the CUTTER! Pac fires up but the fans are torn. Pac runs, runs, and runs, but Okada DROPKICKS him down!
The fans fire up again and Okada ripcords, RAIN- NO, Pac wheelbarrows to victory roll! TWO!! Okada BOOTS Pac! Pac ends up in a corner, and he BOOTS Okada in return! Pac goes up, leaps over, and SUPERKICKS! Pac hurries to go corner to corner and BOOT again! Pac whips, Okada reverses, but Pac slides to a stop! Okada runs up, Pac dodges, SNAP GERMAN! The fans fire up as Pac then waistlocks to deadlift Okada! Okada fights, but Pac still GERMAN SUPLEXES! Bridging cover, TWO!! Okada survives but Callis gives Pac credit, that’s perhaps the most beautiful German Suplex you’ll see in the business today.
The fans rally as Pac rises and Okada sputters. Pac stands Okada up, but Okada gut wrenches! TOMBSTONE!! But Okada can’t make the cover! The fans rally up again while the standing count returns. Okada goes to the corner, then drags himself up to the top rope! The fans rally as Pac then springs to life! Pac jumps up after Okada, and he SUPER DUPER PLEXES!! The fans lose their minds, but Pac gets moving again! BASTARD BOMBER!! Then the BRUTAL- CRADLE!! OKADA WINS!!
Winner: Kazuchika Okada, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Pac earns 0)
Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, Okada gets points on the board! However, he could still be a step behind the leader. We see Kyle Fletcher VS Kevin Knight later, who comes out of that as Gold League’s 2-0 man?
Mark Briscoe speaks.
“Now roundabout a year ago, Danny Garcia, me and you faced off not once but twice. First in the Continental Classic, and then on Collision for your TNT title. Now, I won one, you won one. But my main takeaway was that Danny Garcia is the real deal. This kid is game! Now, here we are a year later, and my goodness how things have changed. Now I’m the reigning and defending TNT Champion. And Danny, Daniel, my opinion of you is not what it once was. You see, Danny, I’m afraid that maybe you’re falling into a Death Riders death spiral. Y’know, you talk all this noise about how you want the shot. I confront you right to your face, and I tell you, ‘Hey, man, let’s do it!’
“You get in my face, and then you back away. What, are you playing mind games? Is this a Jon Moxley-ism? Well, look, Danny, I don’t play mind games, I don’t play no kinda games. I ain’t duckin’, I ain’t dodgin’, so I went straight to Tony Khan. I said, ‘Tony, let’s make this match. Briscoe, Garcia, for the TNT title.’ He said, ‘Mark, I got just the place and time: Cardiff, Wales, Winter is Coming.’ I said, that sounds perfect! Because I’m comin’, too, baby! And it’s gonna be an international ass whooping!” The Sussex County Chicken is ready to fly across the Atlantic just to tear it up, but will he be the one put on ice?
The Demand speaks.
Ricochet says, “To all my, uh, frequent fliers out there, you already know who this is. It’s AEW’s National Champion himself, Ricochet. And I’m feeling pretty good right now, but it’s funny. Over the past couple of days, I’ve had to keep my phone on Do Not Disturb, because I’ve had promoter after promoter emailing me, texting me, calling me, begging me, to come save their little company, to give their talent an opportunity. Because they know what I’ve known this entire time, that Ricochet is not only a champion, but Ricochet has been a viral sensation in every single company that I have worked for, and you can look it up.
“But despite all of that, what I’m known for best is my charity work. Humanitarianism. So my first piece of charity work will be this Friday, in Columbus, Ohio, where I make my debut in ROH. Actually, it’s against an ex-ROH-Champion himself, Dalton Castle. And Dalton, you and I, we’ve known each other for a long, long, long time, so I hate to be the one to tell you, but this Friday, I will dispose of you with ease, and since Columbus is such a cold, miserable place, I’ve decided, uh, I’m gonna stay an extra day. And on Collision, I plan on doing some more charity work where I give some charity case out there an opportunity at my championship.
“Because The Demand is in more demand than we have ever been. And remember: When you’re in Demand, you can make demands.” Kaun adds, “And if you don’t follow demands…” Liona shouts, “You get put DOWN!” AHA~! Feels good, that feels real good. But will The One & Only stay the first-ever AEW National Champion with taking on The Peacock and then potentially a wild card opponent? Or will his holidays already be ruined before Winter even arrives?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Renee Paquette is with Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, The Babes of Wrath, and even Roderick Strong, as she says we are in the midst of the Continental Classic. And with that, this Saturday will give us a great match-up as Blue League pits Cassidy against Roddy. How will this one possibly go for The Conglomeration? Briscoe says he doesn’t mean to cut her off, but it would be an accurate observation to say that The Conglomeration has not started off The C2 with an abundance of success. That is why it is a good thing that the Word of the Day is: Retributification! So Saturday, Roderick Strong VS Orange Cassidy, someone’s gotta win!
Cassidy says yeah, up top, Roddy. Roddy says no, stop it! First off, he is NOT in the Conglomeration! Got that? Second, he beats Cassidy’s ass this Saturday to go on and win The Continental Classic? Got that? Cassidy asks Briscoe to explain the Conglomeration Rules for the match. Right, well, Cassidy had an idea for the match: No chops. Roddy says Cassidy’s an idiot, and he’s gonna break Cassidy’s back. Roddy pushes past Cassidy, Briscoe wants him to cool down and consider it, and the Babes head out. Cassidy says Roddy must not have seen him standing right here. But will Roddy make sure nothing and no one stops him from breaking through the C2?
BREAKING NEWS on Darby Allin!
Speaking of the Continental Classic, it was a battle in the opening round between The Relentless One and Kevin Knight, but it would appear Darby was far more banged up than he let on. It was as a precaution that Darby be taken to the hospital for observation, he was not cleared to travel, let alone compete, here tonight. AEW hopes to have a clearer picture by this Saturday, will Darby still be able to keep up the fight? Or does even he have a limit to what damage he can take?
2025 Continental Classic Gold League: Kyle Fletcher VS Kevin Knight!
As mentioned already, both these men won big in their opening round matches, so they both stand at 1-0 with 3 points. Okada finally got himself some points to catch up to The Protostar, but will Fletcher just take another step forward? Or will The Jet be leaving them both in the dust as he starts to take off?
The bell rings and the fans fire up as the two circle. They tie up, Kyle’s height helping him, but Knight digs his heels in. They go around, Kyle puts Knight on the ropes, but Knight turns that around. The ref counts, Knight lets off and pats Kyle on the shoulders. Callis admits, he likes Knight, because just look at him! A stud of an athlete. Kyle shrugs things off as he circles with Knight. They tie up again, go around and around, and Kyle hits a headlock takeover. Knight fights, keeps his shoulder up, and then rolls to a cover, ONE! Kyle grinds the hold, Knight headscissors, and Knight squeezes tight. Kyle rolls, pops free, and floats back to the headlock!
The fans rally, but Knight fights up to his feet. Knight powers free to waistlock but Kyle switches. Kyle SLAMS Knight down, then BOOTS him right in the face! Kyle flexes, the fans are torn, but Knight frowns. Kyle mocks Kevin with clapping, and Knight says okay, if that’s how he wants to play… They circle, tie up, and Knight waistlocks. Kyle fights the lift, and the next lift, so Knight trips Kyle, then walks all over him! Knight poses, the fans cheer, but Kyle is annoyed. Kyle runs up, Knight ducks the lariat, then he drops down, hurdles over, and HIP- No, Kyle counters with his own HIP TOSS, but Knight handsprings through!
Knight runs up, Kyle stops the arm-drag, but Knight turns the counter into an arm-drag after all! The fans fire up and Knight arm-drags again! Kyle avoids the dropkick, but Knight taunts him now. The fans fire up, but then they boo as Kyle bails out. Knight says the clock is ticking, and the ring count starts. Kyle takes his time as he steps back up to the apron. Kyle steps inside, then he kicks Knight low! Kyle CLUBS Knight, CHOPS Knight, then whips Knight to ropes. Knight goes up and over, keeps moving, and he LARIATS Kyle up and out! The fans fire up as Knight PLANCHAS, but Kyle slides inside to dodge! Kyle then runs up and CALF KICKS Knight down!
The fans rally as Kyle goes out and reels Knight in. POWER- NO, Knight pops free, then goes up the apron to FLYING LARIAT! The fans fire up with Knight while Kyle sputters. Knight slides into the ring, takes aim again, and he springboards to SUPER FLYING LARIAT! The fans fire up again, and Callis is shocked, while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Knight drags Kyle up, puts him in the ring, and aims from the apron. Knight springboards, Kyle gets under, and he comes back with an ELBOW! An almost Hidden Blade like elbow at that, and Kyle rains down fists! The ref reprimands and counts, no closed fists! Kyle stops to huff ‘n’ puff and storm around while Knight sputters. Kyle stands on the corner and flexes, soaking up cheers and jeers. Kyle storms back to Knight but Knight CHOPS! Knight shakes out his own hand, but then Kyle scoops and SLAMS him down! Kyle paces around while Knight writhes, and Kyle mocks the fans dueling between them.
Kyle lines up a shot, runs in at the corner, forearm SMASH! Then a wrenches and lift, BIG back suplex! Cover, TWO! Kyle sighs, but then he JUMP STOMPS! Kyle clamps onto Knight, Knight endures, and Knight rises up. Dynamite returns to single picture as Knight fires body shots. Knight is free and runs, but into a scoop! But Knight makes it a cradle! TWO! Kyle escapes and BOOTS Knight! Kyle runs, but Knight DROPKICKS! The fans fire up while both men are down again! “This is Awesome!” while the standing count climbs. Knight rises, Kyle is on the ropes, and Kyle storms upon Knight first! Knight fires haymakers, then blocks to fire more!
The fans rally as Knight gets the edge! Knight whips, then LARIATS Kyle in the corner! A whip corner to corner, and another LARIAT! Knight runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, then LEAPING LARIATS! The fans fire up while both men are down again! Knight shakes out his bad arm, and he kips up! The fans cheer, Knight runs up, but Kyle BOOTS him! Kyle goes up, but into the UPPER ROOM! Knight drags himself back up, runs up, SATELLITE DDT! Callis admits, that was perfect! Cover, TWO!! Kyle survives but Knight will not be deterred! The fans fire up as Knight goes to the apron, but Kyle runs up! Knight RAMS low, then slingshots up and over, sunset flip! TWO!
Kyle is up again, but now Knight BOOTS him! Knight whips, Kyle reverses, and he catches Knight as he goes up and over! LAWN DART! The fans fire up while Knight sputters in the corner. Kyle rolls away to the other side, and he runs corner to corner for the GAMANGIRI! Then he reels Knight in, but Knight knees free! Knight runs up, but Kyle puts him on the apron! Kyle runs, but into the SPRINGBOARD LARIAT! Cover, TWO!! Kyle survives and the fans are thunderous! “This is Awesome!” as both men go to the apron. Knight brings Kyle up, but Kyle SUPERKICKS first! Kyle runs up, but into an APRON SATELLITE DDT!!
The fans are losing their minds again as Knight shoves Kyle back in! Knight hurries to the corner and he climbs up top! The fans already give a standing ovation, but Kyle trips Knight up! The fans boo but Kyle climbs the corner. Kyle lifts Knight, but Knight slips free of the suplex! And he shoves Kyle onto his Aussie Arrow! Then pulls him into the Tree of Woe! Knight stomps a mudhole in, then he goes to the other corner! The fans fire up again as The Jet goes COAST2COAST!! The fans are thunderous, Knight hurries back up top, MOTHERSHIP SPLASH, ONTO KNEES!! Cover, TWO?!?! But Kyle hurries to lift and LAST RIDE!!! Cover, TWO!?!?
The fans are going nuts as that was NOT the last ride! Kyle suplexes, Knight cradles again, TWO!! Knight dodges a lariat, leaps, but into a SUPERKICK! And GAMANGIRI int he corner! Then the suplex and BRAINBUSTER!! Cover, Kyle wins!!
Winner: Kyle Fletcher, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Knight earns 0)
And it is another incredible victory to make Kyle Fletcher 2-0 with 6 points! Callis grabs the mic to say, “I have something very important to say!” The fans boo that, but Callis says, “And you’re gonna wanna hear it, because it’s about The Young Bucks! But now, I’m gonna let you hear from the greatest wrestler I’ve ever seen, Kyle Fletcher! How you feelin’, big boy?” Callis hands the mic to Kyle while Josh Alexander & Hechicero bring those duffel bags of money out. Kyle says, “Not great, Don, I’ll be completely honest. Is that for me? You bringing that for me? I’ll take that.” Kyle stands to look at the money, and Callis says the fans are gonna hear every last sentence!
The fans boo more but just what is Callis going to say to and about Matt & Nick Jackson? We find out, after the break.
Dynamite returns and Callis is still berating the fans in Fishers.
“You’re very lucky that he even comes to this town! And now, I would like to discuss what happened last week with The Young Bucks! Y’know, Bucks, I could forgive a lot. You can lie to me, I could forgive that. You can cheat me, I could forgive that. You can KILL someone! I have forgiven that before. But the one thing that is an unforgivable sin is siding with Kenny Omega!” The fans cheer, but Callis tells The Bucks that he has something to add. “I have your money, Young Bucks! And I know that Kenny’s not gonna finance you. So if you don’t like it, I suggest, for the first time in your godforsaken lives, let your nuts drop, try to be men, and get in here and take it!”
The fans boo but here come Matt & Nick! The fans cheer and Kyle dares them to come get it. So they rush the ring! The Bucks dodge Kyle, DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS on Alexander & Hechi! Then they get Kyle with a B T E TRIGGER!! That was easier than they thought! They snatch up the bag, taunt Callis with it, but then in slides Okada! RAINMAKER on Matt!! Nick asks what the heck, man! Okada flips Nick off! Then he blocks Nick’s kick, and Alexander CHOP BLOCKS! Hechi gets back in, the Callis Family mugs The Bucks 3v2! The fans rally for “KENNY! KENNY!” But instead, we get Jurassic Express!
Jack Perry & Luchasaurus rush the ring, they DROPKICK Alexander and SMACK Okada! Luchasaurus TOSSES Hechi, Jack gets a boost! ARIHARA MOONSAULT! Down go Hechi & Alexander! Luchasaurus storms up on Okada, but Okada LOW BLOWS him! The fans boo but now Jack and Okada stare down. Okada flips Jack off, but Jack BITES that finger! The fans cheer, but now Mark Davis & CLØN rush the ring! They mug Perry, then they get Matt & Nick back in the ring. Davis CHOKES Matt, Okada throws down fists on Nick, and Callis gets his own shots in! Nick is made to watch as Callis HAMMERS Matt’s head!
Callis throws off his jacket, rolls up his sleeves, and wets his finger? Then he DIGS into Nick’s eyes!! But here comes Kenny!! The Cleaner has seen enough, and he fires off on Davis! Then on Alexander! Then back to Davis, only for Davis to fireman’s carry! Omega slips free, and V-TRIGGERS! But then Okada has Omega! RAIN- NO, Omega ducks to SNAP DRAGON!! The fans fire up as Omega then takes aim at Okada, only for Okada to bail! The Elite regroups while the Callis Family retreats, when and where will they settle the score?
The Babes of Wrath speak.
Harley Cameron remembers back to when Willow Nightingale was her second-ever opponent. She remembers then that Willow was kind and sweet and strong. She also beat the snot out of her, so being friends and teammates today still blows Harley’s mind. Willow says they’ve both already been through so much. 8 Woman Tags, Fatal 4 Ways, Tailgate Brawls, and even Blood & Guts! It is a joy teaming together with the same kind of crazy. Not a lot of people believed they could get this far, but that didn’t matter because they believed in themselves. They’re done relying on surprises or upsets. They are ready to be THE first-ever AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions!
So it doesn’t matter who is standing across the ring from them, they’re coming in ready. Who are they? The Babes! What do they have? The Wrath! BABES OF WRATH! BABES OF WRATH!! But then, who will feel the wrath in the tournament finals? We’re about to find out!
AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinals, Hardcore Holiday Deathmatch: Timeless Love Bombs VS #MegaProblem!
Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa won the Full Gear Fatal 4 Way Tag and earned the right to add a stipulation to this tournament match. They wanted revenge for the brutality seen in Blood & Guts, so they chose a match that would do away with tagging in and out, do away with disqualifications and count-outs, and that could only be one by pinfalls, submissions, or knockouts! Will Toni & Mina prove they are indeed knockouts? Or will Megan Bayne & Marina Shafir make them #BowDown?
Toni already wraps her fist in that pearl necklace of hers, and she goes right up to ROCK Marina! The bell rings, the fans fire up, and the brawl is on! But Marina turns things around with KNEES while Megan fires off forearms on Mina! The fans rally, Marina and Megan double whip, but Toni & Mina hit STEREO THEZS PRESSES! They rain down fast hands, then keep after the #MegaProblems with STEREO DDTS! Megan & Marina bail out, Toni & Mina go to the apron! TORNADO DDT to the floor for Marina, followed by a TORNADO DDT for Megan!
The fans fire up and Toni brings out… A champagne bottle?! She SMASHSE it on Marina’s head! Then she stomps Marina down, and she wants to use the sharp shard! She DIGS it into Megan’s forehead!! The fans go nuts, and then Mina brings out a giant candy cane! Mina uses it to SMACK Megan down low! And then she puts Megan in the ring, only for Megan to throw hands! Megan whips, Mina CANDY CANE SLINGBLADES! The fans fire up again, and she CLUBS away on Megan! Then she hooks Megan in the mouth! On closer inspection, there’s BARBED WIRE on the candy cane kendo stick!! That’s gotta really sting!
Mina calls to Toni, and Toni basement DROPKICKS Megan! The fans fire up with the Love Bombs, and we see Marina is busted open! Toni scoops Mina to YOYO SPLASH her on Megan! Kendo stick included! Mina snarls and gets the candy cane outta the way. The Love Bombs drag the Megasus up, but she blocks the suplex! Megan DOUBLE SUPLEXES the Love Bombs! Not the cleanest, but damage done! Megan puts Toni on the ropes, Marina storms in, and she TIGER FEINT SPIKES Toni! Megan hauls Mina up, and she THROWS Mina out onto Toni! The fans are torn but Marina smiles while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Marina goes looking under the ring, Megan helps out, and they go to the table. They dump off the gifts to take the table itself. The Love Bombs regroup while said table is put in the ring. Marina starts setting the table while Megan DECK SToni! And SMACKS her with that kendo stick! Megan SMACKS Mina, too! The Love Bombs writhe, Marina RAMS Toni into railing, and she puts Toni in. Then Marina drags Mina up, puts her in the ring, and Megan aims for the table. Toni slips free but Marina KICKS her down! Megan CLUBS Toni, then she goes out to fetch the present on the other table. The shape is rather suspicious…
Megan says it’s for her, what could it be? Well, Marina got herself a frying pan, and then surprise! Megan unwraps a golden chair! And she throws it to Toni, so she can SHOTGUN it into her! Dynamite returns to single picture as the Love Bombs are put through the ropes. Marina SMACKS Mina in the stomach with the frying pan while Megan CLUBS Toni in the chest! And again, and again, and again! The Mega Problems go all the way to TEN, then they flip off the fans. The fans boo, but Megan has her chair! And she SMACKS Toni on the back! Marina SPANKS Toni with the pan! SMACK with the chair! SPANK with the pan!
But Mina climbs! Toni ducks the double shot, chair and frying pan collide! Marina is disarmed, Mina MISSILE DROPKICKS the chair into Megan’s face! The fans fire up and Toni drags Megan to the apron! Marina BOOTS Mina down, but Toni gives Megan a STORM ZERO through the outside table!! The fans lose their minds, but Marina says screw it, she’s going to wrap this up. SAYANAGI on Mina, into MOTHER’S MILK!! Mina endures, fights the hold, but Toni is able to slide a piece of a cue stick to Mina! Mina grabs hold, and she DIGS it into Marina’s face!! Mina goes after Marina with the sharp wood!! Mina then jackknife bridges, TWO!!
Mina URAKENS Marina! Marina tumbles, Mina fires up, and Toni stands with her. Toni gives Mina the boost to go up, up, and SUPER DUPER CROSSBODY! Down goes Marina! The fans fire up as Mina puts Marina back in! Toni finds that golden chair, brings it around, and Mina climbs up! FLYING SLINGBLADE into the chair!! Cover, MEGAN CLOBBERS TONI ONTO IT! Megan still lives, but Mina brings Marina up. Mina aims for the table, Marina fights the suplex, and Marina snap suplexes Mina first! Then Megan SPEARS Mina down through the other table!! But Toni waistlocks Megan! Marina SMACKS Toni with the chair!
Megan and Marina coordinate, they get Toni up for the FATE’S- NO, Toni slips free, and she STORM ZEROS Megan onto Marina! Megan tumbles out, Marina writhes, and SANTA IS HERE?! The fans go wild for Santa Claus, and he says he has a gift for Marina. Marina says fine, give it here! She snatches the box away, but it’s just a MIDDLE FINGER! That’s not Santa, that’s LUTHER! And Toni GERMAN SUPLEXES Marina onto tacks??! And then THE SHOE~! And the BIG PACKAGE! LOVE BOMBS WIN!!
Winners: The Timeless Love Bombs, by pinfall (advance to the finals)
They raised the stakes and they won the gable, Toni & Mina are moving on to the championship match! But will the inaugural champions be TIMELESS? Or will they #FeelTheWrath as Winter is Coming?
AEW hears from The Triangle of Madness and their nemeses.
Julia Hart calls out Jamie Hayter. “What’d you not learn from Blood & Guts?” Thekla tells Kris Statlander, “You sure do a lot of sticking your alien ass into the Triangle’s business. Why do you call yourself ‘Big Stat Daddy’ when you really just a little baby b*tch?” But Kris says says she has never heard someone talk so much like a champ without actually being one. But hey, fake it ’til you make it, right? So just name the time, the place, the date, the state, and she will not hesitate to make you call her Daddy! Jamie says wow! Now, while Jamie and Kris might not be friends, they have enemies in common.
So how about this? Cardiff Collision, there’s not much else to do in Cardiff except beat people up, so it will be them doing that to Skye & Julia. Kris likes that idea. And then after that, Kris and Jamie can… have a little chat. About what? Oh, right. But can Stat & Hayter Hit Hard enough to break the Triangle of Madness? Or will the Sisters of Sin drag them down into the abyss?
The Dark Order walks ‘n’ talks.
Evil Uno says, “Finally it happens! A moment years in the making. Dark Order is back on Dynamite and we have an opportunity like none other. If we win tonight, we get a chance at the AEW Trios Championships. We have been-” But then Alex Reynolds notices Hangman Page storming past and stops him. Reynolds tells The Cowboy, “Look, I know you’re lookin’ for blood, but whatever you do, don’t ruin this for us.” Hangman says, “Fine. I owe you that, at least. But the second this match is over, they are mine.” Hangman heads out, Uno says ignore that and let’s get ’em! Will Uno, Silver & Reynolds finally turn things around? Or will they see The Opps are #NeverLacking?
Backstage interview with Mercedes Mone.
Renee is now with The CEO, “Thirteen Belts Mone,” #UltimoMone, and namely the Undisputed ROH Women’s World Television Champion. Renee notes that we have not seen Mone since Full Gear when she was unsuccessful in her match against- Mone stops Renee there, then takes a breath. And another. Mone says, “I am a global icon. Thirteen Belts Ultimo Mone. PWI’s number one wrestler of the year. Does that sound UNSUCCESSFUL to you?!” Renee says no, it does not, sorry. But this Friday, she defends the ROH Women’s TV title against Red Velvet- “Who I’ve already beaten,” Mone points out.
Mone says if TK wants Mone to beat Velvet again, she’ll gladly do it. “Red, you wanna talk a lot of talk on ROH and Collision, when you know I’m not there. But here I am on Dynamite, where I am every single week, and where are you? Home? Hiding? Still crying about this title that I took from you? HAHAHAHA! Well, Red, since you said I am a fighting champion, I’ll give you another chance to fall off the Money Train again. And since you wanna say I never show up to ROH, you can watch me this week on Honor Club to get a little preview of Final Battle. Because, Red, there’s a price to pay when you talk down on Mone.”
The CEO smiles as she holds up the ROH Women’s TV title, but will Mone’s first week on ROH TV also be her last?
FTR speaks.
Stokely Hathaway says, “Tonight is the greatest night of my life. Why? Because FTR are the AEW World Tag Team Champions. But I need to address what happened last Saturday on Collision. The greatest tag team of all time were having a celebration, but they were interrupted by Austin Gunn & Juice Robinson. But the worst part about it all is they said they wanted to be champions for Colten Gunn & Jay White. So, lemme get this straight. Instead of wanting to be champions for AEW, instead of wanting to cement your legacy, instead of wanting to inspire a whole generation of tag team wrestlers… You wanna be champions to pop the boys on the injured list? How pathetic!”
Cash Wheeler tells Austin & Juice, “You talk about how you were the last team to beat FTR, but make no mistake, that is the last time you’ll beat FTR. When it matters, you will not get the job done. Austin, who was it that ended your AEW World Tag Team title reign? I don’t remember. Oh, wait, it was us. And Juice, you don’t care if it takes an hour? 15 minutes in, you couldn’t get the job done, #AndStill. When it comes down to it, you are always gonna be Billy’s Boy & Mr. Storm.” Dax Harwood asks if Juice has anything been more than a walk-behinder. Dax has known Juice’s whole career, and all he’s ever been is the bag carrier.
And now, Juice is the leader of the group, power has gone to his head, and he decided that he’s just as good as the big dogs, the world tag team champions. Good luck with that. And Austin, how great that he has this nice, cushy job thanks to your daddy. You’ll have a job forever, this is a paycheck for you. But for Dax, this is his life! 21 years in, and this title is his life! And Austin went and put his hand on Dax’s life? Saturday night, FTR will be live on Collision, and they dare Bang Bang Gang to do that one more time. #TopGuysOut.

Backstage interview with The Don Callis Family.
Specifically, Renee is with Okada, Fletcher and The Jackal himself. She asks if it is safe to assume that The Bucks will not be joining The Family any time soon? Callis says he is tired of answering negative questions. Why is she so negative all the time? Okada says what happened out there was all Takeshita’s fault. He let them down again! Callis says sorry, but no, Takeshita is busy with training for his own Continental Classic match this Saturday on Collision. But then Takeshita appears! And The Alpha says, “Actually, Don… I’m right here.” Callis & Kyle step in between Okada and Takeshita to keep things civil.
Callis says he is very confident that with these three studs, the Continental Championship will come back to the Don Callis Family. Renee asks that if he is so confident, why is he not putting both parts of the Unified Championship as the prize? Callis says he’ll make this as simple as he can for her and the fans, as there are a lot of uneducated blondes who don’t understand basic things. At All In, Okada went in as Continental Champion, he defeated Kenny Omega in one of the greatest days in Callis’ life. That meant Okada became International Champion. Now, to some people, these are big concepts that they can’t understand.
As such, The Callis Family have created a symbol which is the Unified Championship, representing the two legs, aka the International and the Continental. Is that easy to understand? Yes, but that doesn’t really answer the question. Why not put both legs in? Callis says because HE is not an idiot, he doesn’t do things to be charitable, he doesn’t make risky bets. Why put the International Championship on the line for anything unless they had to? That’s what degenerate gamblers like Nick Jackson do! Kyle says regardless, with Kyle at 6 points, Takeshita on 3 and Okada on 3, the Callis Family is guaranteed to bring home the Continental Championship at the end.
Callis says he feels good hearing those words. Kyle also promises that the International Championship is not going anywhere. It is staying right here. Love it! But will the family really stay dominant through the rest of the C2? Or could someone really ruin those plans for them?
Hangman Page speaks.
The Cowboy paces around, then shouts, “For THREE year, for three years, I’ve fought to get back to the world championship. I gave three years of my life, of my sweat, of my blood, to get to that championship. I fought Ospreay, I fought Fletcher, I fought everyone on this damn roster to get it, and the person who cost me the world championship is Hook! Is HOOK! Joe, for you, for you, Full Gear was The Opps’ crowning moment. But for me, it was but a bump in the road, Joe, because whether it’s from you or from Eddie, I will take that championship back. It will be mine.
“And Hobbs, Shibata, if you want to fight, then you have got one. Next week, Atlanta, Georgia, Winter is Coming. Hobbs & Shibata, I will not be alone. You know who is coming for you. Get your affairs in order.” Does that mean what it sounds like?! Will Hobbs & Shibata have a shootout with The Cowboy and The Most Dangerous Man in AEW?
2025 Continental Classic Blue League: Jon Moxley VS Claudio Castagnoli!
For the first time in their AEW careers, we see The Maniac and the Swiss Cyborg battle it out 1v1, and for a very crucial second round win in the C2. It is Death Rider VS Death Rider and iron sharpens iron, but who will be left standing at the top of the block?
The bell rings, the fans are losing their minds already, and the two circle. They feel things out, Claudio shoots in for a leg, then a facelock, but Moxley fights the suplex. Moxley waistlocks, then he clinches, but Claudio powers him down to the mat. Claudio goes for the arm, Moxley fights it off, and the ref only now realizes Marina Shafir is lingering ringside. He orders her to leave per the Continental Rules, and she obliges. Claudio puts Moxley in the corner, the ref counts, but both men take their time letting go. The fans rally as the two circle again. They knuckle lock, they go shoulder to shoulder in a Test of Strength, and the fans rally for “BALD! BALD! BALD!”
Claudio powers Moxley to the mat, cover, ONE as Moxley gets the arm up. Claudio pushes it down, ONE as Moxley gets the other arm up. Claudio pushes the arm back down, ONE as Moxley bridges! Moxley fights and turns, but Claudio DOUBLE STOMPS him down! The fans are torn, but Claudio stands Moxley up to UPPERCUT! Claudio stalks Moxley to the corner, UPPERCUTS again, and stalks Moxley to another corner. Claudio CHOPS, whips, and runs up, but into a BOOT! Moxley gets in Claudio’s face to egg him on, then pie faces so he can CHOP! Moxley fires forearms and CHOPS on repeat!
Claudio scowls but Moxley CLAWS Claudio’s back! Moxley puts Claudio in a corner, then climbs up to rain down fists! The fans count along, Moxley goes past TEN, then CLAWS Claudio’s eyes after about 13! The ref counts, Moxley hops down, and he wrenches to wristlock. Moxley SNAPS the fingers! Claudio still scoops to BACKBREAKER! Moxley bails out, Claudio pursues, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Claudio RAMS Moxley into steel steps! Moxley falls in a heap, clutches his shoulder, but Claudio brings the steel steps around. Claudio stands them up on their side, then has Moxley by the legs! Claudio SWINGS Moxley into the steel steps! Moxley is down in a daze while the ref reprimands Claudio. Claudio rolls into the ring to wait on Moxley. Moxley drags himself to the railing while the ring count climbs, but Claudio goes back out after him. Moxley pokes Claudio in the eyes! The ref reprimands Moxley now but he ROCKS and CHOPS Claudio on repeat! Moxley whips, Claudio reverses, and Moxley hits barriers hard! He even tumbles up and over them!
The fans cheer as Moxley is down in the front row. Claudio hops the barriers to haul Moxley up, and RAM him into the barriers again! Then he UPPERCUTS Moxley! Moxley flops back over the barriers, and we see he is busted open from the collision with the steps. Claudio pursues Moxley, puts him in the ring, and storms in after him. Claudio runs to BOOT Moxley! Moxley flounders to ropes, Claudio bumps him off buckles, and bumps him off more buckles! Moxley staggers around, Claudio GRINDS Moxley’s face against the ropes, then headlock punches! Moxley fires a forearm, Claudio fires back, and repeat!
Dynamite returns to single picture once more as the forearms keep going! The fans rally, duel, and fire up as the shots keep going! Moxley HEADBUTTS Claudio again and again! A little double edged, but Moxley runs, only for Claudio to catch the shotgun dropkick! And now GIANT SWING! The fans fire up as Moxley goes around and around and around, and Claudio stops at eight to step through the legs! SHARPSHOOTER! Moxley endures, blood pouring out, and Claudio sits deep on the hold! Moxley fights, claws at the mat, and reaches out. But Claudio turns around to shift into a CROSSFACE! And he rolls Moxley from the ropes!
Moxley endures, even with the hands in his face! The fans rally and duel as Moxley fights to a cover, TWO! Claudio lets go, but now Moxley has him! BULLY CHOKE! Claudio fights up, Moxley shifts sides, and he becomes a backpack! Claudio swings Moxley off of him, only for Moxley to ROCK Claudio! Claudio fires back, the shots go back and forth again! The fans fire up as this gets fast ‘n’ furious! Moxley JABS, BODY SHOTS, and FOREARMS! But Claudio ducks a shot to UPPERCUT! Moxley staggers back, Claudio runs up, but Moxley DUMPS him out! Then he DIVES! Claudio is sent into the desk!
The fans fire up again and Moxley rises up. The fans hope these two “Fight Forever!” but first off, C2 matches have 20 minute time limits, it’d be a draw if this went forever! Moxley hurries after Claudio, puts him in the ring, and he runs up, but into an UPPER- NO, Moxley makes it a backslide! TWO, CUTTER!! Claudio staggers up, and he LARIATS in return! Both men are down and the fans cheer on “A E DUB! A E DUB!” We get the 10 minute notice, we’re halfway through that aforementioned time limit. The two men rise up with the standing count, and they’re up at 5 of 10. Claudio reels Moxley in, Gotch Lift, but Moxley fights the lift!
Moxley pushes on the legs, slips around, and he has the SLEEPER! The fans rally, Claudio endures, but Moxley spins Claudio to try the Gotch Lift! Claudio BACKDROPS, Moxley sunset flips it! TWO, and Claudio has the legs again! But Moxley bridges up to drag Claudio down to a cover! TWO!! Claudio escapes, both men stagger up, and Claudio UPPERCUTS in the corner! Claudio throws off the elbow pad and runs, but into a POLISH HAMMER! Then LARIAT!! Both men are down again and the fans fire up! Moxley huffs ‘n’ puffs as he rises up again, and he watches Claudio. The fans rally, both men stand, and Moxley runs! CURB- NO, Claudio dodges!
Moxley comes back, CURB STOMP after al!! Cover, TWO!! Claudio survives, but Moxley is right on him! REAR NAKED CHOKE!! Claudio endures, fights around, but Moxley shifts to a facelock. Claudio still rises, and he lifts Moxley to DUMP him out of the ring! The fans fire up and Claudio rolls outside. Claudio runs up to UPPERCUT Moxley into the railing! Moxley staggers all the way to the far side, so Claudio just runs in again! DOUBLE STOMPS on Moxley against the chair!! The fans fire up as Claudio stands Moxley up against the steps. Claudio UPPERCUTS again and again, then gets space. Claudio runs in and UPPERCUTS Moxley against the steps!
Claudio puts Moxley back in the ring, then hurries to run and LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Moxley survives, but Claudio reels him right in! Claudio tucks the arms, RICOLA~ BOMB!! Cover, TWO!!! Shot for shot, then Moxley CLAWS the eyes! Moxley runs, but into the POP-UP- NO! Moxley CLAWS eyes again! But Claudio still ROCKS Moxley! Moxley kicks low, PARADIGM SHIFT!! But Moxley can’t make the cover, he’s too beat up!
The fans rally up while Moxley and Claudio go to corners. Moxley and Claudio stare each other down, then they rise up. The five minute warning, and UPPERCUT!!! Cover, CLAUDIO WINS!!!
Winner: Claudio Castagnoli, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Moxley earns 0)
It was a brutal 15 minutes, and then it all ends in the blink of an eye! The Swiss Cyborg, the Emissary of Violence, just beat the former AEW World Champion and the Death Riders’ leader! The other Death Riders arrive to celebrate and support both men, but it is now Claudio leading the way in Blue League! But now both men have to turn right around for their third C2 matches! Claudio VS Mascara Dorada, Moxley VS Konosuke Takeshita, will the Death Riders continue to dominate the block?
My Thoughts:
An awesome Dynamite here as like the one non-themed episode between all the holiday episodes. Great promo segment from Joe and Eddie to open things, and Eddie got to verbally serve Joe because in the end, Joe’s gonna win at Winter is Coming. And I found it a bit funny that Eddie said he was wrapping things so we could get to wrestling, and then Opps had to talk for themselves. But naturally, they had a match and used The Dark Order to stick it to Hangman. Great stuff with Hangman going after The Opps, scaring them off and all that, and then great promo afterward to set up what is clearly Shibata & Hobbs VS Hangman & Swerve. That will be awesome stuff, really.
But with the sudden news of the convoluted route to a title match at Maximum Carnage, you can bet Hangman and Swerve each get in the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal for Holiday Bash. Then it could easily be Hangman VS Swerve for Dynamite on 34th Street, and the winner of that faces Joe for the title. And even with the 40+ day road map set out, I bet Joe still wins at Maximum Carnage. With that, maybe it is Swerve VS Joe in Arizona, then we get Hangman VS Joe: The Final Round after that. Maybe. I don’t remember if there are PPVs in January, but a PPV feels like the only place Joe would lose the title.
Very good promo from Triangle of Madness and good response from Hayter and Statlander. They’ll have a really good tag match, and I feel like Thekla gets involved. It probably won’t be a straight up Kris VS Hayter, we might get a Triple Threat of Kris VS Hayter VS Thekla at World’s End or something. Very good promo from Harley & Willow to not only give us perspective on their friendship, but also hype up the tag tournament. Awesome “Hardcore Holiday Death Match” tonight, they took holiday theming to a very creative place, especially with Luther Claus showing up. We could’ve had one less false finish, and then I was actually a little surprised Toni & Mina won. But now we get Faces VS Faces, the tag title match will be awesome now.
Very good promo from Mark Briscoe on his own, he was Serious Mark here, and that was good stuff for calling out Daniel Garcia. Not sure we also then needed a Conglomeration group promo where he was Happy Mark again, but it was still a good promo to help hype up Cassidy VS Roddy for Collision. And them making a point of Darby being in the hospital, hopefully that isn’t a real injury, let alone a serious one, but it is understandable why we’re getting some staggered schedules in the tournament now since we won’t get Darby’s match with Mike Bailey and they gotta use who they have.
And of course, awesome stuff with the Continental Classic, as well as using it to help along other stories. Obviously the Conglomeration dysfunction is one, but there is also the Don Callis Family’s feud with the new new new Elite, and even their own dysfunction from Okada and Takeshita. Okada VS Pac was awesome, great quick pin win for Okada. Then Fletcher VS Knight managed to outdo Okada VS Pac, and a great win for Fletcher to keep winning. I believe I said this last week, but it is odd timing that The Elite and DCF can seemingly set up a 5v5 but Blood & Guts is past. Moxley VS Claudio was an awesome main event, really pushing that overrun, but awesome win for Claudio. This can even further add to the doubts in Moxley’s leadership skills, and the eventual mutiny by the crew.
My Score: 9/10
