AEW is still saying good-bye to Daily’s Place with Elevation!

Before heading back on the road, AEW elevates Daily’s Place one more time with a high-speed main event! Will Dante Martin reach new heights tonight?

MY THOUGHTS

Only six matches and only 44 minutes? This I can get behind, but I can’t make any promises on getting back to a full Play By Play for these. They’re on free YouTube along with Dark classic, and there were still plenty of matches where it’s clear who is winning, is it really crucial?

Thunder Rosa starting is fine, she’s a good hook for people to watch. She makes fairly quick work of Grey and keeps in the top three of the rankings, definitely poised for an All Out match with Britt Baker, quite possibly for the title. I recognize Marcus Kross from ROH and the Top Prospect Tournament a few years ago and then the months after. He didn’t and probably couldn’t go full Dragonball Z in his gear, but he gets a strong showing against Scorpio. Scorpio of course wins because he and Ethan Page are still feuding with Sting and Darby Allin, and I am still thinking Scorpio should get a 1v1 with Sting to parallel Ethan and Darby having their 1v1.

Shida VS Jordyn was very good. Shida wins but Dani got a really good showing and did have a clever diss in her Burn Book, “Shida No Belts.” The straitjacket German suplex could’ve been cleaner but otherwise, very good. Angelico VS Cassidy was one that, on paper, could’ve gone either way because Evans was in Angelico’s corner and the Hardy Family Office wants to stay strong against their various enemies. It was a great match, too, and because it was Orange Cassidy, one of AEW’s top stars, and how he’s set for a big tag match for Road Rager, it makes a lot of sense he wins. Statlander being the heavy in the Best Friends faction is also great, she’s one tough alien.

Deeb VS Price being the penultimate match is really good for both of them, but especially Tesha since she faced the NWA Women’s World Champion. Deeb is definitely embracing being “The Woman of a Thousand Holds” and having her new robe to go with it. Tesha continues to show great character, and I like that Deeb is showing some fire and aggression these days. A veteran like her, it makes sense she’d show a bit of ego against the younger wrestlers. I haven’t kept up with NWA but maybe the story between NWA and AEW turns out to be a younger star getting the better of her and getting that title off her. Or we just get a badass instant classic in a Rosa VS Deeb rematch.

Another week, another promo with Joey Janela, and his new surly attitude is a nice touch for him slowly going Heel. Nice plug for the return of The Waiting Room, too, I can’t wait to see an almost Shawn Michaels Barber Shop moment with Janela throwing Sonny Kiss through something. And then, Dante Martin getting the main event was awesome for him. This might be the last Elevation at Daily’s Place until the already advertised Dynamite Homecoming happens in August, so Dante getting to close things out is showing how AEW is investing in him.

The match itself was still a shorter main event, as is the usual case for Dark and Elevation, but Dante and Serpentico can move so fast, they get a lot done in just 10 minutes. Chaos Project also showed great Heel tactics and really got that Face rally going behind Dante for it. Dante winning is great, as is Matt Sydal making the save because of the respect he has for the younger guy. Dante is definitely someone to keep your eyes on, he will be among the top stars of the future.
