Chaos clashes with Third Gen for the Six Man gold!

NJPW reaches the end of Kizuna Road, and the NEVER Openweight Six Man titles close it out! But who crosses the finish line with the gold in hand?

NOTE: NJPW no longer wants to feed AXS TV now that it is with Anthem and Impact Wrestling. But never fear, I will cover NJPW in the spirit of AXS in providing the most important matches of the show.

In just over a week, Tetsuya Naito & Sanada will challenge Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr. for their IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. But before then, they meet with Bushi and Japones del Mal with them on this final stop in Kizuna Road! Will the Uncontrollable Charisma and Cold Skull finally get one up on the Sliest Wrestler and the Submission Master? Or will this be another example of why they’re not ready to be a tag team?

The trios sort out, and after a Dangerous Tekkers merch plug and an LIJ fist bump, Naito attacks Taichi! The brawl is on and the bell rings as things spill out of the ring! Sanada is after ZSJ, Bushi keeps Douki down, and Naito rakes Taichi’s eyes! LIJ puts ZSJ in and Sanada throws hands. ZSJ gets up to a corner, Sanada whips corner to corner but ZSJ goes up, under and baits him for a roll up. Sanada sits on it but ZSJ sunset flips! Sanada rolls through, gets the legs, but ZSJ turns Paradise into an ARMBAR! Sanada rolls and gets a ropebreak! ZSJ lets off, wrenches Sanada’s arm, then wrenches again and again.

Tag to Taichi, and the Tekkers attack the arm with a kick. Taichi wraps the arm around the ropes and pulls! The ref counts, Taichi lets go but with the wrong hand. The ref makes Taichi let go for real, and Taichi CLUBS the bad arm. Taichi wrenches to a HOOK KICK! Fans cheer as Taichi stands Sanada up to CLUB him! Tag to Douki, and Douki climbs as Taichi sets Sanada up. Douki wobbles, Sanada fights but Douki leaps in with a FLYING SHOULDER?! Cover, TWO! Fans rally up as Douki tags ZSJ and he gets Sanada up. ZSJ wrenches and WRINGS Sanada’s arm, then twists the wrist. Sanada endures as ZSJ knuckle locks and twists the wrist again.

Sanada kips up but ZSJ wrenches him again. ZSJ whips, wrings, but Sanada handsprings through to dropkick ZSJ down! Fans fire up with Sanada, and he tags in Naito. Naito grins at ZSJ before stomping his leg! The ref reprimands, Naito is holding the ropes. ZSJ slaps Naito but Naito drops an elbow on the leg! ZSJ scrambles away but Naito drags him back over. Bushi tags in, Bushi stomps the leg, then bumps ZSJ off buckles. Bushi puts the bad leg on ropes and pulls, but ZSJ fights back. The ref reprimands so Bushi lets off, the dropkick the leg! Bushi drags ZSJ away, drops an elbow on the leg, then pulls on it for a toehold.

Bushi gets up to stomp the leg more but ZSJ holds ropes. Naito tags in, he drags ZSJ up and bumps him off more buckles. Naito taunts ZSJ, ZSJ slaps him again, so Naito stomps a mudhole on that leg! The ref counts, Naito taunts ZSJ, then Naito brings ZSJ up to whip corner to corner. Naito runs in to rocket kick, sweep and fake ZSJ out on Combinacion Cabron to dropkick the leg! Naito slaps ZSJ around now as fans rally up. Naito stomps the leg, tags Sanada in, and Sanada brings ZSJ up. LIJ double whips corner to corner but ZSJ stops himself to EuroUpper Sanada! Naito gets ZSJ for a Manhattan drop but ZSJ avoids the dropkick to NECK TWIST!

Fans fire up as ZSJ boots but Sanada blocks! Sanada has the leg, but ZSJ wrenches the arm. Sanada avoids the arm Pele but ZSJ avoids the standing moonsault to NECK TWIST! Fans fire up as both men are down, and ZSJ rolls to tag in Taichi. Taichi storms over to Sanada, and throws him down by his hair! Taichi gives Naito Kowata kicks, but Sanada gets up to CLUB Taichi. Taichi CHOKES Sanada! The ref counts, Naito attacks Taichi and whips, but Taichi reverses for a choking STO! Taichi still chokes Naito but Sanada CLUBS him down again. LIJ keeps on Taichi together, and they double whip. Taichi holds ropes, to DOUBLE CHOKE!

The ref reprimands, LIJ breaks free, then they kick and CHOKE Taichi! The ref reprimands, Naito shoves him over but LIJ does stop choking. LIJ whips Taichi, Naito runs in but misses! Sanada dodges Ax Bomber, but Taichi comes back for DOUBLE AX BOMBER! Fans fire up as Taichi has Sanada all alone now. Taichi drags Sanada up to choke him in the corner, then whip him corner to corner. Taichi runs in but Sanada back elbows! Sanada Quebrada but Taichi gets under, only to get a RANA! Taichi bails out and fans fire up for Sanada. Sanada aims and PLANCHAS! Direct hit and down goes Taichi! Sanada encourages the fans to get loud and they do get louder!

Sanada goes back to Taichi, brings him up, puts him in the ring, and has the fans rallying, “SA-NA-DA!” Sanada springboards but Taichi gets out of the way! Taichi runs in but Sanada gets him for a fireman’s carry. Taichi slips off, kicks a leg, but Sanada throws an elbow. Taichi sobats, but Sanada EuroUppers! Sanada blocks the boot to ROLLING ELBOW, but Taichi comes back with a GAMANGIRI! Both men are down and fans fire up again! Douki coaches Taichi up but so does Bushi for Sanada. Both men crawl, hot tags to Douki and Bushi! Black Mask dodges to kick, throw forearms, and whip Douki to a corner. Douki reverses but runs into a boot!

Bushi goes up, FLYING RANA! Douki flounders as fans fire up, and Bushi catches Douki to spin and DDT! Cover, TWO! Bushi dropkicks ZSJ off the apron then goes back to Douki. Bushi hooks a leg but Douki blocks the fisherman. Bushi knees low but runs into an ENZIGURI! Douki sees Bushi on the outside, and SPRINGBOARD MOONSAULTS! Direct hit and Douki fires up with the fans! A ring count begins and is already 7 of 20 as Douki gets Bushi up. Douki puts Bushi in, aims from the apron, and slingshots for DAYBREAK! Cover, TWO! Douki grows frustrated but he wheelbarrows Bushi. Bushi fights the full nelson and Naito runs Douki over! Basement dropkick for Douki!

Manhattan drop for Taichi, and Sanada comes in to dropkick Taichi’s legs out! Naito dodges ZSJ to feed him to Sanada’s BOOT! Naito ENZIGURIS, Sanada fireman’s carries and flips ZSJ into the SKULL END! ZSJ gets in the ropes but it doesn’t matter, they’re not the legal men! Naito dodges Ax Bomber to back elbow Taichi! Taichi SUPERKICK, but Naito blocks it! Naito spins Taichi for DESTINO!! Fans are thunderous as everyone is down! ZSJ is still caught in Skull End as Douki swings on Naito. Naito catches that to feed Douki to Bushi’s CODE BREAKER! Bushi heads for a corner and climbs up! MX!! Cover, LIJ wins!

Sanada lets ZSJ free of Skull End, he might’ve won this on submission in his own right! Naito talks trash to Taichi and drags ZSJ over to join his partner. Sanada even shows he can do the dancing pecs, just like Taichi! Has LIJ finally figured out how to take down the Tekkers?

NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Championships: Chaos VS Third Gen!

Just yesterday, Yoshi-Hashi, Hirooki Goto & Tomohiro Ishii took on Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata in three separate singles matches. The champions came out the overall winners, 2-1, but perhaps the tides will turn! Can the Head Hunter, Fierce Warrior & Stone Pitbull hold onto the gold? Or will Inari no Mogyu, King of Cozy Style & Blue Justice stand strong together and conquer Kizuna Road?

The introductions are made, the titles are raised, and the golden finish line is in view!

The trios sort out, and Ishii starts with Nagata in a continuation from yesterday’s brutal main event! Nagata and Ishii tie up right away, Ishii headlocks, and fans rally as Nagata powers out. They ram shoulders but neither falls. Nagata eggs Ishii on but Ishii gives it back, so the forearms start flying! Ishii still eggs Nagata on and the back and forth continues! Fans fire up as they build up speed, and neither man is backing down! Nagata ROCKS Ishii, runs, BOOTS, and then BOOTS Ishii on the rebound! Ishii avoids the Penalty Kick but Nagata avoids the enziguri, and fans cheer the stand-off. Ishii and Nagata tie up again, and Nagata puts Ishii in the Third Gen corner.

Kojima tags in but Ishii gets away. Goto tags in, and fans rally as he looks for redemption from his loss. Goto kicks, CLUBS and CLUBS away on Kojima! Goto headlocks, Kojima powers up but can’t power out. Kojima tries again, gets free this time, but Goto runs him over! Goto eggs Kojima on, things speed up, and Goto rams Kojima but Kojima rebounds to run Goto over! Fans cheer as Kojima stomps Goto to a corner, CHOPS him, and fires off the Machine Gun Chops! Hashi gets in to stop that and he CHOPS away on Kojima! But Tenzan CLUBS Hashi down, and Red Shoes tries to restore order. TenKoji double suplexes Hashi down!

Goto runs into forearms and Mongolian Chops on repeat! Kojima gets Goto up to club and scoop, then SLAM! Tenzan runs, Kojima slingshots, HEADBUTT ELBOW DROP COMBO! Cover, TWO! Tenzan knocks Hashi off the corner, Kojima stomps Goto, then they get Goto up. Goto escapes and Tenzan clobbers Kojima! Hashi throws Tenzan out, Goto throws Kojima out, and things continue on the outside! Goto whips Kojima into railing! Ishii and Nagata brawl, Hashi whips Tenzan into railing! Ishii whips Nagata into railing, too, and Chaos stands tall! Goto CLUBS Kojima and then rakes the eyes! Red Shoes starts a ring count as Hashi bumps Tenzan off the apron.

The count is 10 of 20 as Chaos keeps on Third Gen. Goto puts Kojima in, stomps him down, then brings him up. Goto CLUBS Kojima but Kojima throws body shots in return! Goto CLUBS Kojima down again, brings him up and bumps him off buckles. Tag to Hashi, and he CHOPS Kojima again! Fans cheer the sharp sound of that one, and Hashi brings Kojima around to snapmare into a chinlock. Hashi digs his knee in, Ishii plays defense, but Kojima endures. Goto also watches Nagata and Tenzan, Hashi pushes Kojima to a cover, TWO! Hashi DECKS Tenzan, drags Kojima up and bumps him off buckles.

Tag to Ishii, and Hashi DECKS Tenzan again! Ishii CHOPS Kojia and Red Shoes has to keep Nagata back. Ishii CHOPS and CHOPS, and CHOPS, but Kojima throws haymakers! Ishii doesn’t even flinch, and then he CHOPS Kojima again! Goto holds Kojima back so Ishii can CHOP him more! And more! Tenzan and Nagata bark at Ishii, bit he tells then to shut up! Kojima falls over, Ishii brings him up and CHOPS him again and again! Kojima’s chest is turning red but Red Shoes tells Ishii to stop. Ishii tells him to shut up, too! Kojima falls over again, Red Shoes checks on him, but fans rally up as Ishii tags Goto.

Hashi gets in with Goto to keep eyes on Third Gen, and then Chaos stomps away on Kojima! Goto drags Kojima up and snapmares for a KICK to the back! Cover, TWO! Tenzan is also there and he coaches Kojima up. Fans rally but Goto brings Kojima up. Goto bumps Kojima off buckles, tags in Hashi, and Hashi CHOPS again! Hashi bumps Kojima off buckles to CHOP again! Then Hashi brings Kojima in for a BIG suplex! Cover and Ishii plays defense, TWO! Kojima is still in this and fans fire up again! Hashi gets Kojima up to SUPERKICK him down! Cover, TWO! Fans cheer as Kojima stays in this for his team, but Hashi hangs him out to dry.

Ishii runs for Hashi to come in and dropkick Kojima down! Cover, TWO! Fans rally back up for “KO-JI-MA!” as Hashi DECKS Tenzan! Hashi dares Kojima to stand, and Kojima does, SUPERKICK- No! Kojima blocks, and reels Hashi in for a COZY CUTTER! Both men are down and fans fire up again! Kojima pushes himself up, spots his corner, and hot tags Tenzan! Tenzan rallies on Hashi, DECKS Ishii and Goto, then goes back for Hashi. Tenzan stomps Hashi, brings him up to Mongolian Chop again and again! Hashi ends up in a corner, so Tenzan CHOPS him! And CHOPS him! And CHOPS him! Tenzan headbutts Hashi as he cashes in Kojima’s receipt!

Fans rally up, Tenzan whips Hashi and runs to corner SPLASH! Tenzan calls his shot, and suplexes Hashi up and over! Cover, TWO! Hashi is still in this but Tenzan stomps him. Tenzan stands Hashi up, reels him in, but Hashi blocks the urenage! Hashi elbows free but Tenzan ROCKS him with a forearm! Hashi forearms back but Tenzan hits him again! They go back and forth with forearms and fans rally as they pick up speed! Tenzan Mongolian Chops again! And again! Hashi drops to his knees, so Tenzan runs, but into a CHOP! Mule kick and HEADBUSTER! Goto DECKS Nagata while Hashi covers, TWO! But Hashi gets the BUTTERFLY LOCK!

Tenzan endures while Nagata brawls with Goto! Hashi got Tenzan with this just yesterday, has Tenzan learned how to fight it? Tenzan fights up, throws body shots, but Hashi throws forearms and CHOPS! And CHOPS! Tenzan eggs Hashi on so Hashi CHOPS him again! And again! And again! Tenzan keeps roaring as Hashi keeps CHOPPING! Hashi runs, but into a WHEEL KICK! Both men are down and the fans are thunderous! Hot tag to Nagata! Blue Justice gives Hashi KICK after KICK! Nagata whips Hashi corner to corner, runs in and BOOTS him! Hashi flounders but Nagata gets him up for a clinch. Hashi fights the exploder but Nagata ROCKS him!

Nagata underhooks but Hashi blocks. Nagata knees low, runs, but Hashi dodges to HEADHUNTER! Hashi fires up and Goto BOOTS Kojima off the apron! Ishii gets in, Chaos double whips Nagata to a corner. Goto whips Hashi in to CHOP Nagata! Hashi feeds Nagata to double kicks and double forearms! Then Chaos BLASTS Third Gen while Hashi LARIATS Nagata! Cover, TWO!! Fans are thunderous again as Hashi vows to end this! Hashi gets Nagata up, reels him in, fisherman, but Kojima CLUBS Hashi first! Goto kicks Kojima and whips him. Kojima dodges the double clothesline to send Goto into Hashi! Goto blocks a DDT and Hashi SUPERKICKS Kojima down!

Hashi and Goto go after Nagata with double whips corner to corner. Goto whips Hashi in but Nagata dodges to BOOT Goto! But Nagata turns around and Hashi dropkicks Nagata’s legs out! Both men are down and fans fire up again! Hashi crawls, to hot tag Ishii! Ishii goes after Nagata but Nagata BOOTS him! Ishii runs again, but into another BOOT! Nagata runs, into a POWERSLAM! Just like yesterday! Nagata and Ishii slowly get up but Ishii brings Nagata up. Ishii reels Nagata in, Tenzan CLUBS him, but Ishii just gets annoyed. Ishii ROCKS Tenzan with elbows! Tenzan Mongolian Chops but Ishii blocks! Ishii headbutts back, but Tenzan stays up!

Tenzan and Ishii go headbutt for headbutt like they’re a couple of rams! Tenzan wins out there and fans fire up again! Tenzan gives Ishii more Mongolian Chops, then Nagata adds an ENZIGURI! Ishii falls over and Nagata puts on the CROSSFACE! Tenzan SPEARS Hashi! And gets him for the ANACONDA VICE! Hashi snapmares Goto for the COZY MAX! Third Gen has TRIPLE SUBMISSIONS! Ishii endures, Goto fights free and clubs Nagata! Tenzan lets Hashi go to go after Goto! Tenzan throws Goto out while Nagata changes from crossface to NAGATA LOCK III! Ishii endures but Nagata makes it a cover, TWO!!

Nagata goes back to the Nagata Lock I, the regular crossface! Ishii endures, fights, but Hashi dropkicks Nagata! Ishii is free and fans rally up hard as ever! Nagata stomps Hashi out, drags Ishii up and whips him to a corner. Nagata runs in to BOOT Ishii, then reels him in for the EXPLODER! Fans cheer but Nagata isn’t done with Ishii yet! Ishii sits up and Nagata kicks, only for Ishii to duck! GERMAN SUPLEX! Both men are down and fans still rally! Ishii fires himself up, runs, but Nagata boots him! Ishii just roars but Nagata ROCKS him! Nagata whips, Ishii reverses, Goto runs in to clothesline!

Ishii clotheslines, then feeds Nagata to Goto’s leg hook, Hashi runs in, BLOCKBUSTER LEG SWEEP! Hashi DECKS Tenzan as Ishii runs in for a SLIDING LARIAT! Goto intercepts Kojima as Ishii covers, TWO!! Blue Justice survives the Chaos but Ishii fires up! Fans are thunderous as Ishii gets Nagata up. Goto and Hashi brawl with Kojima and Tenzan as Ishii suplexes. Nagata knees free but Ishii ENZIGURIS! Ishii dares Nagata to get up, and then builds speed, but Kojima takes the LARIAT for Nagata! Ishii CLUBS Kojima then fires off forearms! Kojima ducks, feeds Ishii to Tenzan but Ishii fires off forearms on Tenzan! Tenzan HEADBUTTS Ishii down!

TenKoji coordinates, LARIAT to URENAGE! They shout to Nagata and he powers up! Ishii sits up into the JUSTICE KICK! Nagata gets Ishii back up, but Ishii fights the saido! Ishii headbutts, but runs into the SAIDO!! Cover, Goto breaks it in time! Kojima throws Goto out, fans are thunderous, and Nagata fires up! Nagata gets Ishii back up, but Ishii slips out of the suplex! Nagata knees, but Ishii blocks a kick to HEADBUTT! Both men fall over and the fans are electric! Ishii and Nagata stir, crawl for their corners, hot tags to Goto and Kojima! The Fierce Warrior rams shoulders with Kojima, then they fire off forearms back and forth!

Fans fire up as Kojima gets the edge and ROLLING ELBOWS! Kojima runs but Goto follows to LARIAT Kojima down! Kojima goes to a corner, Goto gets up and runs in to stomp him! Goto whips Kojima corner to corner, but Kojima dodges to CHOP! And CHOP! And Machine Gun CHOP! Kojima fires up, whips Goto corner to corner, and forearm smashes! Kojima pushes Goto down but Goto comes back to clothesline! Goto returns the favor and goes up top now! DIVING ELBOW a la Kojima! Cover, TWO! Hashi DECKS Tenzan, whips Kojima, and Goto runs in to clothesline! Whip to Hashi’s mule kick, then they combine, but Tenzan stops the GYW!

Tenzan knocks Goto down, DECKS Hashi, then coordinates with Kojima. They double whip and get Goto up, but Goto fights the TenKoji! Ishii attacks them, but Nagata whips Ishii to a corner. Nagata runs in to JUSTICE KNEE! Then feed to TENKOJI CUTTER! Third Gen’s take on 3D takes out Ishii, and then they focus on Goto! They whip Goto, Goto LARIATS Tenzan! Hashi LARIATS Kojima and SUPERKICKS Nagata! Goto-Hashi gets Kojima up to the G Y- NO! Kojima boots Hashi, escapes the suplex, but Goto dodges and Hashi SUPERKICKS! HEADSHOT to BASEMENT METEORA! Hashi sits Kojima up for a PENALTY KICK! Cover, TWO?! Kojima survives and fans erupt!

Hashi DECKS Tenzan, Goto gets Kojima up in the dragon sleeper, but Kojima fights free again! Kojima suplexes to BRAINBUSTER Goto!! Cover, TWO!?! Goto survives but Kojima has laser focus as he takes off his elbow pad! Tenzan takes out Ishii, Nagata has Hashi, but Goto gets Kojima for USHIGOROSHI! Fans rally harder than ever as everyone is down all over the place! Goto and Kojima slowly stir, and Goto gets up with the ropes. Goto powers up and aims at Kojima, to KICK! Kojima fires up to swing, but into a wrench! Fireman’s carry and Ushi toss into G T R!!!! Cover, Chaos wins!!

Winners: Chaos, by pinfall (still NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Champions)

Third Gen NEVER gave up until the end, but not even these three legends could stop Chaos! The champions are given their belts, and Ishii steps up to the challengers. Hashi wants him to back away but Ishii brushes him off. Ishii shows his respect to Chaos’ senpai with a handshake, and Nagata takes it! Tenzan and Kojima also shake Ishii’s hand, and fans cheer. Goto and Hashi also shake hands with Third Gen, and Third Gen lets Chaos have the ring to properly celebrate. Will we see Nagata, Tenzan and Kojima come back around one day to try again?

Goto gets the mic to commend Third Gen on being “tough as hell.” But Chaos’ bonds cannot be broken! “Not here, not now!” The Olympics are coming to Japan finally, but Goto promises that NJPW will be bringing the hotter action! Fans like the sound of that and clap, “NEW JAPAN!” Goto continues by saying he will let Hashi close things out as usual. Fans clap for Hashi as he says Goto said most of what he wanted to say, but he will confirm by saying that their defense of these titles will NEVER– Wait, the lights go out?! And someone attacks in the ring! The lights come back on, and it’s BULLET CLUB! Dick Togo is choking Ishii while the others are down and out!

Evil grabs up the Six Man belts, tosses them aside, and then drags Ishii up for EVERYTHING IS EVIL! Goto and Hashi get back in but Evil and Dick get away! Chaos dares Bullet Club to fight now that things are fair, but of course Evil and Dick choose not to. Fans rally for Chaos while they check on Ishii, but are they already on the road to defeat at the hands of #DarknessClub?

My Thoughts:

A very good event to close out Kizuna Road, and NJPW did everyone a favor by putting the first two matches as one video on one of their YouTube channels. That was just Kota Ibushi and Shingo Takagi each taking on Young Lions as tune-ups for their coming title match. I kept the LIJ VS Suzuki-Gun Six Man because that acts as a go-home to the coming IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match. LIJ finally wins here but I have a feeling that means they lose the title match. But as I said yesterday, NJPW doesn’t always go with the usual math, because otherwise Chaos winning 2-1 yesterday would’ve made them lose today. They did not, but that was a powerful match.

The main event went longer than I expected, some false finishes to extend it, but the fans really loved seeing it. Chaos wins but it seems Bullet Club is coming back around as Evil and Dick attack Ishii hardest of all. I assume they add Yujiro Takahashi as their third man, and depending on the plans with Bullet Club, #EvilDickPimps might win these titles, same as Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo did with the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag titles.
