Daily’s Place elevates in the dark one more time!

Just as AEW said hello to Daily’s Place again, it’s almost time to say good-bye. Who rises up on another all-new Dark: Elevation?

MY THOUGHTS

Wow, this is surreal. As much as I’d been hoping AEW would trim down Dark (both Elevation and classic), it’s weird to look at the video and see the runtime is 38:22. If I’d known ahead of time it’d be this trimmed down… Especially since this was more like AEW Dark: Squashathon. All the established name wins were quick, especially for Cage, Cargill, and Jurassic Express. Kudos to Cyrus and Bravo thinking they could get an early advantage, but that was also an insanely quick match. The brothers VS brothers tag main event was definitely the right choice, though. Both teams have such speed and agility, that when you put them against each other, naturally it all reaches another level.

Capt. Dean getting his first win tonight, and it being a squash, is great stuff for him. He’s deserved to be a winner and a bigger deal in AEW for quite some time now, so glad it finally happened. We also got a fiery promo from Danny Garcia and 2.0, those guys are already hits, and all the matches they hyped are going to be great. But oddly, the biggest thing was the No Contest. Janela turning on Sonny Kiss here instead of before on The Waiting Room was brilliant! The resulting “no contest,” the show “losing” a match, it all works into how this was a short episode and vice-versa. That’s a feeling of unpredictability and realism that isn’t played with enough anymore, so great move from those two to do that here.
