NXT Minus 6: WAR GAMES!!!

6. I love the new NXT logo…if NXT is a brand of shoes for my 6 year old. Seriously, who is this supposed to appeal to? Soccer moms born in the 80’s still wearing their MC Hammer pants? I guess this is WWE’s subtle way of telling us the Black & Gold Era is over. Duh Duh Duh!

5. And were you listening to the music accompanying the logo? Keep it true to self. Never sell out. The company that does whatever it takes to appeal to as many people as possible is telling us to never sell out. It NEVER works when a multi billion dollar company shilling mass merchandise tells us to be original & unique. This is right up there with your parents telling you to shut your F$%&ing mouth and stop your F$%^ing cursing. 

4. Mandy Rose kicks off NXT??? That has Vince’s fingerprints all over it. Not Mandy herself. I mean the idea of starting a wrestling show with a traditionally attractive blonde who has more looks than actual wrestling talent. Because grapefruits, that’s why.

3. Poor Roderick Strong. His entourage gets bigger and more pointless. I might care about Hachiman if I knew what he could do in ring, but I don’t so I don’t. Malcolm Bivens is boring. He loses Tyler Rust and gains two innocent bystanders, because why??? He’s still doing his old Undisputed Era entrance. I predict that by the end of 2021, Strong will be wished well in his future endeavors. Let’s hope there’s a place in the wrestling world that cares about using one of the most technically gifted performers of his generation.  

2. Tommaso Ciampa needs three more members for his War Games match against Pete Dunne, Ridge Holland, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. Where is the easiest place to find three guys already working as a team? Hiiiiiit Rooooooow. That clash of styles is crazy enough to work. War Games 2019 was ok, but Ciampa’s team always felt random. And who doesn’t want to see Swerve Scott and Top Dolla do some damage in a cage? Ciampa as honorary OG of Hit Row. Book it! 

1. This week’s That’s Why I Love Wrestling goes to….Tommaso Ciampa. His promo this week was goose bumpy. There are few things in wrestling better than a fired up, pissed off Tommaso Ciampa. Amid the weddings & fluff and boring interviews, Ciampa is single-handedly working to keep wrestling in NXT. This is the biggest fight of his career.
