QUICK NOTES

Great to see #Aneki Ryo Mizunami back, the women’s trios match is going to be a lot of fun and is the one match I can’t really predict. And it makes sense they went short, Elevation had to take place after Rampage and Dynamite was going to be back in the James L. Knight Center the next night anyway.

AFTER WATCHING

Dustin debuting the “Backlund Driver” and it being a shoutout to Bob Backlund was cool stuff. Dustin will give Bryan Danielson a really good match in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament, but of course Bryan will win. Wardlow of course gets to destroy another rando, but I’m thinking Wardlow needs to break free from The Pinnacle because where are the title matches for this guy? I think there was a weird problem with video editing in the Santana & Ortis match. Either way, Santana & Ortiz win, but clearly they’re taking a detour in the Inner Circle VS American Top Team story since the AEW World Tag Team Champions, the Lucha Brothers, are busy with FTR and all that.

And the Six Woman Tag was indeed some great stuff, totally worthy of the main event spot. Great combo work from the Face team, too, as I’d yet to see Velvet and King do a combo move like that step stool and double knees. Velvet almost destroys herself with that second rope Spanish Fly, though, she’ll need to work on her backflip. The Heels winning was a bit of a surprise, though, but I suppose their combined experience and aggression, it just works out in their favor. I feel like that while the TBS Championship is coming to give the women’s midcard something, they should really consider trying the tag division and those medals again, Nyla and Diamante have been a good combo.
