Imperium comes to 205 Live!

205 Live is Handsome and All Heart, but will Imperium start their conquest of the purple ‘n’ orange? Or will they learn all about #StyleStrong?

QUICK NOTES

So as has been said many times all over the place, this show should just rebrand as “NXT Lite.” There are no more weight restrictions on who competes on this show, and the 2.0 Era creative team is desperately trying to give fans reasons to watch this, hence why bigger NXT names are showing up. Ember Moon last week, Imperium this week. And yet, while making the show three matches, they’re still only giving this show around 30 minutes. Oh, this week got to be 32! Wow~! And if you’ve read my AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation coverage, you’ll see I’m now doing the same thing here: no Play By Play, just the results and my thoughts.

Chen VS Malik was solid stuff, but I don’t know if it really helps to show Chen struggling against another young guy when he handled Trey Baxter fairly easily in his debut. The Miller VS Feroz rematch was about on the level of the first match, and I think each of them is gaining some in-ring confidence. They were smoother and sharper with each other, and naturally Miller wins to indicate a tiebreaker will happen down the line. And Imperium being on here, against the makeshift team of Jiro and Baxter, of course Barthel and Aichner win. Sadly, it’s hard to say this all elevates 205 Live. It feels more like Imperium is falling without Walter being more present.
