QUICK NOTES

As I said last week, this doesn’t feel like 205 Live is being elevated but more like Sarray is being downgraded. Shouldn’t there be more interaction with her and Toxic Attraction before Toxic Attraction ever got to go after the various titles? Heck, after Mandy Rose had a match with Ember Moon, Sarray and Ember could team up. Warrior of the Sun and Ember Moon, something about that writes itself. Plus, I feel like it should’ve been Ivy Nile finally getting in the ring here with Amari. They should have Diamond Mine really start to take over after that introduction vignette on NXT.

Speaking of the Diamond Mine, of course the Creed Brothers win, Lockhart & Jackson never stood a chance. After their first two matches felt rather copy and paste, they had a good change of pace in this one. Brutus was toying with Jackson and they had a combo move in a gut wrench suplex splash. If Brutus and Julius start opening up more in their moveset, these two can actually be a really good team. Bivens also has a decent promo but he said “annihilation” in a weird way. Sounded like “analation.” And him calling out all the brands is all superficial, WWE ain’t letting NXT be on par with RawDown anymore now that Team Vince is in charge.

Baxter VS Waller could’ve stood to have more time, but again WWE is trying to shove a lot into 205 Live when it’s averaging half an hour. It was still solid stuff out of these two actual Cruiserweight competitors, and Baxter had great innovation with a wheelbarrow victory roll to a splash. Baxter got to show that #AllHeart, still fighting, but I suppose Waller winning makes a lot of sense in both men’s stories. Waller is still the hotshot coming in trying to get up the ranks, and Baxter has that whole thing with Cora Jade where they’re a competitive yet supportive couple. If Cora Jade cheers up a pouting Trey next NXT, then we know they actually give a damn about 205 Live.
