QUICK NOTES

Only half a dozen is a good size for Elevation. Plenty of clear cut outcomes again but the women’s tag is the hard one to call. That is going to be a very good match, and it does help build into round two of the TBS Championship match as Nyla takes on a banged up Hikaru Shida while Statlander takes on a fired up Ruby Soho.

AFTER WATCHING

Wow, the women’s tag opened. Nyla and Sakura winning makes some sense. Nyla, Sakura and Diamante have been on a roll, and I figure that Nyla is more likely to beat Shida in the tournament than Statlander is to beat Ruby. Nyla has momentum, she’ll carry that into the semifinals and then that momentum will put over Ruby as she goes into the finals. But after that, pretty standard stuff: good showing from the jobbers, but the established AEW stars get the wins. #LMK is very colorful and charismatic, but she also makes a good tune-up for Conti as Conti makes her way to Full Gear.

Max Caster had a great Boston diss rap, and I love that Cassidy used the mic to “amplify” the shin kicks. Good stuff as always from the Best Friends, The Acclaimed and Serpentico, but it was a pretty short main event and naturally, Best Friends win. Cassidy gets momentum going into his match with Moxley in the World Title Eliminator Tournament. Still pretty sure Cassidy loses that but it’ll be a really fun match.
