It’s Exciting to be a Wrestling Fan Right Now

Right now is a badass time to be a fan of professional wrestling. There are so many cool things happening, and never say never has never felt more true than now. Never say never clearly defines the state we’re living in.

One on side of the world we have CM PUNK about to get his hands on MJF, after months of fantastic trash talking both superstars are about to come to blows. Zach freaking Ryder just won the ECW Television Championship from Rhino after his twenty-one-year reign and just threw it in the trash ala WCW.

On the other side of the planet, we just found out the Elimination Chamber premium live event will take place in Saudi Arabia. The forbidden door may be opened up slightly in the Royal Rumble when the current Impact Women’s Champion Mickie James and an unknown superstar will make an appearance in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. What in the actual F? WWE is letting this happen, and the wrestling world could not be more stoked!

Had more than 1 source this weekend, w/o me directly asking, state they believe WWE will try for an “unexpected” forbidden door entrant for the Men’s Royal Rumble. Personally I’m skeptical it happens, but I can confirm WWE is at least open to the idea. Which is exciting enough.

Another wild development is Seth Freaking Rollins is rumored to defeat ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns and bring the Universal Championship back to Monday Night Raw. I think it’s going to happen since the whole point for Reigns’ long reign was to surpass ‘The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar’s title reign. Now that The Needle Mover has his prestigious name in the record books as the longest-reigning Universal Champion, it’s time for him to step down from his throne.

This brings me to what I believe is one of the biggest dream matches ever, ‘The Almighty’ Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.  Who can even believe that we’re getting this match, and who would’ve guessed all it took was a Covid strike to make it possible? It’s funny how things happen all for an unknown purpose. Lashley vs. Lesnar is even being positioned as a “big fight” feel with an official weigh-in next week.

I don’t even think who matters who wins this match, to me it’s just exciting that we get to watch two badasses battle it out at the Royal Rumble! Things are getting crazy with the road to WrestleMania on the horizon, for the first time, it seems like anything can happen at any given moment. A great start to 2022 if you ask me!
